  1. Anxiously awaiting this as I was going to get the Remote Access. This just plugs in with no wiring needed. I'm guessing it will cost about $500-600.
  2. Not trying to start a pissing contest here but no 2016 Ford left the factory with CarPlay enabled. That started with the 2017 model year with the Escape being the first followed by the Fusion. I believe Ford disabled CarPlay on some models with 2.0 as it wasn't supposed to be rolled out on the 2016's due to the media hub availbility. I believe that is the differences we are seeing. I know on mine and others I have dealt with that 2.0 and the correct hub is required for CarPlay. That is strange that a 2017 did not come with it enabled from the factory. https://www.google.com/amp/s/9to5mac.com/2016/01/04/carplay-ford-2016-2017/amp/?client=safari
  3. You are incorrect. My '16 Edge came with v2.0 and I added the new USB hub to enable Car Play, v2.2 is NOT needed. The USB hub to enable Car Play did not come on any '16 Edge, the '17's were the first. My '16 was one of the last built in 10/16 and needed the new hub. Go read the thread on the F150 forum and it states the same for them. Sync 3 v1.0 and v1.1 needs v2.0 or later + the certified hub for Apple Car Play. Sync 3 v2.0 only needs the certified hub for Apple Car Play. Version 2.2 is NOT required for Car Play.
  4. If your Edge was built after 7/16 it should be 2.0 already. You will only need to swap out the USB hub to get Car Play to work, see page 9 of this thread on how to remove the old one from the backside. It's still kind of a PITA as the 2 rear plugs are rather short and have to be disconnected before removing the hub. Also, when removing the old hub push the tab on the top first while holding it from the front, then push the bottom tab. HC3Z-19A387-B - Ford (blue lights) Heard it's on back-order for awhile GJ7Z-19A387-B - Lincoln (white lights) Available now to order Both hubs will work, only difference is the color of the LED rings.
  5. I've read somewhere that this update is only for Sync 3 version 1.0 to 2.2 and will brick the system if it has version 2.0. I have Sync 3 version 2.0 and would like to know how I can update to 2.2 before the official Ford release.
  6. Mine does this on occasion too when pulling up to a stop sign, even though I'm about 5 ft away from the curb. It's usually the right front sensor and happens when I first drive it for the day. I think it's related to moisture in or around the sensor as it happens more on damp or rainy days. I occasionally get a left or right front warning while stopped at a traffic light behind another vehicle even though I'm about 6 ft behind it. I just push the disable button as my lease is up soon and don't feel like taking it to the dealer only to be told "cannot duplicate issue".
  7. 2015 Edge Sport with Pano roof and 21" wheels. Likes: Effortless power Looks great Openness the pano roof makes it feel like Quiet interior Dislikes: Pano roof squeeks/creaks Poor seat back cooling (even with TSB performed) Seat comfort after 2 hour or longer drive Coverage of front OEM all-weather floor mats No 2nd row USB charge ports Factory trailer hitch not available on Sport
  8. Keep in mind that modifying the grille in that area opens up the possibility of damaging the Adaptive Cruise radar module (if equipped) from road debris, as it sits behind that area.
  9. I had the same problem with my '15 Sport. There is a SSM (Special Service Message) about the issue. Bring it to a dealer and the fix is to replace the brake booster with an updated part.
  10. I second that, no. The fix does not work. I have heard that some of the newer '16 models have perforations in the seat backs to exhaust the heat out of them? Not sure if it's true as I have not seen it myself.
  11. The only way it could rust is if you see the actual metal. If the chip is white will not rust as it's still painted.
  12. How do you have an '05 when '07 was the first year for the Edge?
  13. It's proprietary information and I'm not going down that road just so you can see for yourself, sorry. I'm not sure why you don't believe Paul or myself, or even the post about the F150's having the EXACT same seat heating/cooling design and TED's. Anyway, I'm done with this subject.
  14. The seat bottom and back each have their own TED, with a fan on each. I have seen the schematics and even taken apart a Titanium seat myself. Your mechanic does not know what he is talking about.
  15. The LED headlights on the European/China Edge's are crazy bright. Cannot even look directly at them.
  16. The repair procedure is exactly the same on both TSB's. The only difference is they updated the build dates of affected vehicles to broaden the scope. I had the update done on mine and it didn't really help.
  17. TSB 16-0053 came out last week to address the issue for vehicles built on or before 11/16/15.
  18. It's not the best to shop a payment. It's way too easy for a dealer to get you to that payment with that much down. In Mich that payment is easily possible with $0 down.
  19. 2015 Sport 401A Vista roof, 21" wheels Sticker $47,000 24 month 10,500 miles $0 down, $470 month
  20. For some reason mine stopped doing the horn honk when I leave it running. It is kind of annoying but it's a safety feature. Too many old people forgetting to turn off their cars while parked in the garage and dying from carbon monoxide poisoning.
  21. I removed the badge on mine. It's just held on with double sided tape. Makes it much easier to remove with a heat gun or hair dryer to loosen up the glue.
  22. But in the end you're not really out $2700 for them if the dealer gave you that amount for basically nothing. Sell your factory 20's and still come out ahead with the wheels you really wanted. You'll still pocket between $500-$1000 once you sell the 20's.
