  1. I had to search for the use of the word "shilled" and still not sure if its a good or bad thing.
  2. 3 Months now with the Power Stop front brake kit and very happy with them - thanks for the heads up @snmjim
  3. The rattling undercarriage has returned, so I'll just look at doing the string wrap again, and repeat it as needed in the future.
  4. SP-542 are hard to find now - although I've got another 50K miles before I change plugs, I'll go with the NGK 95605 Ruthenium HX, unless I can find a good reason why Ford changed to the SP-578
  5. The sensors inside the tires have batteries installed and send a wireless signal to a receiver on the car at set intervals - they remain active when the wheels are off the vehicle. To conserve batteries they only transmit when the wheels rotate.
  6. Don't the wheels need to rotate for the sensors to transmit? Edit: I see your comment that they should be "sleeping" if not rotating.
  7. What type of Performance Parts, that aren't shared with the Sport, did you have in mind?
  8. I pulled one of the front spark plugs and it is in pristine condition and still at the design gap - definitely still good for another 50K miles.
  9. Anyone gone from the SP-542 to the SP-578 which Ford now list for our 2.7's ? https://shoforum.com/index.php?threads/spark-plugs-sp578-new-part-number-for-542.139471/ Or is there a better option such as the NGK 95605 which is listed for this engine on RockAuto.com - https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=9779988&cc=3310415&jsn=1829
  10. Thanks @omar302 , I commented in that thread just recently and didn't think to connect it to the symptoms - I'll definitely check that out. I'll use Forscan, and if the error code is present I'll get it addressed under warranty - I've only got 50K miles on the clock, and paid just shy of $2K for the extended warranty, so as much as I like tinkering, I'll leave it to Ford.
  11. Today, shortly after filling up at Costco, while idling waiting at a light it stumbles/misfired very lightly, and at first I thought it was the female driver on her phone that touched my bumper, but then noticed the tacho also show the irregular beat. No Check Engine light, but will connect Forscan and read the codes this weekend. I'm at 50K miles and planned to do an oil change within a week or two, and will replace the spark plugs with originals. Could someone let me know everything I should order for this job, like intake gasket etc.
  12. I'm in Louisville KY. I have a new set of Aturro tires in my garage that will get installed in a month or two, .......so if I can get these for a good price I'll store them for the next tire change in about two years from now. I'd prefer that you set a price, and of course @TrueBluFam asked first.
  13. Best you find another dealership because that one obviously doesn't keep up with notifications from Ford.
  14. IIRC I bought them off Amazon - here's another seller. https://www.amazon.com/BSLighting-Power-Headlight-Daytime-Running/dp/B071CPSWJC/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=White+80W+CREE+H15+LED+Bulbs&qid=1572823605&s=automotive&sr=1-6 https://store.ijdmtoy.com/products/led-headlight-foglamp-40-344-white?_pos=1&_sid=dbc40d052&_ss=r Got to select the correct option. https://xotictech.com/products/xotic-tech-2-super-bright-100w-high-power-cree-h15-led-bulbs-for-vw-audi-bmw-mercedes-drl-lamps This one is 100W, a little brighter.
  15. Same thing here, and this morning was much the same.
  16. Great video. Something I've changed when removing and replacing the engine cover, ....... I leave the oil filler cap in place, because the rubber grommet clears it easily and there's less risk of dust dropping into the engine.
  17. Doesn't the UPR plug also rely on an O-ring on the center part that's removed each time a service is done? - you'd need to change that internal O-ring each time - it would have the same risk of leakage as the original plug, which judging from the lack of reports and my experience is very low. Pneumatics and hydraulics use O-rings for piston sealing etc. which see a whole lot of usage and last ages.
  18. It's not, take your time with with the original plastic plug and remember you don't need to extract it in one shot, you can ease it out and control the flow.
  19. Check this thread and the below image showing the dipstick, which doesn't extend down to the bottom of the sump - not sure if yours is different, but let me know if it works for you.
  20. Yes, your third party drain plug is just as unlikely as the original plug to impact your warranty. But your comment "I believe Ford recommends changing it every time" is not correct, and that is the only point I was making.
  21. You're mistaken in your belief that Ford calls for the drain plug to be replaced at every oil change, ......... the dealerships don't change it at every oil change. You face the same risk of warranty being void if the third party plug you're using fails. Poll: I have yet to replace the oil drain plug 56%
  22. I don't have any mess issues with the plastic drain plug, and have a spare one on hand but still using the original after 2.5 years and 9 oil changes.
