A curiousity I have concerning the brake boosters is what is the average miles the Edge has on the ODO when the booster fails or is this a random thing? I have the two Edge's and on is at 76k and the other is 96K neither are demonstrating any pending failures. Also to note specifically what is the manufacturer date of the Edges. Just wondering about correlation to miles and date of mfg.

Question is....was the replacement a metal tank or a plastic tank. Inquiring minds want to know.

Sure am anxious to learn how to change tranny fluid myself
macbwt replied to perrytime's topic in Transaxle (FWD)
Or for about 150 dollars you could do this and get a cup of coffee. As far as waiting to change your fluid. I would shoot for 50-70k miles. Check out what it looks like at 92K miles. -
Here is the video of the exploratory viewing of the 2nd Generation 3.5 Duratec with 95K miles on the ODO. Had to break it down to change the plugs so thought might as well see what is inside. Let me know what you think. I found it to be interesting since I see no video's like this on youtube for the 3.5 duratec non ecoboost engine.

Just get the check book ready. 800.00 dollar repair bill in your future.

I have not heard any loud engine noise inside the edge since I removed the engine covers. Maybe someone with more accute hearing would find the engine noise louder, but I have not experienced any change that would say the engine covers are all that helpfull except maybe from the outside it would tend to dampen the Klickety klack of the valve train. So for me the verdict is the covers will remain in the garage to be pilfered by the mice.

Here is the video of the endoscopic exploration of the 2011 Ford Edge Limited (lullubelle) intake and cylinders are viewed using an endoscopic camera. I found it interesting and hope to employ this camera more in the future.

Check your sensitivity settings. I believe you have three levels. High, Medium and low. Find the one that works best for you driving style.

Now have 600 miles on the sparkplug, TB and PCV work. Running well and loosening up. Coasting has noticably improved with far less engine braking. lullubelle now drives very much like Blueberry. Guess she just needed a little attention. I have finished putting together the endosopic exploration video on the intake valves and cylinders. It should be ready to view in a few hours. I think some of you may be interested in how things look on the inside after nearly 100K miles. I found it interesting. The camera worked much better than I envisioned it would. I think I will use it for some future videos. Wish I could afford to get one of those go pros to video some things I do. Everything in it's time and place as they say. Just note of help for CB. She is having some issues breathing and we are getting her to a specialist so if you pray, please pray for CB that everything is good. Thank you.

Help!! A/C quit working!! 2007 model
macbwt replied to bravesgal4life's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
If the fans do not kick on but the A/C compressor is cycling then it is the fans. You should be able to get a diagnostic for under $100.00 on the A/C to determine the problem then change out the fans your self if this is the issue. -

Road Trip today for about 250 miles not one issue and extreme high heat index. Jobs sites and manufacturing locations were a momma bear for heat. You would think I would pick cooler days to inspect facilities that have fluidizer beds and ovens. LOL. Lullubelle worked it like a champ and I was mostly two lane today so clocked in at 27.2mpg. She seems to coast better and not drag as much as she did before. Overall I think the cleaning of the TB and new plugs was a great thing to do. Bet the transmission flush was also a good thing. Very happy with the outcome. Now to start working on a few more videos. Anyone want to see and endoscopic view of the inside of the intake manifold valves and cylinders on lullubelle at 96K miles? I need to know if it will be worth the time and effort to put the video together.

Apoligize ahead of time for the audio syncing issue. Here is the 3rd part to the sparkplug removal and installation. I will of course rework this segment again from scratch as this is the only way to fix the video. I just wanted to get it out there to complete the series.

Part three coming soon. It may have an audio syncing issue. I have tried to correct it with not much luck but will wait to see after the processing. I think I may have mentioned Akirby agian about being a proponent of K&N air filters not sure, but something may have been mentioned.

Here is part one of the spark plug removal and installation on Lullubelle. Due to the time and length of the video to remove and replace the spark plugs, remove and replace the pcv and remove, clean/reinstall the electronic throttle body I had to break this video up into three parts. A video just specifically on the endoscopic viewing of the intake valves and piston cylinders will be a seperate video. I should have most of them up and running yet today.

What mileage you have on it? Pretty soon for even cheap ball joints to fail. You may want to check your sway bar links as they tend to make that sound when they are broken. Especially if you removed them and then re-installed them. Had a sway bar link break and it made a similar noise. Are your struts good?
