  1. Thanks for the App tip. I normally do not really care, just was hoping the tank would last a full week instead of like 5-6 days. The tiny one in the Focus at least lasted a week. ? Oh and I love the ST so far. I will see what the app says. My problem will be remembering to use it. Lol. I normally keep my phone in my pocket when in the car so I will have to try and remember to put the numbers in. I am sure it will get better once broken in and has a few thousand miles on it. I do not remember how long the Focus took. I just remember the numbers dropping once I got the tune on it. But I was pushing it hard and having fun at that time. It was a fun little car, had the 91 and 93 Stratified tune, FMIC, RMM, Adjustable BPV, and symposer delete. Was ok in the snow with snows on it but boring for basically 4-5 months of the year with no traction.
  2. Yeah I know I reset the main gauge then there are also the two Trip ones. They all read different now. I am lazy so before I start running numbers I figured I would ask and see what others may be seeing. I am going to see what Apps are out there for the phone, instead of just noting all my mileages in a note or something. Thanks.

    Edge ST MPG

What are you guys/gals getting for MPG? Mine is pretty much 16.4 on the computer and I reset it when I got it, has 830 miles on it and got it with 200. 16.8 from new according to the Trip 1 gauge. I do remote start it almost daily and let it run a few minutes because I live in the frozen tundra of Upstate NY, Watertown. But still I expected a tad better. I am not hammering on it but running it nice then a few times with some gusto during breakin. I even had the cruise set at 75 on the highways and on a flat was the only time the instant hit over 20 and that was not much over 20, maybe 22-23ish. Most of the time it was at 20 or under on a relatively mild road, mostly flat with slight up and downs. Engine was fully warmed up. I know winter gas drops it a hair but my 1998 Jeep GV V-8 seemed to get better mileage and I beat on that. Is it just because low miles, I do mostly mixed driving some 65 and some 40 and normally only 10 minutes at a time since that is what it takes to get to work. I just expected closer to the city rating of 19. My Focus ST that I had two pedal modes, floored and idle, got 23 MPG and that was driven the same and I drove it like I was running from the cops. Thanks. If it has been covered I am sorry, I only checked for posts in here.
  4. I just got mine as well. I used to have a Focus ST, traded it for the Edge, but I never went to the ST Octane Academy. But the people on the ST forums of course tell you it is awesome. On the Focus one you got to drive the Focus ST with the FRPP tune on it and some other tweaks and got to drive it as hard as you wanted. So I am wondering how this will be, it sounds like you get to drive one through the mountains then to the Nordic Center where I assume you get shown what it can do and get to see what you can do with it. I am actually going to sign up for this one.
  5. Is the build date on the Window Sticker? Mine has a date of 11 5 18 on the bottom of the sticker at the end of the line of numbers under the Total MSRP and the Ford Credit box.
  6. I did not even check those. Lol! I did notice one other thing. The Traction Control Sport mode is not as nice as the Focus ST sport mode. It still is a nanny on the traction control and does not allow anywhere near what the Focus allows for tire spin/slip. I found it better just to turn it right off. On the Focus you needed to leave it on in Sport to allow for the pseudo limited slip to work via the braking. It would be nicer to have it allow a little more slip fun before being a total shut the throttle plate. Maybe if they did an ignition based traction control it would be better.
  7. Maybe there is different software in my newer build.
  8. I just got mine and it has the Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2's on it. They are UHP All season and here in Upstate NY, almost Canada, we get 130+ inches of a snow a year and so far they are fine. Probably not in 2 years since they probably only get about 20K miles out of them but who knows. Those were the stock 20 inch wheel/tire combo I got.
  9. Actually it is in the Edge ST Supplement just as it is in the Focus ST supplement. I thought it was odd as well that it came stock with 19.5-21psi overboost. But it is indeed in both manual, I came from a Focus ST. He is also spot on so far with boost getting higher with more miles. Mine has almost 700 miles and went from peaking at 16ish then dropping like a rock to under 12.5 to now hitting around 14-15 and holding when at high speed. Actually holds much better than the Focus in higher RPM's. The Focus dropped down to around 13 at redline where the Edge seems to hold almost all the way to redline. I only tried this a few times and I am running 87 octane gas now since it is breaking in still, but I like to make sure the engine sees the revs it will see a lot of during breakin. In Sport Mode with the traction control in sport as well it really does shine. As for the tests from magazines, I wonder if they had been broken in yet so they could see full boost. Because from what I can see it does limit boost based on conditions, like 1st gear and maybe even 2nd do not get full boost just like on the other ST platforms which are limited in those gears.
  10. Mine have worked perfectly so far.
  11. The engine sound is really noticeable in Sport mode and when really getting on it and up in revs. It can also be heard, quieter though, in normal mode but may be confused as true exhaust sound which you can not really hear. It would be nice to turn it off completely, I did on my Focus ST but that was a tube that piped it in from the intake manifold so it could be removed. I assume you can turn it off in ForScan if you try.
  12. Well at least this is fixed in the 2019 since they all come with Bi-LED headlights. I love the ones on my 2019. Only thing so far that bothered me is that all the exterior lighting is LED except the license plate lamps on the ST. Strange that they are standard bulbs when everything is LED. Heck my Focus ST had LED license plate bulbs on it and no other exterior lights were LED.
  13. Once she is fully broken in I will hit redline almost daily. I like to drive hard especially after coming from a slightly tuned Focus ST. Probably why I get crap gas mileage. ?
  14. Yeah it would be nice for the rear since the front is an option on the 2019. Strange that they did not put one in the refresh, especially since they put the rear washer model on it. Oh well. I still look anyway and only use the camera as a reference.
  15. This is the option on the ST, it also should be available on the Titanium and maybe the SEL. Front 180-Degree Camera with Split View and Washer. I know there is a front grill camera on the 401A package but not on the 400A which I have, I do have a camera mounted in front of the rear view mirror but that is for the auto high beam, lane assist, and braking assist I think. Googling the camera gets you to this page https://newatlas.com/ford-split-view-camera-see-around-corners/38182/ Now you have me wondering if the rear view does the tri pane view.
  16. It has 360 degrees worth of cameras if you get that option. It is not standard. The camera is not on the front unless you get the package. It is in the 401A package on the ST.
  17. I have read on here that there may be a boost limit during breakin. The ST Supplement in the owner manual states that boost should be 19.5-21psi with overboost, depending on conditions. Conditions on the Focus ST were weather and fuel. My Edge ST seemed to hit 15-16 on the gauge then instantly drop to 10 for the first 500 miles, now at 600 miles it seems to drop to around 13ish, just above the 12.5 mark on the gauge. If you are in Sport mode it is harder to tell if you manually shift it because it pops from boost to Tach as soon as you hit a paddle. I am not really hammering on because it is still under 1000 miles but Normally full boost should hit when getting on it but not WOT, I noticed that on the Focus since the snails are small and if you are at WOT in lower gears it just revs to quickly to get full boost. If you are in a higher gear in the Focus it would hit full boost and hold it, of course you had to be going over 100MPH to really see it. Lol. Anyway the new Explorer ST is supposed to get the TT 3.0 engine and around 400 ft/lbs or more so it should be interesting.
  18. No I actually grew up here. Moved away for a bit and came back.
  19. Those were the first things I removed. Lol!
  20. Thanks. That is interesting. I will see what happens. It is very nice so far, I am coming from a Focus ST so letting it shift for me is nice when just tooling around. It is not slow by any means so if it gets a little quicker after breakin that would be a bonus. Not like I am really hammering on it now but I did slip a few times and get moving to test her out. ?
  21. That is weird. Mine shifts great in normal mode and sport mode. Shifts smooth as glass in Normal D mode. Much better than my dad's Escape 2.0 and my mom's MKC 2.3 6 speed ever could. Even when driving it spiritedly, which I find myself doing quite a bit coming from a Focus ST I like to get up and go. Maybe there is a program update for the transmission. I get no jumps in RPM when it shifts.
  22. To get to the heated steering wheel button quickly and easily just hit the Home Button on your Sync 3 display. The steering wheel button is right there under you phone info. At least on mine it is.
  23. Coming from a Focus ST I can tell you that yes the EB engines run just fine on 87 octane that they also retard timing more on 87 octane fuel. When running 93, which is where Ford's HP ratings come from, it does get more HP.. According to the Supplement that comes with the car it has 252HP on 93 and 243HP on 87, with the same torque figures because it advances timing and Ford has torque targets programmed in to the ECU which supposedly are managed by boost control. You could also see this when running tunes where the boost was limited to regulate torque targets, or so they say. The Edge ST Supplement also states that the engine power of 335Hp and 380ft/lbs is achieved on 93 octane fuel. I have not found yet what the engine is rated at on 87. Either way it is winter so I am running 87 for now and it is not a hot rod so I will probably only run 93 to see if there is a boost difference or feel. That manual also says the 2.7 has a boost limit of 19psi with 21psi overboost. I find that highly unlikely and have only seen it hit 15-16 on the gauge before the waste gates open and drop it to 10-12psi. Now that could be because it is cold outside and it is hitting it torque target or because of the 87 octane gas. The book also suggests only one twin scroll turbo. Anyway the ECU will adjust timing for 87, 91 and 93 octane gas and Premium is not required.
