Borla will probably not sell any systems for the Edge Sport, but I know that they used to sell universal mufflers that you could take to any exhaust shop and weld one. That may be out of date though as I have not checked, but I wouldn't even know where to begin with that giant suitcase like muffler we have in the back.

When it comes to sound profile, noone can beat Borla. That along with their very high level of quality is why they generally are the most expensive. However there is nothing that can be done to make the 2.7 sound good.
  3. Yup. Normal mode is really light and more comfort related. Sport adds some weight and greater responsiveness. I keep mine in sport mode all the time as I hate the overly light feel.
  4. Priorities are different when you drive alone and have yet to have children. Instead of picking fights with them, it is mostly satisfying denying them their signature drive by. Other times, it is just fun to,let the nano engine exercise itself those rare opportunities when you are first onto the highway onramp.

These days in the age of cafe, factory exhaust systems are very efficient as they want to,extract every last horsepower and fuel economy possible. Therefore you really are doing it for sound versus the 2hp you might gain at 6500+ rpms. If this was a v8 there would be more interest and thus demand as v8's are very good sounding. Most GDI and GTDI V6 setups however are not very good sounding. Im fact, the F150's with exhausts on the 2.7 do not sound very pleasant. Therefore there is no real reason to buy an exhaust. The 3.5 ecoboost is a little better sounding.
  6. Once you get it fixed, just gradually build your faith back up in the car. Fill it up with a few tanks of premium, go stomp some unsuspecting ricers with fart can mufflers, and I guarantee you will start to feel better. I am hoping it is just an isolated incident.

Yup. The demand is just not there.
  8. The unobtanium will be the first car in history that can penetrate into the earth's core as it strenthens the more pressure is exerted on it. It will also be able to convert that heat into energy to drive the electric motors and will need to be liquid helium cooled.
  9. You mean Titanium Edge? I do wish the seat bottom was a little wider and softer, but not terribly matched for the Sport trim level.
  10. Oil leaks on a new Ford are extremely rare these days. Things have just gotten that good. Definately see another dealer because that does not, sound right. Oil leaks are usually straight forward so,long as it is not something internally wrong that is destroying the gaskets or lines such as poorly machined components throwing off metal shavings like was the case in one of my Land Rovers. Why don't you post a review of the dealer in the dealer section of this site? I know that many people only find out after buying their car that they bought from a crappy dealer. You will love that twin scroll 2.0 as it continues to break in.
  11. Yeah, emotions can run tense on both sides of the fence during issues like this, but staying 100% factual with the details while remaining calm will often help you to build rapport with others and they may be much more motivated to go the extra mile. The Titanium seats must be different as I thought they were all the same except for the faux suede inserts on the Sport. A good automotive upholstery shop can actually do wonders for the comfort of your seats. I even bet your dealer knows of some they could refer you to. Due to seat frame constraints, they will not be able to turn them into Lincoln Continental like couch cushions, but they can really do wonders.
  12. Just give then a chance to do their job and get things fixed. Something this new unfortunately means there are sometimes issues that will need to be fixed. If you feel things are not progressing like they should, escalate it to the service manager, then the dealer GM. If that does nothing, your next step in the chain is with Ford's customer service hotline where a regional representative will get involved. Does your dealer offer loaners? Mine does but not all of them do. Just be polite and stay completely factual during correspondence. Once it gets resolved, I bet you will be back to loving this car again. Also give the Ford seats some time. They usually get much more comfortable after they have had a chance to break in which can take 5k miles or more.
  13. I agree that everyone should report it just to make sure. From the sound of it, this is probably an isolated incident. Ford's Edge Sport take rate has been reported to be around 10%. That means that if Ford sold 130k 2016 Edges, they sold around 1300 Sports that have active steering not including the few "all in" Titaniums that may have this option. This is the only Edge forum on the internet if you do not count the Edge Sport facebook message board and the Edge Facebook message board run by this forum's owner. If this was really widespread, we probably would have seen many more of those Sport owners chime in. I just get wierded out by this type of stuff because I am such an insanely busy person. My Toyota has a tyre that has been leaking air for the past several months and I still have not been able to take it in despite the fact that I bought a road hazard warranty for it from the Toyota dealer.
  14. It sounds to me that Ford is utilizing the Edge to roll this brand new piece of technology out. Maybe even test the waters and see how people like it. Just how cutting edge this is(pardon the pun) is pretty amazing. The tech I spoke with at the time of delivery told me that they were told that the system is designed to revert to a standard steering system in the event of failure, but this thread proves otherwise. We will have to wait and see though as it could have been just an isolated run of bad parts. Ford owns the patents as this was their baby, but I believe it is manufactured and or also engineered by some German company. I guess we should sort of be flattered to see something like this that is normally reserved for higher end luxury cars, except I precisely stick with Fords because I don't like those luxury car repair bills. Some of those German cars in particular can bankrupt you after the warranty ends. That is why everyone should post in this thread the miles they currently have or had at time of failure, build date, and where you live.
  15. My gut would tell me that perhaps people were using the ratchet to overtighten and thus strip or damage the plug or pan itself. Is this plug meant to be hand tightened?
  16. I am homestly not sure, but I am going in for my first oil change within the month so I will have to ask the techs there what they think about that. I did consider that except that I am unsure how the computer will respond to that. With it being a variable ratio system, I would also be concerned with how it would affect the effective steering ratio. When I posed this question around the time of delivery, they did tell me that it would not be easy. I am sure I can eventually get used to it, but I often back into very tight spots in underground garages downtown and I can never figure it out because I have been used to a set ratio my entire life. I also tend to oversteer making tight turns because the ratios tighten up at low speeds, but it does feel very good on the highway and on twisted roads. How many miles are you at? It seems like a lot of Canadians in this thread with active steering issues.

On an SUV, you would not want to delete any mufflers. The drone would be absolutely insane. The reality is when you look at the purpose of the Edge Sport and who is buying these, there is a reason why there is not much available in the way of performance parts. Exhaust systems can really suck in SUV's because of the open cargo area. Based on this low demand, anyone else out there who does offer something will have to charge extra as they will not be able to recoup their investment costs by sheer volume.
  18. Depends as some like it but many true driving enthusiasts will not. Until recently, I did not know that Ford was utilizing the Edge Sport to roll out this brand new technology that they have numerous patents for. I thought that it was on other vehicles in their lineup as well. While I do have an 8 year 125k mile premiumcare ESP, I am such an insanely busy person that I generally don't have time for annoyances in my life. I figured that at 8 year/125k miles, I will have gotten my monies worth out of this amazingly fun SUV if something catastrophic were to go wrong. When I have a little more time, I will have to see if there really is a way to deactivate it. Since all of the mechanisms for the active steering are inside the actual steering wheel itself, I wonder if one could just swap in a non active steering part number and get it to work if I were to have issues with it. Just to give you guys an idea of just how high tech this active steering system is, this is a system that is currently reserved for mostly high end luxury cars. Some of them do it via software combined with a steer by wire system(a VERY scary proposition for technological luddites like me). Others have very complex mechanisms in the actual steering system itself. Ford managed to develop a system that houses all of the mechanisms right into the actual steering wheel. In fact if you are OCD like I am and really pay attention, you can hear it very lightly clicking and whirring around.
  19. Did you get what his name was? There is one in our general region who really is an arrogant ass. I may have dealt with the same one before. All of these active steering issues are concerning me considering that I precisely get a new car to avoid issues like these. I have an insane schedule with absolutely no time for anything, so this is disheartening to hear. I do not like this active steering and did not want it, but Ford decided to make it standard for the 2016's. To me, it feels way too artificial and the constantly changing steering ratios are throwing me off. How many miles do you guys have and what is your build date? Maybe there is a pattern?
  20. Before folks go on putting on some bigass rims, keep in mind that bigass rims are heavy as hell. Every extra pound of reciprocating weight equals adding 7 actual pounds to your car. Trying to handle all of that extra reciprocating weight means that it is going to put a LOT of extra stress on your drivetrain. It is not uncommon to have hub problems, breaking CV joints and half shafts, as well as premature transaxle bearing wear because it now has to rotate all of that extra weight. Then you have a suspension that will likely wear out quicker as well. All of that extra rotating mass means that your brakes now have a helluva lot more work to do. Especially when you go with these massive rims, a brake upgrade needs to come first. It may feel like it is stopping okay, but fade will likely set in much quicker during emergency braking. Those big rims also not only damage much easier, but have a tendency to fatigue much quicker than regular rims. That means that they will have a tendency to crack and start developing stress related structural changes. Also did I mention just how heavy they are when you try to rotate your tires or take them on and off?
  21. With the fact that he modified the TB which alters the airflow patterns into the engine, the first step would be to have his tune adjusted. It could be as simple as a computer not being able to figure things out. Anything beyond a simple intake or catback exhaust will almost always mandate a reprogram.
  22. Nothing but the good stuff at Willies Roadhouse on Sirius XM.
  23. 1985 Chevy Van with three on the tree. Developed a fuel leak and caught on fire at 60k miles while waiting at a busy intersection.
  24. I also second that you should be careful with your AWD setup. It is more of a car based setup that is not designed to be abused. While in Alaska, I saw multiple Edges along with other mildly AWD vehicles overheat their PTU's when trying to drive in deep snow. I am sure that our new Edge systems are more reliable, but it is still the same basic setup. It is basically the limitations you face in FWD based systems. Those of us with the Sports especially need to be cautious due to these massively wide 265 21 inch tires. If you can afford it, a set of snow tires on a new set of rims would be very beneficial as the stock tires are not designed to handle more than light snow.
  25. If the dealers are not willing to budge on price, then you could save money by being willing to drive. If you find what you want, just shop dealers. Most dealers have an online or internet sales department or specialist. Even if you factor the cost of the trip, it could save you money. Are Edge supplies tight in your area? Our area sells a ton of Edges, but they do not appear to be supply constrained as the dealers appear to always be well stocked.
