I received an email contact from MOOG yesterday. Seems they like the sway bar link video and are going to send me some surprise appreciation goodies. Wonder what it will be? Coffee cup and ball cap? Who knows just have to wait and see.

I like your thinking but not sure the wife would like blue moon. LOL I have been starting to call the Metallic Blue one just "Blue" but we will see how the name choices come about. My youngest "cuddlebug" might want to help. Now that would be interesting.

The orange crush is gone. Traded at the price of 3300.00 dollars. You may still be able to see it, most likely in a buy here pay here car lot. There may be a way to look it up by VIN # to see where it ends up. If anyone can do that then we all would know. Update: I did call the dealer who has it and it is still in their lot with no real decision on what to do with it yet. Usually they whole sale them out right away but the salesman said it was not put on the truck. Time will tell. They are probalby trying to figure out why it runs and starts so well.

The transmission flush was a good step. The tranny does not have that braking feeling so much now. Or maybe it is just because it has been on the interstate for about 1k miles now that I have it. Barring any sudden issues I will be replacing the brakes all around and also performing a full brake fluid change. Should be interesting gettting MercyGirl to pump the brakes for me. I know she knows which pedal is the brake because she drives the golf carts all the time (just wish she would use the brakes more) carts have a few scars. MercyGirl is all GAS and no BRAKE. God help me!!!

Front sway bar bushings and stab links?
macbwt replied to shumax's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Removing the originals will be an adventure for sure. I will most likely be replacing my struts in the next few months or at least before the snowy weather arrives. Then I can install the Moog sway bar links. Good luck. Let us know how they work out. -

I believe this is the Moog sway bar link mentioned. -
Might want to try these out.

Add nav to a 2011 with myford touch?
macbwt replied to tknice's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
It would be nice to be able to install navigation into the MFT. It seems that Ford has not made this MFT upgradeable. based on some of the previous information. I guess I will just keep using my Garmin. -
Moog sway bar link review. Fits the 2007-2014 Ford Edge. I like this link as it does not require the Akirby tool!!!

Are you saying I am not NORMAL? LOL I will be changing the Blue soon. 350 miles on the Cinnamon today and it coasts better and shifts better. I may start a 50K change routine on the Cinnamon, matter of fact I will. I did not like the looks of the fluid on the Orange Crush or the cinnamon at 90K.

Front sway bar bushings and stab links?
macbwt replied to shumax's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
We did one in the driveway/garage in February. the cold makes you work faster. LOL It can be done with a floor jack. Keep in mind I broke the bolt because I had already reused it previously, when I should have replaced it. This is why I recommend the new bolts each time you perform this job. My cost was about 145.00 dollars to replace it. Not sure what the dealer would charge. Just note the OEM from ford is about 250 dollars. The Moog is 75.00 at amazon. -

Watch the video. I do recommend all new bolts when you replace the LCA or you could be looking at doing what I had to do to replace the LCA. I have many more repair video's on my youtube channel that may also be of interest. -
Wish I could afford new edges. I just drive too many miles to pay for new vehicles. The used edge is a great value and reliable. Keeping the fluids changed makes all the difference from great to junk.

I should be replacing the 2011 Ford Edge rotors and pads in the next week or so. I have already purchased the four rotors and ceramic pads for a total of $402.00. I expect shop fees and a few minor incidentals to complete the work. I will also be covering a closer inspection of the noise dampeners attached to the brakes. Here is the video of the unboxing of the the Duralast High carbon steel rotors and ceramic pads/kits.

Took the 2011 out to have the transmission flushed out. You can see that going 150K before changing your transmission fluid is most likely not the best choice. Watch and see what your fluid actually looks like at 92K miles. I will be flushing the 2011 Blue very soon and then see a comparison at 76K miles.

Front sway bar bushings and stab links?
macbwt replied to shumax's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Strut bearing mounts may be the issue. Your mileage is right at the point of replacement. You can also get a very similar noise if the ball joint is worn. I never experienced the sway bar bushings needing a replacement. I have experienced the noises you describe with the strut bearing mount and the ball joint. I replaced three of each on each side. I also experienced a clunking sound when a sway bar link broke under low speeds and bumps. The bearing mount will make noise up higher on the front. The ball joint will be a lower located noise and could be easily confused with the strut mount. You do not have to be turning to hear the strut mount noise. The strut mount fails usually in a manner that is more of a vertical movement than turning under load. -

From the album: Snow covered ford edge
2011 Ford Edge Limited Metallic Blue 2011 Ford Edge Limited Cinnamon Metallic -
Cabin air filter replacement is most likely the most neglected filter in your Edge. The filter replaced was most likely the original filter which was never replaced by the previous owners. The original owners most likely did not do much as far as maintenance. So a note do not trust Ford Certified cars too much, because if they neglected this in their "inspection" what else did they neglect? Anyway watch the video.

Depends on your perspective. Not everyone on the forum buys a brand new ford edge. Maintenance is the key. My last Ford Edge was purchased at 60K used. I think it did rather well considering it was used as a rental prior to my purchase. Most new edge owners do not worry much about repairs as they have the warranty. This topic will cover those owners that purchase the used Edge and have to take care of the maintenance/repairs on their own with no warranty.
