  1. Ok, just got to ask. I've had 2 edges both with this system and have never used them. Touch the door handle, yes key in my pocket, and it unlocks. No key, use the phone app. What's the big need i'm missing?
  2. My Edge has a long wat to go, and there will be countless options available by then, and yes, we will be forced away from combustion. My main concern is getting next generation EV such as Solid State or possibly Hydrogen. Not interested at all in current Lithium as too expensive, too long to charge, and too short a range, capacity drops over time, and too few chargers out there compared to growing EV purchases. If you ever have the need to tow, good luck finding a charger you can pull into with your trailer attached. Since Toyota leading currently in Solid State, may switch back to them. Never had any issues with our Toyotas. Still feel Hybrid better, our Priuses went well over 100,000 with zero issues and over 51 mpg. Retail much more affordable than Lithium too. Love my Edge but the new Prius is gorgeous and finally has some HP. They hold a lot, one time a fit an outdoor lounge chair in it and the tail gate still closed.
  3. Thought I'd update my previous post now that engine broken in. 87 Octane, air conditioner on, doing 40 percent high speed driving, rest is slow on twisty roads with mixed sport mode and/or paddle shifting (currently in WNC). Getting avg 25 mpg according to onboard computer. Hwy driving alone cruise set to 78 mph get 28 mpg
  4. While I have the newer v6, a lot of people here say burn only 91octane. I use 87 and it runs perfect. I towed once or twice and did use 91 for that, but otherwise the car runs perfect on 87. My manual says designed to burn 87 octane, no lower, but "recommended" is 91. I understand 91 better under harsh conditions, but otherwise it seems not needed. Conspiracy people will tell you the oil companies get them to raise the recommended octane, others just because it may ignite more controllably, but fact is manual says engine designed to burn 87 octane. That may be why it runs better
  5. Interesting. Wonder if after the free trial if it still updates maps or is stuck on last one downloaded. I do like it for general around town or short distances, but as others have indicated, I use Google maps mostly which doesn't stop working when cell towers lost intermittently. Guessing would be an issue if lost for 100 miles or so if not predownloaded. I have noticed if I use Google maps to look at trip planned before getting in car it asks if I want to download maps for route.
  6. You are not alone. Mine has been stuck on 22-2204. The Ford app shows my last activity was 10-7-22. My "Auto Update" however is on, wasn't prior to this version. Haven't been to dealer yet... they want the car all day, no loaner, and they are 1 hour away.
  7. JB Weld might hold it in. You mention you got a screw in there, so assuming still a hole not a broken bottom piece of the bolt. Maybe just thread it, and locktite a stronger bolt? You should definitely consult with a mechanic or custom car fabricator before making problem possibly worse.
  8. That must be one loaded ST. I bought mine Dec 2021 new, Only options NOT on it were larger brakes, Tech package/sunroof. Total MSRP was $45,240 and sold it to me for around $42,000 and got 5 year zero financing. Also matched my Carvana price which was more than I paid for my trade in. I know it's a year later, no more zero financing, but this was right in the middle of no cars on lots and most dealers adding crazy markup prices. Car dealers finally are getting inventory and reports are their sales are really slowing. Find a new dealer. PS Yea, velour seats with leather bolsters are the in thing now. A lot of cars have them. My last car had them too and it was the top of the line. The Car play issue isn't just Edge, it's a known issue across all platforms, AA also is hit and miss, but mine is finally working good after multiple updates from Google. Aure it will break again with the new Coolwalk interface coming out.
  9. My son has the new 2022 Tuscan. Very nice. Side by side the Edge is slightly bigger, length and I believe width. He feels my edge is better ride, quieter, and more comfortable for longer rides. Certainly he prefers my ST for power. Both are very nice cars and have similar safety features.
  10. I've noticed these seats do get hotter and heat faster than most cars I've owned. Lowest setting can feel warm when ambient is 60-70 degrees, but higher settings need to be turned down unless its real cold outside and car interior not up to a comfortable temp. Certainly the higher settings are not meant to be left on after interior warms up, more so when car left outside overnight and you're climbing into a 30-40 degree interior. Seat gets warmed faster than car heater warms up, thank goodness.
  11. 1st place to check is another USB cable. Most of the time lost connection comes from poor/cheap or old cable. If you're talking wireless connection, lots of issues with both android and apple. I've seen phones connect perfect, then if cable wiggles, connection lost. You can try also to delete pairing on phone and car and start over.
  12. Are you saying that my 2021 ST with memory seats can be programed to tip the mirrors when placed in reverse? How? I searched settings and don't see this option. Did find easy entry to have driver seat go back and forth.
  13. Unless I am mistaken, most states, if not all, require trailer lights to not just light the license plate, but brakes and turn signals must be operative too.
  14. Use to use wireless. Comes on 2021standard. Stopped using it as long drives kills battery real fast, particularly if playing music with GPS active. Also gets confusing when wife gets in car and we need to change phone that is mirroring. So simple solution was to go backwards and just plug the phone we want to mirror to car in the USB since it needs to stay charged anyway. Wifi works great on short drives and getting in and out around town, but that is about it. Had lots of intermittent drop connections too, but that may have been improved.
  15. The 22 has the door??? On my 2021 they removed it... And I thought I'd miss it, but don't since I keep so many USB cords in there.
  16. Had a vette that did same thing. Dealer told me it was to protect tranny and engine. Some people were trying to floor it and shift at the same time, and could cause over revs particularly if they accidently went to neutral, car could actually get over red line briefly. Think they got tired of replacing blown engines,. Saw one in shop guy had reprogrammed so it would, and they were waiting for him to write a check for around $10k (and this was over 15 years ago) for factory new engine/tranny as they voided his warranty. Interestingly he had removed the chip before towing it in, but the history stored in the car ratted him out.
  17. If the car won't function safely, ask for a loaner until fixed.
  18. Yea, I posted in your other thread. 4D Tech | Ford Upgrades, Replacements & Accessories Worked perfect for me.
  19. I bought this one 4D Tech | Ford Upgrades, Replacements & Accessories Goes behind rear right storage area. Bit tight to work with, but 15 minutes later done and works perfect. Maybe you can return the one you are having trouble with.
  20. I'll check, but pretty sure it is. Just got an update preparing for the Alexa upgrade. Is this what you are referring to?
  21. Noticed I'm still on am older APIM Firmware. No issues, and looks like over the air updates don't address this (since I get them all). Question is, do I assume this is like computers and newer drivers for hardware (where some recommend if it isn't broken, don't update)? Should I go to Ford dealer and update or leave it alone since everything seems to work?
  22. Thanks. I disconnect battery overnight and working again. Strange.
  23. 2021 ST. Use Google maps sometimes, but recently started using built in navigation. Voice guidance is on, toggled it between tone and voice. Reset APIM, still starts giving starting navigation drive safe message, then no more guidance commands. Anyone else? Car did just download an update telling me getting ready for Alexa update, but not sure if that's what killed it. Called Ford, they said can't help, take it for service. Stupid.
  24. Have you looked for any bad codes? If none, just a guess, and pretty obvious, sounds electrical, since after a detailing, which could just be coincidental. If car has now completely dried out, and I mean everything outside, under hood, under car... And still not running, my first guess is not a short since water no longer acting like a conductor, but could still be. So I'd start simple with battery and terminals wire check, ground wire , then make sure all pins in the pcm connector are good, and making good connection. If still not good, and no crank, maybe look for a short in a harness or connector. Good luck, hopefully someone else will help out if they have a better solution. Electrical is a real pita in modern cars. May be best to get a diagnostic from a dealer if simple things don't find it.
