If your insurance company will not cover the long term rental you need to look for another insurance company the does not end with CO

And another monthly oil change. Rather uneventful operation for the Orange Crush. If time works out I will get the Tranny fluid replaced. Going to change the 2011 oil at the Army Base tomorrow. Wife complaining about a change oil light.
-
I think the engines are great. The suspension especially the front components I believe are the weak point. I have changed more lower control arms than I have changed the transmission fluid.
-
Now you tell me....!!! LOL
-
I like the 2011 mostly because the 3.5 duratec is a rock solid engine. The main reason I purchased the 2011 for my wife and I have been nothing but happy since. No more breakdown worries like I am still dealing with on her truck that sits and acts like the world largest gravitational force holding the street in place.
-
Great let us know how it works out. You can do it!! I knew a Fortunato when I was in the military (Navy)

My wife's 2011 needs plugs now. Seeing yours makes me want to get at it. I will work on it next and make another MG production for your enjoyment.

Fair amount of math involved but I would just set up a cone and then stop and measure the distance. Many variables such as tire type, road conditions, type of road surface, brake pad and rotor size type etc. Stopping from 31 mph should be rather short IMO. Just a note: In my previous life I investigated accidents.

Rear/Psngr brake caliper anchor plate part help
macbwt replied to Mitchell Romag's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Curious as to why you need a new bracket did the other fail or just really rusted? -
How many miles on those plugs? They look like they have well over 100k on them. Mine looked just slightly worse with 150k miles. Great feeling once you finish though!! See that PCV wanted to have some attention and you ignored it. LOL.
-
That is almost the amount it cost me when I deer hunt with my Orange Crush. Hope you are alright!!
-
Just five bucks for the PCV and since you are already there. Why not. I did it OK without out removing the intake. I like to take care of things while you are in the area if they are simple and cheap. Save time and effort later. If it is OK in your book then don't replace it. I did not change mine until 268,000 miles and it was still good.
-
Thanks for the follow up. I guess I am SOL on my Orange Crush for mileage.
-
You can fish them out by using a hooked end of a coat hanger and then pulling up. worked in the past for me on another vehicle. I would however replace it if it is damaged in anyway. Also make sure you use electrical grease to keep this from happening again. It also sounds like you went more than 90k on the plugs. I am guilty as charged on this also and the gaps were extreme when they were replaced at 150k miles. This in turn caused an O2 sensor to fail so change them at 90K and you will be good. I am currently getting ready to make a video on sparkplug removal and installation on a 2011 Ford Edge Limited. This should help others in the future. I would say also I am going to replace the gasket on the intake as I do not like reusing gaskets. Just my choice. As it will be yours. Oh get a PCV while you are at it as the the little bugger is under the intake and this is the best time to swap it out.

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
macbwt replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I feel an air filter replacement for the 2011 with a dry filter and then a cleaning of a K&N which will of course have direct honorable mention to Akirby on Youtube for his steadfast support in believing and promoting the benefits of these filters!!!! -

One or two cans of this spray generously into the condenser coils should help make your AC run more efficiently. This stuff cleans everything that regular water can not get at. Plus it is no rinse just spray and go.
-
Mechanic had one of those tools and he could not get mine to register with it after I remounted the summer tires. I drove it about a block and they reset. Not sure why they were not reading.
-
I had a rattle turned out to be the mud flap was loose.

AC blowing hot when sitting but cold while driving?
macbwt replied to 4x4's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
Buy some A/C coil cleaner and spray that in the coils then rinse it out it does a good job of cleaning it up and making it more efficient. -
I would like to report that I am making another repair video, but nothing needs repaired on the Orange Crush. 5 tanks of gas and 1500 miles. Just another week for the ole Orange Crush. Burning through this oil change in one month, going to be a busy summer.
-
Wheel bearing. The mech will be able to tell you which one.
-
I am due a trans fluid change so will get that done at the end of the month.

Louder than normal clacking noise from drivers side of the engine right after starting. Drove the orange crush to pick up daughter and when I returned listened again and the noise was gone. Never heard it before. Guess I will have to keep and ear open for this to see if anything changes.
-
Now that is unfair. The orange crush is running just fine. It just wants a vacation/sabbatical
