  1. I would just take it off and donate it to the local recycling place or landfill
  2. No covers on the 2008's for sure. The wife's 2011 as you can see in the oil change video has the foam cover. Personally my Orange Crush has literally made the same clank, clang, tick, bang noises since I bought it. It may not sound big and powerful like a V8, but it has the heart of one.
  3. Total time for the flush was about 20 minutes in and out. Not a long process considering the time the dealership will take to do it.
  4. I might not of mentioned it but, I was going down hill.
  5. Here is the Orange Crush running hard after the transmission service.
  6. I can help you with that issue of low mileage. Just lend her to me for a year.
  7. Nope no chance on the Edge making it to 250,000 miles unless it is an Orange Crush Edge. Then it will go forever!!!
  8. I was bored today on the long drive. Thought I would put the Orange Crush through it paces. Still a strong engine and transmission.
  9. Just curious does this part fail? and how would one figure out that it failed or is it a useful life service and replace part? Not much to go on with this part and the description. How do I inspect it to see if it needs replacement or confirm it is working? Time to hit the road and give the tranny a some drive time with the new fluid. I pulled out my shoulder working on the 2011 and spent the rest of the weekend nursing it. Must be getting old.
  10. If you listen to my repair videos you will hear others doing the same thing you did. Not uncommon. I see people struggling all the time with frozen rotors to the point blow torches have to be employed. Brakes are a funny thing you get 25k miles on them and I get 175K miles on them. The traffic you drive is the single most important wear factor in your brakes. If she is constantly gas/brake her whole drive then your brakes will be ate up quickly. My miles are all interstate and rarely used. Check out some of my videos where I inspect my brakes and you will see how much pad is left after 100k miles. I do recommend Ceramic pads with high carbon steel rotors (check the weight of the rotors and compare them also) I say check the weight as not all rotor are made equally and I go with the heavier high carbon steel rotors. A marriage of these two together should provide you with the longer service life you are looking for and provide a much quieter dust free result. I did this with my trailblazer and let it set due to engine issues for three months and when I did drive it after sitting that long I heard nothing from the brakes as I drove it.
  11. You need a large hammer not a mallet. Brute force will work. You may wish to get new rotors. Also wire brush the spindle and coat with anti seize before installing new rotors. If all else fails apply heat to the cap and then resort to the Hammer. Liberal private use of colorful language sometimes helps you exhale while pounding.
  12. Apparently only the 2011 and 2012 received this according to the parts guide. I wonder if newer model year Edge's have them? Or was this a one off situation and then not used again? It looks like you can simply replace it with the standard pin if you do not wish to keep it on your vehicle.
  13. Orange Crush Transmission Fluid change. MercyGirl productions had a busy Saturday. Enjoy and of course LIKE and Subscribe so you can receive notifications as soon as we upload new videos.
  14. Here is a transmission fluid change. Not a DIY but a video at a service garage on my 2008 Ford Edge. 95,000 miles were logged on this fluid. Orange Crush has 279,000 miles on the FWD transmission at the time of this video.
  15. Transmission Fluid change video. Another MercyGirl Production.
  16. You have great timing for this question. I just finished changing my fluid out and will be posting the video very soon. My fluid had about 95K on it 97 percent highway miles. This video may help you decide on when to change it. I paid 149.00
  17. Another MercyGirl Production video on one of the most common maintenance items on your engine. The oil change. I love working with her and she and I have a good time. Enjoy the video and AKirby this one is for you. Watch the whole video. LOL
  18. Wonder if the fix will be plastic fuel tanks? Here is the video of my 2011 with a plastic gas tank. Fix seems simple enough and pretty easy.
  19. Got a brake question on the 2011? Let me know what this is?
  20. It is and as a Bonus you have to watch the entire oil change video as I specifically call out Akirby!!!! Just razzing him on K&N filters LOL
  21. MG productions hard at work. 2011 oil change was not much to do with this but hey we will put it out there for those interested. I however did get a bonus video done on the flush of the Orange Crush Transmission. The Owner of the shop decided to participate in the video so this will also be included as he scolds me on my frequency of transmission fluid changes. LOL
  22. MG productions is insisting on making a video of the oil change. OH well if she wants to video the process who am I to deny some good times with my daughter.

    Fuel Additives?

My Jet mechanic brother would add half a quart of Transmission fluid to his gas every once in a while. Not sure of the method of madness he was aiming for but I never tried it. He stated something about keeping the engine and sensor cleaner. I think he was smelling too much jet fuel to tell you the truth.
  24. No block Canada is number two most viewed by countries. So it is working. 1500 views and averaging one view an hour now. 65 countries some that I have never hear of (I need to brush up on geography) For some Reason Colorado does not show up as viewing. Maybe everyone is too stoned.
