  1. Lease? Then I'd go with the ones that look best to you. Buy? I'd go with the 20s. I think the 20s have a timeless look vs. the 21s that are running with the all black trend that, possibly, down the road may be harder to sell. Plus 21s will run more when replacing tires...don't have to worry about that with a lease unless you burn through some tires. Just my 2 cents.
  2. You have any pictures of it installed on your vehicle?
  3. Oh I know. I contacted Ford Credit first and they have sent me the proper paperwork. I need to fill out their paperwork and submit for approval. Once approved, I have to submit proof of insurance. Then the lease is transferred to me. I then have to register the vehicle in VA which I've already contacted the DMV and was told exactly what to bring with me. I'll have to get an inspection/emissions done first though which I'll have done at the dealer when I'm in there soon. The biggest hurdle will be sales tax. VA will exempt you from paying sales tax if you have purchased/leased the vehicle in the past 12 months and have proof you paid sales tax in another state. I can do that with the original paperwork for the lease. And I can provide a registration card from Michigan. I think i should be safe.
  4. Yup. I'm going to just go through with a transfer and make it right. Just the thought of going to the VA DMV makes me want to die.
  5. I called Progressive and they said I'd have to have 2 policies that would end up giving me a discount. The pricing was pretty darn high. Not so much for the Mustang here in VA (that was comparable to what I pay now). But for the Edge it was pretty damn $$$ to have a Michigan policy.
  6. This is what I got back from insurance when I tried to change it online: "Please note that, in order to list your vehicles as being registered in Michigan, your policy must be rated for the state of Michigan. If you have recently moved from Michigan, you will need to register your vehicle in your new state. Most states allow 30 days from the date you first move to the state to register your vehicles."
  7. I'm trying not to red-flag my policy at this point. If I have to start a 2nd policy, that can get pricey for me since I wouldn't get the multi-car discount.
  8. Oh and if you are washing the car with the key in your pocket, it'll lock/unlock when you are washing around the door handle.
  9. Leased vehicle using mom as Lessee and myself as Co-Lessee. Did this in order to score a killer deal. Mom lives out of state so it is registered there. I put the Edge on my insurance policy which also has my 2nd vehicle (titled and registered in my state). Did some changes to my policy online last night and noticed that the "Registered" state on the Edge says VA when it should say MI. So I go to make the change which produces an error saying a MI policy would have to be written up. So what are my options here? Is the car technically covered? Or would the insurance company try to weasel out of any coverage if something did happen. I was thinking, if needed, I just do a lease transfer solely in to my name and having it registered here (which would tack a few thousand on in the long run because of personal property tax).
  10. I'm with you on this. I touch that rib and hear it lock. But I'm not sure since it makes the same sound as unlocking. I wish it did a quick, low two beeps (non horn) that was for locking only. So I too will grab my FOB and lock it that way to make sure.
  11. I still don't like the Intelligent Lock system on the Edge. Too many times I grab the handle and it sounds like it unlocks, I pull the handle, and it is locked. Then I hear it again, but still nothing. So either my hand is hitting the ribbed area or it is just finicky. I compare it to the Lexus system. When you touch the handle it unlocks. Everytime. The "Lock" is a button on the handle you push lightly. Much better system IMO.
  12. For Geico it falls under Comprehensive. I have a $100 deductible for Comprehensive because one of my cars is stored outside at night. And after having my car keyed a while back, it is worth the few more bucks a month to only have a $100 deductible.
  13. I drove in front of a Titanium last night that had the halogens. Didn't like the fact they have a color difference between the LED Fogs (or whatever they are considered) and the headlights. I have the same issue with my mustang. Big fogs between the headlights are halogen while my headlights are HID. I need to get some bulbs for my Fogs that will match the color of my HIDs.
  14. My phone is attached to me like my hand. The chances of me locking my phone in the car, locking my key in the car, and forgetting the code would be really, really rare. And at that point I'd see it as a sign not to drive.
  15. I put the code in my phone so I can access it if I forget.
  16. I have set it off a few times along with having the hatch lift. But I usually don't keep it in my pant's pocket. I'll keep it in my coat/sweater pocket or leave it near the door.
  17. There really isn't any information on if their is a hold or why there may be a hold. Example of what could happen: A problem could have been discovered on 10/1. All current vehicles at the factory are now considered "on hold". From 10/1-1/10, they find the root cause and develop a fix. That fix is immediately implemented on the line. 10/15 - Your Edge is built with the fix. So it is cleared to ship. From 10/10 - whenever, they work on testing and applying the fix to those vehicles already built before 10/10 that are at the factory.
  18. Non-transferable to another vehicle. It is pro-rated so you could get a refund.
