I don't know which models have that cooling arrangement, but can confirm that my 2017 Sport does not.

Post #472 See post #488 of a 2016 Titanium PTU, and it looks very different to yours. If that is in fact the PTU, it looks more robust than the one on the Sport.

Ford cant supply the parts I need
1004ron replied to rwf78155's topic in Accessories & Modifications
See if you can get the part numbers from them and try Amazon where a few dealerships sell parts, and if they have it then it looks like your dealership is giving you the run-around. -
That photo shows a plug on the side which definitely doesn't look like the lowest point, unless its the orientation of the photo. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10914-ptu-leak-failures/?p=170489 See photo 5 in post 466 in this thread - that is the Sport PTU and the drain plug facing the floor. Same comment made below.
-
That's not a low point drain as found on the Sport, so you'll still need an extractor to get what remains after you drain from that plug. I wonder why they did it like that, why not a drain plug as seen on the Sport?
-
Does the Sport PTU fit - I know it's water under the bridge, but just asking, because it has the drain plug.

Either your definition of driving like a miser is off, or you need to find a new competent dealership to fix it - I get a steady 22 mpg us without driving too economically. I use exclusively Costco Premium. 14.7L/100km = 16 mpg us https://www.calculateme.com/gas-mileage/liters-per-100-km-to-us-mpg

I bought a great 5 gal drain pan, and decant it into my Harley low profile drain pan to cart it off to AutoZone. https://www.autozone.com/shop-and-garage-tools/oil-drain-pan/flotool-5-gal-oil-drain/134895_0_0

I've only done two oil changes, and I think on the second one I unscrewed the filter and left it on top of its housing and the initial oil flow was not as vigorous - I'll pay attention and confirm next oil change.

transmission Transmission "sticky" in cold weather...any advice...?
1004ron replied to Arw's topic in 2008 Edge & MKX
What's your mileage and have you ever had the transmission oil changed/exchanged? -
Do you apply the same logic to the PTU?

I am one of those folks - I have no interest in any third party app, and even if Ford didn't update my OEM maps I'll live with that.
-
I have a 2017 with Sync3 - I'm in a new subdivision and my road isn't on the map yet. What does Ford intend regarding updates to my navigation maps?
-
Most likely see a quicker throttle response if you got off the throttle and immediately jabbed it again, but under what driving condition would that happen, can only see it on a stick shift gear change, or trying to impress at the lights with the transmission in Neutral pumping the throttle as seen in the YouTube videos.

https://www.amazon.com/FORD-DRAIN-PLUG-BC3Z-6730-FT4Z-6730/dp/B008Y86L0S/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1515887116&sr=1-2&keywords=ford+oil+drain+plug I have one on hand - if during an oil change I find it needs replacement I've got it handy, although you should be able to get an O-ring to match from the local AutoZone.
-
Seeing as yours doesn't have a lowest point drain like the Sport's do, it would be best to suck out as much as you can after draining from the plug you have.
-
There's an echo in here.
-
Assuming you're thinking of the metal pick tools, I don't use anything like that in fear of scoring the O-ring seating surface - I degrease it and grip it with a sheet of the blue garage paper towel for traction and squeeze it towards one side until it puckers a little, and then its easy to lever it out with a plastic tooth pick or anything like that.

Just yesterday I stocked up using Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000COX0JM/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1TO5NU8UU9MH3&colid=7FQZRUTL8DOG&psc=0 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010QU0SPU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Panoramic Sunroof Cracked
1004ron replied to Sierra's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I've had mine since March 2017 and have no issues with it so far, but then again I don't use it at all and wished I could have got everything included in my Sport except the roof. -
Cleaning wax off black plastic parts
1004ron replied to 1004ron's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
Thanks, I'll give that a try - if I don't use the compressed air can immediately after the drive through wash, which includes a towel dry, by the time I get home or the next stop the water spots are all over the side of the car, which of course is so much more noticeable on black.
