  1. Picked up a 2015 Edge Sport with MFT a couple months ago, and despite all the bad press over the years am relatively satisfied with the MFT and Sync system. One feature I liked was the ability to find locations on my home PC via mapquest and then send the directions to the Sync Services so I pull it up on the nav once in the car. Apparently this used to be available in Google maps, but that went away, and lately (last few weeks) mapquest is no longer working with Sync and gives me a "Could not connect to Ford Sync service" error when trying to send directions to my account. This used to work fine, so I don't think is user error on my end. Do any of the regular online map sites still work with Sync? - SJ
  2. Loaded right up on mine: so much smoother and faster.... or just some fun with photoshop -SJ
  3. Maybe the sales person grabbed the wrong manual/documentation pack? There's probably another 15 Titanium running around that was delivered to the dealer about the same time with your card and you have his.
  4. I went with the AS's on my 21's and they have been great. Granted I don't have the summer-only tires to compare against, but I always ran summer tires on my WRX I owned before the Edge and haven't noticed much difference in the 'spirited' corners I take on my commute (other than the obvious physical handling differences between an Edge and a WRX) Noise level is low, dry and wet performance seem fine. We do get occasional snow around where I live, so we'll see how they do in the winter. If they perform well I would consider getting OEM replacements when the time comes. Normally tires are the first thing I look forward to upgrading, but so far these have been good. If their winter performance isn't as good as hoped, will probably split off to a Summer + winter tire/wheel option. -SJ
  5. My takeaway from this thread is where can I get a nice service manual like that without spending a butt-load of monies? -SJ
  6. dunno. I was going by this sheet for the edge: https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North%20America/US/2015_Specs/2015_Edge_Specs.pdf and found the weight of the MKX on Edmunds That spec sheet doesn't break down the weight by engine though, and I can't imagine the 3.5, 2.7, and 2.0 all weigh the same.
  7. answering my own question, the data I found lists the AWD Edge at 4078lb and the MKX at 4236lb So that could be just enough to take off some of the 'edge' of the MKX, especially if Ford is being a little bit liberal with the hp ratings. -SJ
  8. What's the weight difference? Wouldn't take too much in extras on noise dampening, suspension, etc to eat into that 20hp gain.
  9. Finally got a chance to stop by the dealer yesterday to have them take a look. As expected they didn't really have an idea and couldn't get it to work either. They tried getting a hold of the Ford tech line but hadn't gotten through before they said they would just call me back in after they heard more. I tried telling them all of this before hand, but I think the service shop assumes it's consumer error in about 90% of the cases with anything tech (i.e. Dell support guy asking if the computer is plugged in)... Just had to wait 2 weeks for them to tell me to come back later I'm guessing the next step will be when they call me back to tell me i need a new/reflash on one of the dash control modules
  10. Just drove 3.5 hours non-stop yesterday and seats were great (2015 Sport). Probably the most comfortable seats I've had in a vehicle. Previous cars were 4 Dodges and 2 Subarus, mostly smaller hatchback size. at 6'5" 250lb they ride a lot nicer than my old Impreza seats.
  11. Picked it up at the dealer today. Same part number on box as listed above and is the roller style as seen in a few of the pictures. Fits well and no rattles or anything.
  12. Nope, that post talks about both. Picture and part number a couple posts below that.
  13. Check post #291 http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17267-2015-edge-shipping I have one on order with the dealer, hopefully will be the right one
  14. build date of June 24, picked up July 17. Went back July 30 for front window tint and the dealer had a few new edges on the lot. xbillnh - did you ever take delivery of your Edge? I think we had about the same original order date around the end of April. -SJ
  15. Thanks rkirk, good to know. I'll make an appt with the service dept to take a look. Hopefully won't get the "I don't know" blank stare... -SJ
  16. bump for same issue on my Sport. Remote start works fine, but can't change any of the climate settings under the remote start menu (options there but grayed out / non-selectable) . Wondering if anybody else sees this issue or had a fix. My guess is an update to the inst. panel software. -SJ
  17. Looks reasonable to me for a vehicle that Ford doesn't sell with a hitch option. Any noticeable effect to the hands-free on the lift gate? -SJ
  18. I would assume the appropriate supporting hardware modifications to convert to E85 (injectors, fuel supply system, etc), as well as the correct engine mapping and tuning. Coming from the Subaru world, this is not an unheard of thing to do, and has been done with success for quite a while. Not sure about the current gen DI engines. By no means do I think people will be actually doing this with their Edge's, was just more of a thought experiment. -SJ
  19. Good to try, but seems like most places it's really hard to find straight gas. I know of just 1 or 2 places in the Seattle area, and I think those are commercial truck stations that take a membership/card. -SJ
  20. That definitely makes more sense. E85 is a whole other animal. Though I would love to see a 2.7TT tuned for E85 Would probably give it a good bump to a healthy 350hp. -sj
  21. I actually took a tape measure to the dealer hoping for the magical 48" width You'd think they could squeeze another inch or two in there, having a 4' cargo width has to be a relatively common wish list request. I guess then the response is to go buy a truck... -SJ
  22. It's an issue that's been popping up on the 2015's, something with the front door seal I think: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17965-driver-floor-is-soaking-wet/ -SJ
  23. Looking nice I'm glad I waited and did a factory order for the 21"s (they weren't even available yet when I ordered) Should look great with the ruby red metallic, hopefully just a couple more weeks to wait. -SJ
  24. I also placed an order on 4/29. Sport, 401A, 21" wheels. Got a VIN on 5/23 and told build date should be around 6/22. -SJ
  25. I also just jumped over from the Subaru scene (in Seattle area as well). Selling the WRX to make room for the Edge and family I think will be a common upgrade path for the Subaru guys looking for something a little sportier than the current round of Legacys and Foresters. I’ve even seen a few reviewers refer to the Edge Sport as the 'WRX of family cars'. I don't know if I'd go that far, but seems to be a step in the right direction. For the downshift, not to sound the Subaru guy in the room, but I bet there will be some tunes for it. I've been watching 5startuning.com and a few other Ford tuner sites and I think will happen sooner than later since the 2.7 will likely be a popular engine in Ford's lineup. Sounds like there’s already some good tunes for the 2.7 in the F-150, so should easily carry over. Not sure on the wheels, I would expect them to be offered, but might be ridiculously overpriced through Ford. I was hoping to use some of my Subaru wheels for winter, but this year’s Edge seems to have switched over to a 5x108 bolt pattern instead of the previous generations 5x114.3 Since I was doing a factory order, I just went with the 21's. Hopefully won't be too dark, not a huge fan of black wheels. -SJ'
