  1. The brake package also includes the wheels/tires of course. But you could opt for the $995 wheel upgrade and forget about the brake upgrades and save a few bucks. Either way the thing I did not like is the fact that you need to get the 401A package, another $5500 just to get the option to upgrade the wheels to 21 inches or the brake package. Of course anyone can go buy 21's after the sale but I wanted the 21's but not the other crap that comes in 401A. It would have been nice if they allowed that. As for power it would be nice if they even just had an FRPP tune for those that would get one. I mean why not, maybe they will since it seems to take forever for them to release one. And I know an aftermarket tune is much better but some people like warranty still and all that. I would love to see other tuners as well put something out but this is the thread for LMS.
  2. Maybe a hundred feet if that. I am driving it much nicer, pedal to the metal wise, than I did my tuned Focus ST and that still managed to only drop 1-2mpg from rated city. Highway will probably be fine but I do not drive a lot of actual highway. I drive about 1/2 mile from the house to a 2 lane 55mph road and go for about 5-6 miles on that and then enter a 45 then turn onto a 55 then turn again onto a 55 until I get to the 1/2 mile 30 to work. Total trip around 10-12 miles. I do this 4 times a day, twice to and from since I go home to let the dogs out. Other than that it is around the city/town. I do have to take a trip for a doctors appointment on Friday which is a 70 mile trip, 140 round. So we shall see what that works out to. Just strange since I had a 1999 Grand Cherokee V8 that seemed to get better mileage and that was in 2012.
  3. Steam is just what TGDI engines do on cold days. My Focus ST did the same thing when starting out in the cold. Starting mom's MKC and dad's Escape in the garage does the same thing. The Edge is the same and the higher idle and sounding like a diesel at start and warmup is just the nature of the beast. The clunk is probably just everything engaging, the transmission and the PTU and cold fluid. I do not notice it but I am not paying attention to it either.
  4. Well been using Fuelly. Got a whopping 15.2 a tank ago and filled with 93 and just got 14 for that fill up. I have not been letting it warmup more than like 2-3 minutes in the morning. Yeah I have been driving it with a lot of pedal sometimes but normal, for me, the rest. Still seems ungodly low even if I am driving it a little quickly at times. My Focus ST got 22.5 driving it the same miles and same way. That lowered to 22.5 once I tuned it, before that on the stock tune I was getting 23.5, so close to the factory city rating. I mean I do not expect a solid 19 out of this but 17-18 would be nice. Especially for 93 octane gas at almost $3 a gallon. It is not like I felt more power or anything special. I am at almost 2000 miles and it is going down not up.
  5. Yeah I wonder if the test mules were broken in yet. There is a noticeable difference in boost after you hit 1000-1200 miles on the clock. Heck even after 500-600 boost holds higher than before that mileage. Mine consistently holds 16psi now that is has 2000 miles on it. I have not seen it hit and hold more than that yet. Bounces off the 19-20 mark then drops to 16. Maybe it will need more boost when warmer out to make power. I have seen that the charge air temp on a pull goes up about 25-30 degrees so the IC sucks for keeping temps down. It does drop back down after you let off and are at speed with flow.
  6. It is interesting that the ST has more power and a higher final drive ration and that extra gear at 2nd yet is slower in 0-60 times than the Sport it replaced. Shifting must be slower or adding that gear in between slowed it down by needing an extra shift point. Now I will need to pay attention and see if it needs to shift to 3rd to hit 60 and that cause the slightly slower times.
  7. I would assume at its power level it is somewhere near the 16 they all get with an overboost up to 19.5-21. Since it gets basically the same power as the single scroll in the Focus ST and from what they have seen on that motor the tuning is near identical if not identical between all the 2.0 EcoBoost motors. As for tuning, I wonder if any of the tunes from Cobb, Unleashed, Stratified and others could be adapted if someone had the knowledge and time. I assume it is easier to tune the ST/RS models due to the lack of automatic trans needing to be controlled. It would be interesting considering the Focus ST can get +~90ft/lbs gain in torque just with a mild safe tune and about 25Hp more on 93 octane. Not to mention hit almost 24 psi of boost. I got 23.8 max out of a Stratisfied 93 tune with no revisions and 22.8 on 91.
  8. On my old Focus it was obvious, they moved from left to right and back to center, the full sweep they could do. If parked against a wall at night it was obvious, if dark and you just start the car and the lights are in Auto mode and turn on. Also when driving at night on an empty dark road and going over 3 MPH and steering the wheel left to right back and forth you can see the lights swivel. Once again that was on my Focus ST with the adaptive lights. The lights beam also seem more narrow than the standard lights, at least comparing the Focus adaptive ones to the Edge standard light pattern.
  9. Oh I see. I wonder how many people that are not on forums even know if they are working or not? But still seems odd that they could get them working on the other cars and not this model and not figure out why. I did not get the package to be honest since I am only leasing it and really did not want any of the stuff in it except for maybe the headlights and the ability to get the 21's as an option. I had the lights on the Focus and they were nice but not really anything needed in an SUV, Lol. I actually like the better spread of the full lights instead of the more narrow beam from the adaptive lights. I do miss the turning lamps on the focus though.
  10. I am honestly curious as to A. how did they release the vehicles for production and sale without alerting anyone that the feature did not work at all. And B. how can they get it to work on the Focus ST and RS vehicles with Bi-Xenons but not a vehicle that is 6 model years newer than the first Focus ST with them but not on the Edge in which the only difference, besides cost, is that they are LED lenses? I mean you got it to work in a $29K car but not in an almost $50K car, since that option is only in the 401A package. I mean come on it seems like the same exact system since they are using moving lenses.
  11. Until I saw this thread I thought the only thing that screen told me was that I turned it off or that the engine was running ok, until bobyellow mentioned it I never paid attention. As for warmup, as long as it blows heat quickly for me then I am ok. My Focus ST seemed to take forever to warmup and blow heat compared to my fathers Escape 2.0. Heck I would get to work, 10 minute drive, and it would just start kicking out heat on a super cold day. It took even longer once I took out the AGS for a Depo Intercooler to fit. Compared to the Focus this baby heats up fast. Lol
  12. My passenger one turns on if the passenger is getting in the vehicle when I press the start button on the dash, after a remote start or if they are in the seat, I assume because the door is open or opened that it thinks someone is there.
  13. Yeah I just assume it turns the DRL off so people notice the signal being activated. You know for the stupid people to be able to realize you really are signalling.
  14. 9 miles sounds fine for full warmup. I had a Focus ST that took over 30 minutes of driving until the engine oil temp was all the way to the full warmup phase. Sure it was warm enough to drive hard but after a while rising it slowed down and of course it does not help that it is cooled by the car moving. Same with engine coolant, it start warming when the engine starts of course and keeps warming and then the thermostat opens and it starts cooling by the radiator and air flow. So once the thermostat opens it is then being cooled by airflow and thus takes longer to get to the full temp. But no worries as the engine is running optimally once that T-Stat opens. Since that is the temp it should stick around. And in cold weather it will take a little longer to get there but it is fine. As for the Auto Start/Stop there are many things that decide if it shuts the engine off. Tempo is one, brake peddle position as well(if I let pressure off the pedal the engine restarts, if I do not push down enough on the pedal after stopped to hold the car in place then it does not stop either. Personally it irritates me so if I do not turn it off then I just don't hold the brake pedal down enough to enable it or let off to restart the engine. But the engine needs to be up to temp and the interior close to the set temp and the brakes down enough and the outside temp to be above some preset temp. Mine works though below 30 degrees and I have seen it at 20 degrees working as well, did today.
  15. This seems to keep more in reserve than most other cars I have driven. Since it is saying it is close to empty via how many miles are left but the gauge seems to still read gas in it. On past cars, even Ford's the gauge would be at E when it said 10 miles left.
  16. It is 18.5 actually. But mine is the same way, although I never got to 3 miles on it but have filled when it said I had 30 left. I still have not put more than 16 gallons in it. I have 1600 on mine and my mileage says 16.2, lol. But I drive it like I am running from a cop.
  17. It is because you were connected to wifi and it started checking for a Sync Update. Since there are not a lot of Sync updates then there really is no need for it to check every time you start the car. SO just turn it off. It will try to connect via FordPass as well but if you have no setup your wifi hotspot then it will fail there as well. Just turn off the auto update in the Syn settings and it will not pop up again.
  18. I saw that, I was not really expecting the 70+ ft/lbs the 2.0 gets. Lol!
  19. Thanks. And I figured you of course still set torque targets just like stock but higher.
  20. Thank you. I only have 1500 miles on it now and I planned on trying 93 once the weather was nicer. I also have an app on my phone to plug the fillups in, just need to remember to enter them. Lol!
  21. Turn off auto updating. Mine did the same thing because I would start the car and it would be connected to my wifi then drive off before it could check., Very annoying to say the least. My Focus did it as well and turning off the updating was the only thing I ever found that was less annoying.
  22. I know right. Even Cobb tells what their OTS tunes run boost wise. I mean if they are getting the gains shown I can surmise that boost is either increased or holding on longer and not dropping off to hit the Torque targets Ford has set in the stock maps. You can see by the gauge, if it is accurate, that boost hits then drops as the wastegate opens to control it and keep the power in the range Ford wants it in. I also assume that they do not get full boost on the stock tune in probably the first 2 gears, if it is anything like the Focus and Fiesta ST's and the RS. No since in spinning the tires for no reason. I am curious if the tune allows increased boost in those gears and if I could say I wanted it when getting the tune. I had a tune on the Focus that could limit boost in 2nd so you did not roast the tires all the time, I did not chose it on my tunes. I am curious, I know this is probably not the place to spill it all but they could put that info on their site. If I am going to spend the money I would like to know what I am getting . ?
  23. Do you have a ESC button on your dash to turn on and off traction control? If so try holding the button for over 5 seconds and see if that turns off the AdvanceTrac. It does on the 2019, I got the idea from my 2016 Focus ST I had where you could put it in Track Mode by holding the button. On the Edge ST it turns off the AdvanceTrac totally disabling both traction control and the ESC so you can slide around. The 2019 has a Sport mode but that for some reason leaves the traction control on but allows a little more side to side movement. Unlike on the Focus where it allows wheel spin and lessens the nannies to allow a little sliding around if you cornered hard. Anyway it is worth a try to see if it turns off AdvanceTrac.
  24. I had a Focus ST with both a 91 and 93 tune on it and MPG increase was not anywhere in the cards with that. The fact that I floored it more did not help at all. I am, running 87 in the Edge right now since it is winter in Northern NY so there is not a lot of need for whatever the difference is in power running 93 right now. But I was wondering more about your tune and asked in the thread about it what kind of boost you are pushing. Coming from a Focus I was hitting consistantly 23 to 23.8 psi on 93 and on the 91 tune I was hitting 22-22.8, both peak in 4th gear at around 100 MPH. Normally would hit 21-22 regularly on either tune. Stock would hit peak around 19 on the gauge, did not have the Access Port to see the exact values. I find the gauge bounces a lit compared to the stock Focus boost. That may be just the nature of the beast with an Auto Trans instead of a manual though. I just would like that set you back a little and pull feeling that I am sure it would do if the wastegate's did not vary boost all over the place.
