  1. Pretty much, yes. To look cool and set apart some of the trim level options. Feds just want 2 taillights and center brake light, anything beyond that is extra for the manufacturer to design and implement, and they're going to pass that cost along to the customer.
  2. Pretty sure 2015+ Edge is different drivetrain than the 2007-2014.
  3. yeah, just kind of sits there. I put the little tabs in the very rear down over the cover to pin it down a little and seems to help. if you want the OEM option roller cover, the part number is: Cover: FT4Z-5845440-AA seems like something it should come with, but I guess whatever they can charge extra for... I bought one and it works well, fits well.
  4. Nice comparison. As far as updates, I think separate threads or a combined thread works. If anything this won't be a 2015 specific topic for much longer with the 2016+ sports hitting the street.
  5. pretty much, yes: According to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty of your vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part was the cause of or contributed to the failure of the vehicle (15 U.S.C. 2302 ©) http://www.autoanything.com/popups/MossWarranty.aspx Not to say they won't try to deny any claims for any reason, but there is legal recourse if you feel you're in the right.
  6. I have a sport and it isn't active. Kadaro said his son has an SEL and it is active (but not in his own SEL) I'm pretty sure it's supposed to work on any vehicle with the remote start option.
  7. I believe the stock all seasons on the 21's are these (tirerack link): Pirelli Scorpion Verde Though if you're getting to keep the 20's I'd get some good dedicated snows/summers for each set. All seasons do okay in the winter, but nothing like some real snow tires for the ice and snow.
  8. I still haven't had them look at mine again, figuring it would be a similar run-around. When they looked at it the first time all I got after a couple hours of them trying to make wasn't much more than a shoulder shrug. I always love when the service departments default answer is "We think that's how it's supposed to work" Let us know if they find a resolution.
  9. well, technically speaking a warranty can't be 'voided'. You can just have warranty claims denied if it can be shown that a given modification caused the failure of the part in question.
  10. Nice I've been running the 91 tune since getting the livernois device last week (mainly based on your reviews and testing ) and really liking it. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the new 91 map.
  11. First Ford. Came over from the Subaru world after about a decade. So far the new Sport is great, essentially a WRX for grown-ups
  12. Lower looks great. Hopefully some springs get released for the 2015 sooner than later. I've personally never been a fan of black wheels, but they are a popular look. Growing up in the NW I've just always mentally associated black wheels with winter wheels. Of course I have the OEM 21's which are charcoal color, but plan to dip them a more interesting color come spring.
  13. I got the 2015 Sport with everything except the pano roof. Deciding factor for me was to get the extra couple inches of headroom. I used the money I saved on the pano roof option for the 21" wheels instead I've had cars with and without sunroof/moonroof, but don't really miss it.
  14. I'd go option 2, those Focals on separate active channels would be interesting to hear with essentially infinite control over the levels and frequency control. I noticed over on that Focus forum thread that there were some complaints of the front channels on the factory amp seeming to be overly signal processed/eq'd. Looked like a lot of those guys were using the summed rear channels and getting a flatter frequency to play with. I would imagine that core-1 could remove any weirdness in the signal coming in.
  15. Excellent posts, glad to see the system continuing to evolve. I have a set of PS165 components from a previous install and am glad to see the same ones going into your edge. A few questions about your current set of upgrades: Did the Focal tweeters mount up well in the OEM location? When I had them in my Subaru I had to get pretty creative to get them into the OEM A-pillar /door-panel sails. I was running PS165s at about 60w ea off of an older 4-channel Kicker. My guess is they sound even better off of that newer 100w Alpine. Are you leaving the center channel speaker in? Did your resistor set-up fix the low-load noise issue?
  16. I think just about everybody with the sport has AWD. I can't imagine it's more than 5-10% FWD, I would guess less.
  17. HappyHourSport did a pretty good write up on his 2015 audio install and has some good tips on the door panels: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19493-completed-custom-subwooferampspeaker-install-with-pics-and-diagrams-for-2015-sport-lots-of-pics/?do=findComment&comment=143914
  18. sheesh, you guys seem so bitter about it.. its a cover, not fake brakes. the engine has a plastic cover completely for aesthetics, but I prefer to have it to clean up the look of the engine bay. The back has a roller cover to compartmentalize the 'trunk' even though it's technically useless. Just a little color to break up the gray tires with gray wheels and gray discs and gray brake hardware.
  19. For the A-pillar, I didn't have to pop it off. There was enough give to just slip the wiring under it using a trim tool (essentially a plastic butterknife). Actually didn't pop any panels off. Easily slipped under the rear view mirror pod and headliner. I have a mini0806 cam in mine, but looking to upgrade. Couple of the higher end models have multi-channel for front/back and built in wi-fi and iPhone/Android app enabled viewer. Was looking at the BlackVue DR650GW 2CH today, but might be too pricey.
  20. Thanks MNTN, was able to get up in there and finally get my dash cam hardwired. Good advice on the circuit #23, was way easier to pull one and be done.
  21. Thanks MNTN, that does help. Getting under there is hard enough, not having to experiment on what fuse to tap will make things a lot easier
  22. Same combo as me Lug nuts are regular steel color, calipers also regular silver color
  23. CARiD did respond and said they were sure they would fit. On my 3rd try I did get them to go on, you just have to really flex the tabs more than you think you should. Not really the most machined precision piece I've ever seen, more like 'kinda close if you give it some elbow grease and a rubber mallet' precision. Overall they look reasonable behind the OEM 21's. Will grab a few pics.
  24. They're okay. A lot easier than doing a caliper disassemble for painting or powder coating (and arguably some guys think that looks even worse). I've done both and thought I'd try the easy 5-minute solution this time. Looks like it would actually cut down on some brake dust getting to the wheels so some, albeit limited, function. Obviously going with some Brembos or Stoptechs would be amazing, but $2-$3k for what's essentially a cosmetic upgrade tends to be a bit overkill.
