  1. Just my view, but there are better things to do than worry about a little rust on a drive shaft. If I worried about rust on my 08 Edge I would be worried to death right now.
  2. check your drivers side actuator. Most likely it has frozen or is broken. Either way if it does not work you will have to crawl under the dash to replace it and this is not a fun thing. Verify by changing temp and looking at the drive shaft. If the shaft does not move you need to replace it.
  3. Thank you. My goal is to get repair videos out there for the Ford Edge so people can do it themselves. I am learning as I go and thanks to video editing not showing all of my mistakes. In the future I will be creating suspension replacement videos for the 2011 as it gets to 100K miles. You like the MG voice intro and closing? She practiced her lines and had to work on the word "subscribe" a few times, but she is enjoying it. Which makes it good in my book.
  4. Here is the latest MG productions video on the Orange Crush.
  5. Here is the latest MercyGirl Productions video on DIY rear shock removal and installation. Remember to like and subscribe to see more videos. I am always working on the Orange Crush repairing something to keep it on the road and safe to drive.
  6. Just remounted my summer tires. The TPMS was displayed. Easy enough to fix. Just drive about a block or two at 25 MPH and they automatically reset and the light goes off. One thing to be careful about is damaging them when the tires are taken off and remounted on the rims. An over aggressive repair man or woman could cost you money as they make you pay even if it is their fault and they damage it.
  7. Rides better. Goes straight and feels better going down the road. Big improvement. I am pretty sure the front struts will need to be addressed after the LCA on the drivers side is taken care of. I love the quiet ride with the summer tires. MercyGirl has made her official voice intro and closing credits stay tuned. Video is being rendered then it will be uploaded. I think this will be another FIRST Ford Edge video DIY for removal and installation of rear shocks.
  8. Wonder if Ford would cover anything like a PCM on my Edge or am I in the SOL catagory? LOL I will most likely have argue with them just to replace the fuel tank.
  9. All done with the rear shock replacement and install, mounted the summer tires and had the alignment done. Total cost was roughly 240.00 as I had the mounting and alignment done at a shop. Oh yeah. A wave to the guy who installed my last set of rear shocks (butt head) thanks for cross threading the nuts you blooming idiot. Time was an issue today so went with faster but for more money. Still not a bad price for all of it. I did discover the power steering rack is not leaking but seeping. very wet all around the seal are on the passenger side. Something to plan for and not really sure I want to do this, but will investigate and maybe employe assistance when the time arrives. Anyway. Get ready for another MG production. Yes she will voice the intro just because the contract states she does the intro and ending. What can I say...... will post once the video is processed and uploaded. Stay tuned. Bonus for me no wheel bearing noise. Those Bridgestone Dueler H/L ecopias are pretty quiet.
  10. Great, first thing to do before replacing my rear shocks is to empty the back of my car into my garage. Have to do this because I have to be able to remove both left and right rear quarter panels in order to access the top of the shocks to remove and install them. Let the fun begin. Unfortunately MercyGirl has to go to work today (her description for going to school) so it will be just me working the video and working on the orange crush. stand by for an interesting video.

    Valve train tick

I am pretty sure Ford would not entertain any complaints from me about my engine noise.
  12. Long before, basically since I have had the Edge.
  13. I have put 21 gallons in it in the past. Really confusing. Oh and my little buddy the gas cap light. He took a vacation yesterday and has not returned back yet. Maybe the light burned out?
  14. I filled up today an put 19.8 gallons of gas in my tank. Is this normal for a 2008 Ford Edge? I thought the tank was 19 gallons capacity. And no i was not pushing it to the pump.
  15. Hang on to the receipts this ride is not over. Expansion is in the air.......... Oh and how did they come up with a fuel tank for your 09? Last word is there are none available. Oh do not forget to make a complaint on Safecar.gov or something like that.
  16. New monroe sensatracs for the rear. Get the summer tires mounted and then an alignment. Oh and then I can listen and then determine if I have wheels bearings to replace. Yea me. Snow tires are so loud I can not decide if it is wheel bearings or not. If it is they are just starting to make noise and can not tell by turning the wheel on the highway. Time will tell. Also going to investigate a clunk noise from the right front. Hate to say it but just maybe the start of an axle/driveshaft issue. Time will tell on this one also.
  17. The more I have driven the Orange Crush the more I relized that when the autobody shop aligned my edge the ball joints were worn and actually toed out due to the wear. They then brought the alignment toed in to correct the situation. I then installed the new LCA and now have a toe in situation. Tommorrow I plan on getting everything back to normal and correcting the alignment. Video to come.
  18. If everything works out you should be seeing the Orange Crush getting some new shoes, new rear shocks and an alignment. Videos soon to come. I will be working on it Friday. My right rear is out of whach so I am hoping the shock replacement and alignment will do the trick. If not then there may be a worn right rear control arm bushing issue. I hear faint clunks in the back so not really sure until I get it up and start twisting and tweaking.
  19. April Fools......You can not get rid of the Orange Crush that easy....
  20. By your description sounds like lack of maintence. Most can be fixed pretty cheaply, but the transmission would require a little more thought.
  21. First i heard of it. Defective belt maybe? Rock could of got caught in it.
  22. R.I.P. Orange Crush....:  I just do not have the words....
  23. Anything can be done with the proper amount of $$$$
