  1. Wow. I cannot believe that you found a Sport with the 20's instead of these massive 21's. The 21's look good, but they are extremely heavy and likely easy to damage in cities like mine where the roads are horrendous. I believe the drivers package he is talking about is the active cruise control system as that appears to be the only other option besides the 21's that are not on this Sport. The Sport comes standard with the active steering which I personally cannot stand.

I have wondered what the logic of making only a FWD system was as I would wager that the fast majority of Edge sports on the market are AWD.

Any pictures of the system? Is it a rear section exhaust or a full catback? I was surprised to learn that the Edge Sport comes with a true dual exhaust system stock.
  4. What happened? The Edge is a fairly reliable SUV, but there are some recurring issues with the early 2015's that we can help you with.
  5. Also did you get a tune when you replaced the TB? Throttle body upgrades almost always need a new tune as the computer will have trouble getting things right if there is a change in airflow. My Sport and other 2015+ Sports mostly do it at very low, rpms in 6th gear.Once you are above 59mph, it goes away. Also I only see it on the tachometer, but do not feel it unless I am going up a steep highway incline in 6th gear.
  6. The hotline said it is within normal limits. Unofficially, someone thinks it is sloppy programming. I can tell you that it did the same thing on 2 other sports which were also 2016's. It feels like fluctuations in boost at those low rpms as each little mini surge in accompanied by a very light rushing air noise. Ironically, I was in an Enterprise F150 rental today with the 2.7 and it did not do it.
  7. My understanding has been that only Lincoln dealers can do that here in the US. Do you know if it's availability is regional?
  8. Not to mention the significantly lower filtering efficiency which means you suck more dirt and bigger dirt particles. I cannot stand how companies like K&N market their products with sensational claims of +xx% fuel economy and +yy power gains.
  9. Just know that your dealer cannot promise any factory rebates, so make sure they have it in writing. When it comes to incentives, Ford gives you what is currently available at the time of delivery. With the automotive market slowing, I do not see that changing but just be aware of that. The dealer has hold back, but there is not a whole lot else unless there are dealer cash incentives which the dealer may or may not choose to share with you.
  10. I suspect the Edge faces some difficulty because it is inbetween the big classes which are the compact SUV and the 3 row midsize SUV classes. Not bad numberwise, but not a lot of potential to grow.

Video or it never happened :p
  12. I think you need to evaluate your relationship with this dealer. If you cannot trust a bunch of scum like this, how can you trust they fixed it right or did not screw something else up?
  13. I do not see them available for the current Edge yet, but I see it available for the last generation Edge on Tire Rack right now. The Stoptech cryo treated heat slotted rotors are $137 each. I have exclusively used these rotors on my previous cars combined with Hawk HPS pads which are very aggressive. I hope this becomes available for our Edges by the time I get to needing new pads and rotors. Drilling out rotors actually weakens the rotor as there are a few articles floating around that discuss them. This makes them very susceptible to cracking which I have seen in the past causing horrible brake failure. Some of the exotic cars that come with drilled rotors take that into account in the design. Their use began as a way to reduce fade due to the outgassing from pads that were being overheated.
  14. Exactly. K&N is nothing but snake oil with their lofty claims 30+hp and 3 mpg gains. We live in the era of cafe. If these oiled filters really offered those gains without negatively impacting the Powertrain, Ford would have been using them. Lots of tests on the Internet and especially one that the Powerstroke guys did show the truth about just how bad filtering efficiency can be. The only application where these filters have valid use is off-road crossing deep streams as the oil lowers the risk of sucking water in. You beat me to it. People do not understand the insane tolerances in the turbos as they really are as tight as jet engines. It just is not worth it to get an extra 2-5hp.
  15. I would highly recommend against going with cross drilled or cross slotted rotors on a street car. You are actually reducing the total surface area able to absorb the frictional heat and creating potential for cracking or warping. Many exotic cars are designed from the beginning for their setups. Instead, a better option would be cryogenically treated rotors combined with heat slots.
  16. It is Northgate Ford in Cincinnati and I work with Vicki Wilburn. The only time you may fail to get a discount is if you have a ton of negative equity on the trade in.
  17. Keep us updated. That sounds scary. Stories like yours terrify me as my dealer is so amazing and I will be moving next spring.
  18. I am like a broken record, but I recommend avoiding oiled filters like this. Do a search as there are plenty of tests which show that K$N's are not what people think. When clean, they have much lower filtering efficiency which means you let not just more dirt into the engine, but also bigger sized particles. Tests also show that flow resistance goes up drastically as the filter becomes dirty.
  19. Our engine is rated on premium so it may be worthwhile from a performance standpoint in your climate. Motortrend tested about a half second difference to 60 mph and the 1320 in the Edge Sport when on regular. If you have a Costco membership, they have excellent prices on top tier premium.
  20. It could come as early as 7 weeks, or it could be as late as 12 weeks. It just depends on a lot of logistics related factors. When I ordered my Lincoln MKT for fleet use when I had my business, it took just over 12 weeks because they could not get it on an available train. Either way, congrats as you will love that engine. It is not fast, but it has torque which makes it easy to drive and feels good.
  21. considering he lives in Miami, that might explain it as that is also a congested mess.
  22. I have always liked how Fords come with a real horn. That is what a horn is supposed to do, not try to be polite and put out a squeak like Japanese cars do.
  23. You forgot to tell us which engine you got and whether it is FWD or AWD! Either way, welcome!
