Anyone Replace Their Sony Speakers?
redlancer replied to bill valley's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Look around for the posts by HappyHourSport, he did a couple detailed write-ups on a 2015+ audio instalation including door panel removal -
Did you buy your Edge new? Mine had the factory bracket in back in one of the storage bins with install hardware.

By the back seats? They clip to the headrest posts

Enhanced Active Park Assist Fail?
redlancer replied to cjh's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
My assumption is it centers the car between the cars on either side. I've tried it in an empty parking lot, and I don't recall it finding any spaces (even though there was nothing but spaces) I don't think it can see the lines, just detect the cars/objects on either side. I can definitely see an entire thread of pictures showing comically bad parking jobs as performed by the park system But overall, yes, I agree it generally works as advertised if not a bit quirky at times. -
Looks really good, though the styling on the MKX nose always throws me off a little... I need to check out the Revel system, I have yet to hear any negative reviews on it.

My new Edge is "pulling and veering" to the left...ANNOYING!!!

Not sure if the specs would be different, but I think the underlying suspension geometry is completely different. The 2015+ is built on an entirely different chasis/platform than the previous models. -

I think that actually changed for the 2015+ to standard 6.5 all the way around (at least for the Sony system, not sure on the other OEM systems) Check HappyHourSport's thread for pics and description -
Agreed, we need some lowering springs

I can tell I have a couple of fingers of extra headroom after 6 months, so the seat base has softened up a bit.

I've seen a few discussions about this on the seats in the current gen Edges. I think the discussion landed somewhere between the best seats ever and the worst seats ever depending on who was posting the reply... Mine (2015 sport) seem to be fairly comfortable for me except on the back of my left leg. The left seat bolster always seems to have a pressure point that I can never quite adjust away. Other than that seems fine and I'm also pretty big (250 6'5")

HappyHourSport has done a couple of nice write-ups on some 2015 audio upgrades. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19493-completed-custom-subwooferampspeaker-install-with-pics-and-diagrams-for-2015-sport-lots-of-pics/ I think he ended up putting some 6.5 Focals in the fronts. From what I remember the 6.5 mids went in fine but the tweeter was a tricky fit in the stock location. I have a set of focal PS165's from my old car/install that I'm looking to put in the Edge, so look forward to seeing your results. -
I was assuming 35 series tires, but could be 35 in. not clear from original post. I would think either would look odd.

For wheels, plastidip would probably be an easier option if you've never looked into it. Nowadays just as many color and finish options as vynyl and easier to apply/remove. dipyourcar.com

wrong bolt pattern I believe 2011 is 5x114.3, 2015/16 is 5x108 Might be able to get some kind of adapter.

VBOX TESTED: 91 LMS/K&N FILTER AGGRESSIVE + SHIFT TUNE
redlancer replied to GT500R's topic in Transaxle (FWD)
Electronic tuning for the engine, which includes modification to the transmission shifting. LMS is in Detroit unless your looking at something else. http://www.livernoismotorsports.com For the most part having a turbocharged engine is required, tuning a n/a engine isn't really going to do much. Side topic: seems kind of weird this topic ended up in the FWD powertrain transaxle section after the 2015+ thread got blown up. If anything should be in the 2.7EB forum since this tune/thread is very specific to that engine (?) -
Just adhesive. I took mine off about a week after getting the car. Just warmed it up with a heat gun and ran some floss behind it, came right off. Hit the left over sticky with some adhesive remover and polished it up, would never know any emblem was there.

Hopefully you'll get a better response to the problem. So far the service departments just give one of these -->

Outside door handles: OEM vs aftermarket
redlancer replied to Lifeisabeach's topic in Exterior & Body
Yup, that's is. There's a plunger in the bottom that you press when ready to spray that activates the mix. Like it says on the site make sure you have a respirator, it's pretty caustic stuff. -

if you go the automotivetouchup.com route, get the catalyzed clearcoat spraycan to go along with the base color (instead of just the regular gloss clear can). It's about 2.5x as much, but dries about as hard as OEM clearcoat. Should make the handles quite a bit more durable, I can see regular spray paint getting worn off. -
I checked mine and both fobs are set as admin. Just no ability to access the remote start climate controls.

Same one as here: (post 9 & 10) http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/18586-where-is-the-cargo-security-shade/
