  1. Seems like you have a repeatable scenario. I would go back to service and have them check this out. I have only very sporadically had a false on mine, so it's not the design I would think.
  2. Also, a quick search will bring up all the posts on topics that concern you. It's a bummer for new forum members given the relatively poor functionality of the forum search engine, but, yes, most of your queries have been discussed. Another way to narrow searches is searching via Google instead.
  3. Build (completed) date: April 22nd; no leak, heavy rains, car wash. I did go in for the recall in June, just in case
  4. Couldn't find; any idea where in the manual?
  5. Strange... Got my set, front & back, a week ago and I was really impressed how tight a fit they were. I was also surprised how light weight they were and they're stiffer than the usual mushy rubber jobs. I remember one poster saying the snaps on the driver side "defeated the purpose", meaning I guess that water would leak through. I'm not sure what he meant or saw, the the snaps on the WheatherTech's are sealed from the top surface, s no sweat. I've finally gotten over the high price of the mats and now truly appreciate the quality of these things, so far. Let's see what the status is after a full Quebec snow & calcium season.
  6. In my experience, rattles start happening after the whole vehicle has settled in. That moment is also influenced depending on how hard you ride. OR... You could talk to your dealer to find out if your vehicle had to be torn apart after it got soaked sitting on the lot. I hope not.
  7. Interesting. Anybody know what the Canadian/US regulations are regarding headlights? In another thread, someone stated that US regulations were antiquated and would not allow LED headlights.
  8. This has been posted some time ago: they both show 10/12/15. Anything special in this one?

    2015 Edge MPG

Highway figures have enormous variability, so do city ones. Beyond Octane, car mileage and speed, here are a few other parameters: - how many times have you accelerated to pass another car? - how aggressive are you at doing so? - was the road fairly flat or hilly? - how bad was the head wind? - how many slow up's then resume's because of Sunday drivers or traffic swarms? - what was the total weight during the trip (driver only, family, luggage...) ? - gas tank full most of the time? - tire pressure? - tire thread (winter, summer, 4 season, high speed) - what was the average outside temperature during the trip? - cruise or not? - AC on or not - side and/or panoramic roof open? What I tend to check is instant consumption on a flat straight road at my regular cruising speed (120km/h or 75m/h); even then I take it with a grain of salt. The reason for that is that my biggest surprise was looking at my outrageous consumption over time that included a 40 minute stand still during a Sync update.
  10. You would think someone at DOT would figure it's not the number of front lamps that matters, but more the summed intensity being pitched at an incoming car. I know, we're talking government.
  11. I ordered a set of WheatherTech (black, front & back) as well, supposedly arriving tomorrow. As we all know, you can surely buy some MUCH cheaper winter mats at Wal-Mart or wherever but then, after only one winter, you get that white rectangle showing around your summer mats. I really dug around to find cheaper custom fit liners but found nothing as good as WheatherTech. But I would love to see the margin on those though... ouch!
  12. Last paragraph of article: Ford says these new features should be available in the "near term," but it'll be a long time before you'll see any of these improvements in the US. Archaic regulations still ban any sort of adaptive headlight system like this, whether it comes from Audi, BMW, or Ford. Is this true in the US? If so, I suspect the rest of the Americas won't get this either. I'm surprised NA auto manufacturers aren't breathing down the law makers necks; in any case, I wish they would. After all, this technology could be seen as enhancing security and accident prevention.
  13. Anyone know why it's not available on AWD?
  14. Wonder how many would blindly pick that "Caribou" color...
  15. I completed the 3.8 update ok. Only anomaly is ambient lighting disappeared, but didn't have time to investigate at 1:00 AM. Will check again tonight. EDIT Ambient lighting definitively didn't come back on right after installing 3.8, although I had access to the setting and the slider was at 100%. But last night, ambient lighting was back.
  16. Isn't that a 2011 TSB? I would have expected this to be fixed in a 2015, but apparently not.
  17. I don't understand why you guys are knocking off rain sensing wipers. I use them all the time when I'm driving in the rain for a significant amount of time (> 10 min.), BUT I shut them off the rest of the time. It's not a perfect system though: they will occasionally start flipping on a sunny day when I enter the garage ??? when there is already rain on the windshield and I start the car, it won't activate until more rain falls, so I need to manually flip
  18. Just bought my 2015 Edge Titanium a few months back, so not too concerned about the upcoming 2016 Lincoln. But I'm curious. So, does the fact that the 2016 Lincolns coming with Sync-2 mean that they come with the old hardware? If they come with the new hardware, but Sync-2, I would think that a firmware update down the road would fix everything. Anyone know?
  19. Bronze Fire looks really classy. My previous 2011 Edge was Bordeaux reserve, so Bronze Fire could have been a valid follow up, but I needed a change so went for Magnetic, just a matter of personal preference. One thing to consider in choosing a color in my opinion is resale potential in 3-4 years. Wonder how the Sport Electric Spice boys will do.
  20. Just finished as well watching the hour long video. Although the guy is a fast talker, the video could have been cut down to 30 minutes, minus the "that's a really nice feature" style comments. My hopefully shorter comments: I wish for a version of this video focusing on differences between Sync 3 and MyFord Touch: majority of features also available on MyFord Touch Would be nice to know the level of integration of Google Now, compared to Siri There was a mention of navigation on hard drive: I hope he really meant flash memory (dream: 3D Xpoint) Yes, that 5 year Sirius traffic sure is nice: BUT all Canadians are wondering if it's applicable to us Incredible Sync 3 reaction speed! The guy explaining how he couldn't demo a function because of poor cell signal (or was it wifi?) under an awning? Really? The guy repeatedly says "... without looking/touching the screen", but often Sync 3 would display a choice and the guy needed to speak the number of the choice, so he at least looked at the screen, right? If it hadn't been for my lease coming to term in May and Ford Canada unwilling to extend it until the autumn, I would have waited for the 2016 to get Sync 3. Watching this video made me drool all right, but all considered I'm glad I got the 2015. The new features of Sync 3 are impressive, but would not impact my practical (to me) day to day usage of car automation ... except for the SPEED.
  21. Interesting... I'm pretty sure the MPG delta is not from highway driving, because there's no apparent RPM difference between 'D' and 'S'. So it has to be city driving. In my case, I don't believe I'm more aggressive on the pedal in 'S'. I'll see when I next fill up, although I'm still in breaking mode at ~1000km.
