  1. Where did you hear that Android Auto would replace the announced QNX?
  2. If you look at FSA 15B21, if the carpets are found to be wet, Ford service must replace them. 15B21 is the US version of the FSA. On Monday, my dealer said Ford Canada had not yet issued details as to the repair steps, although Canadian dealers have been informed of the issue. Just called Ford Canada on this issue today: they claim letters are out to concerned 2015 Edge owners and that repair instructions were sent to dealer service departments; issue date was not known.
  3. Ah! Just woke up to the fact that the range is not "June 25, 2015 through April 28, 2015" (descending dates) as I thought, but rather "June 25, 2014 through April 28, 2015" (ascending dates). Still dry though so far.
  4. Although my VIN showed FSA 15B21, I just realized my build date is April 22nd, outside of the range "June 25, 2014 through April 28, 2015". So I thought I would go back to ETIS to double check, now I see "MAX NUMBER OF LOGON SESSIONS REACHED, ACCESS TO GOASIS DENIED" under "Outstanding Field Service Actions". Anyone know what's up? Another question is, if the affected range is "June 25, 2014 through April 28, 2015", how were the vehicles assembled differently prior to April 28th so that they fall outside the FSA?
  5. 1- According to FSA 15B21, both front sides need correction. 2- The leak issue is not restricted to the Sport; I have a Titanium and the FSA shows up against my VIN
  6. Although I understand your concern, my point of view is that these technologies are currently a complement to the driver's responsibility to control his vehicle. The 'nudge' provided by the LKA is relatively mild and can easily be overridden by the driver. It seems to me that many think of these technologies as a way to feel less responsible for their driving. Those technologies may one day be able to 'take over' responsibility for getting us from A to B, but right now they're 'alpha' versions. Let's take the opportunity to get familiar with these technologies and adjust as they mature.
  7. Hey Tricia, You've been a great help since joining this forum, as I'm sure everyone would acknowledge. I recently saw Outstanding Field Service Action "15B21 - A-PILLAR WATER LEAK INSPECTION AND REPAIR" against my VIN. Although my Edge has spent some nights in the rain, it seems pretty dry still. What would be great is if you could post more information on this issue. As you've noticed, the topic is getting more and more anxious posts, some reporting subsequent electronic failures. Personally, I would like to know what is involved with the "A-pillar water leak inspection and repair": 1- what parts need to be removed for servicing this FSA (I dread rattles afterward) 2- where precisely would the moisture appear 3- what exactly is the 'repair' (just plugging the leak or also verifying potentially impacted electronic/electric parts as well as completely drying the wet area?).
  8. Washed the Edge today and realized there are no more windshield washer nipples on the hood (vs the 2011). I always felt they were in the way when washing, drying or waxing.
  9. Bump... Any Titanium owners with the factory hitch to confirm or contradict this behavior (left vs right) ?
  10. I only have 600km on mine, but haven't noticed any particular cabin noise. I did notice some interior noise when I picked it up from the dealer, as if the frame had to "settle in", but that disappeared the day after. Can you share details about the noise?
  11. Who decides what the allocations will be? At what level?
  12. For me, it took 16 days from the time it left the assembly line to get to the dealer. You have to allow time for: - once off the assembly line, it takes some time to gather vehicles in the lot by destination onto a train - then there's the train travel - once at destination, the vehicles may sit in the train yard for some time before the local trucker offloads your car
  13. If anything, we know what to expect from the 2015 Sync 2. I like the new screen from Sync 3 and I expect a much faster processor. But to me, it's the user interface that's important and I haven't seen enough of Sync 3 to get that "it's ok" feeling.
  14. For me it feels like the lower back is also cooled.
  15. Did some more experimenting with the hands free tailgate. I also had access to another Titanium with the factory hitch. Here are my conclusions after testing the 2 vehicles. Doing the kicking thing on the left side of the hitch works 100% of the time. Trying this on the right side of the hitch works 1 out of 5 attempts, even 1 out of 10. I sure would appreciate other Titanium owners with the factory hitch to confirm or contradict this behavior (left vs right) on their vehicle. It's great that the left side works, but I may still have a defect or weakness on the right side.
  16. I talked to the electronics technician at my dealership today. He gave me the wiring schematics for the hands free system (attached). He also mentioned that the sensor itself is located a few inches right of center. I suspect though that there could be a different set of schematics when a hitch is factory installed (he had no practical experience with a 2015 Edge, although he had with the 2014's). He was a bit skeptic about the hands free with a hitch. He thinks there is so much metal on that hitch that it would cause serious interference. I think Ford wouldn't produce a hand free tailgate with a factory installed hitch if it didn't work. All this to say that it's still hit & miss for me with the kicking thing.. I'll have the technician investigate. 2015 Edge - Hands free tailgate schematic.pdf

    Oil Change?

For normal driving, the manual suggest waiting for the 'Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor' to warn you, but expect the message to pop up between 7500-10000 miles. Recommended motor oil (U.S.): WSS-M2C946-A Motorcraft SAE 5W-30 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil XO-5W30-QSP
  18. Extremely interesting , thanks. I'm getting obsessed with this. So I (think I) understand the sensors 'sensing' a conductive body coming into the sensors' field. But I can't grasp how the kick in and out is detected. Help me, help me escape...
  19. Intriguing, using what technology (IR, sonar...) ?
  20. That's actually p. 66 of the owner manual. As for the sensors you heard about, I wish I could just see them...
  21. "Sync" is a wide topic. But in general, since 3.6.2, you'll find users (that have no HW issues) are mostly satisfied with it. One difference I've noted in the 2015 (vs 2011) is ambient sound seems to be more of an issue when making calls. I would never get any negative comments in my 2011 while I got the "can't hear you clearly" on my first call in the 2015. I suspect it has to do with the top air circulation vents being vertical now plus the fact that the microphone is positioned differently (I believe) in the overhead console. But subsequent calls didn't trigger any complaints, although I've made only a few so far, so I need to experiment more. Best way to do this is to leave yourself messages under various conditions while driving.
  22. Thanks guys. I have tried every approach possible and it's still hit & miss (1 hit over 4-5 attempts). I don't think it's supposed to be this hard to get the hang of it. Does anybody have the schematics on this sensor, especially where it's hiding?
  23. Thanks. I understand some people won't be crazy of the Cognac interior but we just love it. Before getting it, I thought the mix of interior colors (ceramic, black, Cognac) would be overload, but the Cognac blends easily with the ceramic and black.
