  1. @Haz please help with a guide to removed the plastic trim mentioned above.
  2. The wipers are removed to lift the plastic trim that runs across the top edge of the bulkhead. I don't see any body damage. For today's install I cannot find any fault with the glass, but notice that the plastic trim between the top edge of the windshield and the moon roof was raised in one spot - I lifted it slightly and could see one of the white nylon clips is loose and obviously not letting the trim go down all the way. I'm going to do a search to see how to lift that trim piece and correct the one clip - will go through the files @Haz posted. Edit: I can't see why they would need to lift this trim piece. Tomorrow's a bike day, so will take it through the car wash on Friday and if its leak free I'm done with Safelite - if there's an issue I'll be in touch with my insurance to see how I can get this job done by another supplier. I do not recommend Safelite.
  3. My third windshield is scheduled for installation at 3pm tomorrow - I'll report back how that goes. The install of the current windshield is good, just that I'm not prepared to live with what appears to be a factory second. Talking of Dicks and lawnmowers - I use my bike for my work commute in good weather and one afternoon I came around a fairly sharp curve to find a SOB had laid a thick bed of grass cuttings on the road - caused some sphincter pucker but got through it safely.

  5. How do you keep the engine compartment looking brand new ?
  6. That's no way to test a battery - get it load tested at a place like AutoZone. Old style trickle chargers are unsafe and high risk of damaging a battery - get a modern battery tender/maintainer.
  7. How did you do that? "seems to be ok" - not sure what's meant by that.
  8. Received the Gen 1 seal today and its not suitable - its real narrow and adhesive on one side only. I got two seals - $16 incl postage. I might try this stuff on eBay. 2mm thick Size: 1” width x 50 feet long x 0.08” thickness https://www.ebay.com/itm/385653375215?hash=item59cabb80ef:g:cUMAAOSwy19keOMS&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4DEhuQlDKAbxIrwh7JZQdqagIdDb3leujxBFXVKr2ZF%2BUar2%2BzLKnAwMWidF9Zb4T55JqPqWbfyAXWOU9vAzCWLA0P0FOppJpmfxliPwS2lqAj4CUGb6UmGYUKQeYAGx6GlFI9dHrc8eaDDASHIiSZLrNYoOK66PlTk67thNusDWoZFUm0%2BFK7OOt5mRAd4Q7j9SgmuiYwkhG04JBcCnYSgvez4HFvGLnskRsawNPdlNm08RItgouR70iBe7YUe0LQFKEGm3QuBK58%2BNhxm3rvwUgw0u7NAcOnTuUuIe2nfw|tkp%3ABk9SR8bJx-uWYg I've stopped the rattle by prying it up a little and sliding in four pieces two inch long of the 3M mounting tape, but will redo the job when I find tape that I'm happy with.
  9. Welcome. Is that a 2.0L or 2.7L ? What was the stored error code? The under boost could be caused by a number of things such as waste gate, waste gate actuator, plugged CAT, ........ so will need further diagnostics.
  10. Welcome. What model - SEL, Sport, 3.5L, ........? What's the mileage? What's the service history, oil change interval? What oil and oil filter used? When you say "I noticed the engine light came back on" - do you mean the Check Engine Light or the Oil Light? 13. Yes, the second warranty replacement windshield is scheduled for installation on 6/21 at 3pm. I've remained cordial with them and they have been very pleasant to deal with. Its really puzzling me how this came to be - I can't imagine the factory would sell "seconds".
  14. What's the mileage? What is the service history? What oil change interval, what oil used, what oil filter used? The camshaft position sensor code is often related to the CVVT oil control valve getting fouled by sludge, or worse a badly worn timing chain. As I mentioned in your previous thread, it looks like you use poor quality service shops and this might be related to your current problem. 15. I thought this windshield saga was behind me - been through the car wash twice and this mornings drive to work in the rain and no leaks. This afternoon while in the drive through line at Jaggers I noticed a distortion in the glass on the lower left corner and when I got home and took a closer look its most definitely a flaw in the glass and there's about a softball sized area that shows signs of buffing. Must be a factory reject. Back on the phone to Safelite in the morning.
  16. I've done that a few times, and a couple of those times was just a week ago while installing my new 3rd brake light - no issue with mine since.
  17. Has this forum really been abandoned by the owners?
  18. What's your location - the lemon laws differ from state to state. If you haven't been keeping detailed records, now would be the time to start, and contact Ford NA yourself and get a case number from them. What Model (SE, ST, SEL) and location? - please add that to your profile signature - https://www.fordedgeforum.com/settings/signature/
  19. I find the computer MPG and total miles remaining on the tank isn't very accurate. My daily commute is about 60% interstate at 75 mph and 40% secondary roads at 60 mph and the computer indicates 21 MPG, and way back when I manually calculated it was actually around 20 MPG. A little spell of spirited driving will drop it down to 16 MPG and if I slow down and do 70 mph on the interstate I can get around 23 MPG. I've got 92K miles on the clock and the fuel consumption is unchanged from when it was new.
  20. Thanks @Haz The thickness that I'm looking for is only available in white on McMaster. Is there any chance you have a Ford part number for the original tape? I could find some but not for the 2017 Edge: https://parts.lakelandford.com/p/Ford_2017_Edge/Spoiler-Seal/53047445/9T4Z78021A46A.html
  21. I didn't use that doc, but surprised that the Ford service manual doesn't even mention the lube on the slide pins.
  22. With the good motorcycle weather, I haven't used my Sport much, but yesterday I noticed a rattle from the back which I suspect is due the much thinner double sided foam tape that I used. I'm planning to take it off and remount with thicker double-sided foam tape but can't find any - any help sourcing this or even the OEM tape would be most welcome.
