  1. My Mustang had quiet brakes from the factory. When they were ready for replacement, i picked up new rotors (Centric) and OEM pads. I had some squealing issues so I swapped the pads for Hawk and the squealing went away.
  2. I too notice the hood does move up/down a little while on the highway. I think I just don't notice it anymore vs. it having my attention. Has been like that from the day I picked it up.
  3. So wouldn't every Edge leak then? Since they all used the same foam sealer?
  4. It is an odd smell....but one I've come to enjoy. Because it means I'm in a new vehicle.
  5. Normal. I just had my muffler replaced and the smell has been there with the new exhaust when I pull it in the garage.
  6. It isn't really paranoia. It is just risk mitigation. I never had any leak, but still had the fix done to my Edge as soon as the notice came out. I don't worry when it rains...I just make a mental note to check the floors just in case. I'm actually worried more about my Mustang in the rain because of some water that was getting in to the doors and sloshing around. I believe the solution was to unclog the door drains which never had been done for the 5 years I've owned it. No issues since then. And the roof/gutters are another concern of mine.....even though I rent the place.
  7. If you have been getting poured on and have driven in the rain, a leak probably would have made itself known by now. I always check just to be safe. After the car has been in rain, I'll lift my weatherteach mats and feel around the drivers floor to see if there is any sign of moisture.
  8. I'd be curious if the foam sealer used on your Edge was defective? Not the correct mix/solution? Because there are plenty of Edges out there with the factory foam sealer with zero leaks.
  9. Go to the ETIS site, click Vehicle tab, type in your VIN, learn your build date.
  10. The leak was not a design flaw. It was a production error (robot not applying sealer where it should be).
  11. When I picked up my Mustang in 2010, I thought I'd really miss the moonroof. But didn't. So when I picked up the Edge, I wanted one without because I'd be hauling stuff on the roof racks and was not comfortable with that huge piece of glass being up there. There is not a day that goes by where I think "Oh it would be nice to have a sunroof". I've had my fair share. Usually just MEH.
  12. It would be nice if there was some sort of standard(s) the industry could use for accessories like radar detectors and dash cams. Yea we have the 12v plug, but that is outdated. A simple connector that has power that is located in the rear view mirror. Something similar to a micro-USB that the electronics industry could all use on their devices.
  13. The muffler finally arrived and had it installed today. So far so good.
  14. Built in October and still sitting/waiting? Yea I'd be inclined to look elsewhere too. Something isn't right.
  15. Maybe it is just this area or something...but it is not normal for the Ford dealer to offer a loaner. They'll shuttle you back/forth and that is about it. Now if you buy a Lexus, BMW, Infiniti, NIssan, etc...you'll get a no loaner no problem.
  16. Since it doesn't have an affect on performance, I really don't have a reason to demand a rental. Even then, this dealer doesn't offer rentals on these types of repairs. The one bad thing about a lot of Ford dealers is their lack of loaners. I know of one local that offers loaners for $10/day (which they usually wave) but they have limited stock of loaners so you must be there early.
  17. This is becoming an issue with my dealer it seems. Had the car in there on the 16th of November. They say they'll have to replace the muffler, they ordered the part, and it'll arrive in a few days. Since I have a 2nd car I told them to keep the Edge for a few days. After 3 days nothing so I call and they say the part should have arrived, but it hasn't. I told them I'd just pick it up and call me when the part arrives. So far nothing. I have called them multiple times and my service adviser just says: "It was ordered, but hasn't arrived.". So I just went over his head and called the parts department to see WTF is going on. Last week they tell me they ordered it, a shipping notice is sent to them, but it never gets shipped. Then they say the Ford Parts Depot received a batch of mufflers so it should be on the way. As of last Friday, nothing. Called today and they said there is a note on the order to contact order processing. So the guy in parts said he'd call me back today. Doubt it'll happen. This dealer is close by but I have other options that aren't much further. It seems if they aren't prompted by receiving a shipment or receiving a phone call, they aren't proactive at all to get things resolved. So almost a month later, still the same muffler. Come on Ford.
  18. If drying your car results in a piece of the plastic coming loose, something is not right.
  19. From an ex-michigander....ride safe. I miss snowmobiling so much but there is reallly no where close to me that gets steady snow during the winter. Used to ride up in the TC / Gaylord area for many years. I think by now with how cheap technology is, you could probably also get a camera that would mount to the back of the trailer with an LCD screen for the cabin. Much like Busses have to see what is behind them.
  20. It is just another perk to move people in to higher trimmed models. If everyone received the same options on every trim line....there would be no trim lines.
  21. Usually I'll check tire rack for shipped price to the shop. Then I'll call the shop and ask how much to mount/balance tires I'll have shipped to you. Now you'll know their mount/balance price. Then ask for a quote on the tires + mount/balance. Chances are they'll beat or match the same price it would have cost to order from Tirerack.
  22. - I have not seen any other reports of vehicles built after 4/28 having leaking issues beyond what has been reported in this thread. - No - Blank. It cleared out once I had it performed.
