  1. Don't get me wrong the trans is better after the TSB, but it is still far from as good as the 6 speed it replaced as far as shifting and consistency. It may have improved fuel economy but I don't see it, I drive it like I am running from the cops so that is my own issue. I may be judging it harshly though coming from a manual. I just feel it should shift better if it was meant to be a 'Sporty' vehicle.
  2. Mine held gear going up a hill and I kept slowly pushing the gas down hoping it would smoothly downshift but it did not. Instead it kept building boost and slowing down and then bam downshift and full boost and shot everyone back in their seat a little. Not the smoothest move ever and my 70 year old parents were not amused.
  3. So now that this is fixed, which lens moves, the headlight or is it the inner one? I have never seen what the 401A package headlights look like actually turned on but I assume the inner lens is the one that move or light up when turning the wheel since the 400A package has that as a turn signal. Just curious since I came from the FoST with the adaptive lights but they were bi-xenon and turned the main reflector and the Nautilus seems to use the Euro model of multi LED reflectors/lens to do the trick.
  4. With the updated trans TSB and fully broken in all I can get with my OBDII and a using the Car Scanner app on my phone the best I can get is 5.8. It is the slow shifts and the lack of full boost, seems limited in 1st and 2nd like the FoST and FiST are, that keeps it slow. Tried both just flooring it and a mix of holding the gas and brakes. It just does build boost at all in first gear, I am sure even a mild tune would correct that. It also has that extra gear and slow nonchalant shifts. After it gets going though it is nice and quick.
  5. They do get better once you fill them up with 93 octane and get some KM's under her belt. They still have more room to go as well. You will see the boost gauge bounce off the 19-20 for a split second before it drops to where the ECM wants it quite frequently. So I assume with an even mild tune it could hit 20 all day long and be fine. The ST supplement says max boost stock is 19-21 under the right atmospheric conditions, the FoST supplement said this as well. I can tell you I have had boost hold steady at what should be 18psi when at WOT and the outside temps are above say 65 degrees F. These engines are Torque target controlled so once they hit the target the ECM pulls boost to all that is needed so when temps are hotter more boost is needed. And in mid winter I would only hit 15-16 in the same areas I drive. Anyway enjoy the new ride.
  6. They also most likely come with only 87 octane gas in them. And there is a noticeable difference with both boost and the butt dyno once you put 93 in. But the fun part is they get quicker and more fun the more miles you put on them. I would not call it slow though, it feels quicker and is quicker than my FoST was tuned and hitting 23psi.
  7. Mine had over 100 on it. But it was a dealer trade to get to me so they had to drive it to my dealer. But 70km is nothing I would worry about. I would be more worried about buying a car from a manufacturer where it could possibly be damaged in anyway from driving it 70km. Needless to say these units do not even start to get close to full boost until they have certain amount of miles/kms on them. In miles it was not until after 500 miles than mine saw over 10psi when at WOT. After that it would get to around 12-14 psi and then after 1000 over 15psi to what it is at now which under the proper conditions will hit 18-19psi. So under 500 miles it barely would hit half of the boost it was designed and tuned to hit. So I doubt anyone could cause any lasting damage to it in the first 50 miles. I wouldn't worry about it.
  8. I understand that and it is why I asked questions in your Tuning thread but you never answered them. I lease mine so I want a nice safe tune with some more performance that what stock gives. But I would like to know more about your approach to tuning. I know how Unleashed works from people who have used them for the Focus. I probably could search this forum for answers about how you tuned the Sport but like you said this is a different beast ECM wise.
  9. Do you have the Livernois on that? I am still unsure why they can't seem to get an ST tuned up as nice as the Sport. Are they scared the new trans can't handle it or something. I mean I hit 17-18 stock on the ST and would think it should be more than capable of hitting at least 22 with no issues. Heck I am shocked that FRPP has not decided to come out with a tune for it, I mean they have been trying to blow up FoST engines at almost 25 psi for years.
  10. In warm weather I can hold at the 17.5 mark and peak up to almost 20 that is why I was wondering. Of course only when the temps are in the mid 60's or higher and when the IC is most likely heat soaked. Almost like it has to hit that high to make the torque targets. So if you can hit in the 18's consistently that is great. I was not expecting numbers like the FoST tuned, lol. On mine the highest I hit was 23.8 on 93 and going over 100 to get it to hit that regularly. Keep us updated as this is exciting having a second choice for a tuner.
  11. How is it dialing in so far? Like how many tune updates did you need to get where you are? I used Stratified before on my FoST so all I got was the canned tune with my options and never actually got them to do anymore with it since I traded it for the Edge about 3 months later. Also are you still using the stock IC? and what kind of boost are you getting? Just curious since I am only used to the 2.0 EB motor and what it can handle and do and of course that one needed an IC and colder plugs to get good numbers, which I had.
  12. Keep us posted. I would like to know how it goes and possible gains.
  13. I have an ST and this happens with it as well when cold, first drive in the morning, at certain times. Not all the time it seems like it is some sort of double shift sometimes and others an all out hesitation like it is confused as to what gear you want. I have had the TSB for the ST done and it still happens, even more now than I noticed before. I wonder if it happens on the Nautilus as well to be honest, I assume they use the same programming but probably not since my moms MKC has like 3 trans modes to select from in the settings(Comfort, Normal and Sport). It seems they may have not tested this trans software as much as they should have. And while they are two different trans I believe the real difference is in the torque limits they can handle and probably not much more than stronger bits for the V-6 one.
  14. When the trans is cold I do get some questionable shifting on occasion, like double tapping into a gear or going into 2nd and then 3rd almost instantly. But only when I seem to be getting on it so to speak, maybe 3/4 throttle pulling onto the highway/road as I do every morning and not taking it easy because of traffic. Even after the TSB this trans does not shift like it should, or maybe it does, but it is not anywhere near the outgoing 6 speed in that department and really only is sporty in the S mode. If only they made it so the throttle and shifting would be the same in comfort mode as it is in sport mode without the gear hanging/high revs that Sport mode does once you are at speed and let off then this would be a nice Auto Trans for a 'Sport' vehicle and certainly closer to the ST nameplate. It is funny that they base these things off the idea of the FoST or FiST but with an Auto yet did not put a proper trans in it, they put a DSG trans in the new FoST in Europe as an option for crying out loud. Or at least get the programming right for it to be close to one. In Sport mode it feels so much more connected, with the better throttle response and the what seems like harder shifts, but that rev hang and the need to either manually put in it 8th gear at highway speed or shift back to comfort makes it a pain for me. I like the Boost Gauge up since there is no need for me to look at a tach in a vehicle with an auto trans. And every click of the S button makes the tach come up then I have to switch back. Don't get me started on the amount of button pushes needed to make these fun to drive or driveable in my mind. I start it =then turn off the engine start/stop then turn off traction control, because the Sport mode there sucks, then I need to put it in S mode and click the gauge back to where I want it. That is stupid. It is an ST or even if it was called Sport still, make the start/stop off by default, the trans in a sporty mode by default and the ESC switch a one button press for a Sport mode that has almost no traction control and allows the ability to slide a little more. Or make it a one button push of the Advance Track button to Sport mode that does all these things. Heck even in its current state you have to push the trans S button and the Advance Trak button twice to get to their Sport settings. Then when at speed put the trans back into C mode to get all the gears. It is dumb when in other ST's in other areas of the world you get mode settings that are for 'Sport" driving.
  15. My 2016 Focus ST had this feature and so does my mom's MKC and my dad's Escape. It is a handy feature.
  16. Mine is going strong still. I got mine done the first week in April. I do see some strange shifting here and there like a double shift here and there. It still is lazy to shift in Normal mode but does great in Sport Mode.
  17. Check plugs and regap or change if needed. I know the Focus ST 2.0 would eat plugs for breakfast. Well at least the Gap would open up on them regularly.
  18. I only have the heated seats but both driver and passenger heat both the back and bottom. I tested my mom's 2017 Lincoln MKC which has cooled seats and hers cools both the bottom and back of the seat on both driver and passenger. On a side not I find it hilarious that Ford did not know that the Edge had ventilated/cooled front seats as an option.
  19. So I am seriously considering this tune. I have questions though. I came from a FoST so they always suggest things like monitoring ignition corrections and OAR until you feel good that your tune is well tuned in properly. Using your tuning device to see these things. With your tune is it dialed in to be a little less on the 'edge' so this does not need to be monitored? How about motor failures, is your tune safe? I mean no tune is 'safe' and all engines can fail but what are the 'odds'. With the FoST there are more tuners and of course the forums have a lot of info on them so it is nice to compare notes but with the Edge's it seems there are obviously less choices and I really have not seen any 'blown motor' threads here. Theses are news Trans and different motor starting points and the ST tune seems to be less power for now so it seems you started fresh with less gains for now. I mean I would like more power and better throttle response and shifts so it to me is worth looking into and getting. I mean heck I bought an FMIC, RMM tune for my FoST and had it a whopping 4-5 months before trading for the Edge ST so spending a few bucks for more smiles is not a big deal for me. But it is a lease so I do not really want to pop the engine for a few smiles with my miles.
  20. I know. I was hoping FRPP would come up with something like they do with the EcoStang and the FoST. I asked Stratified and they were a big NO on tuning the Edge. I believe Unleashed has something and we know Livernois does. Maybe since they call it an ST now we will get something but I don't think the sales numbers are there to justify it compared to the other lines. One could hope. I mean I got a sweet Depo 3.5 FMIC for the FoST for $350 and it was great for keeping the charge air cool. It baffles me that they could not even put a better FMIC on the ST line or even the Sport. IO mean the unit on the F150 looks like it is a nice sized unit compared to ours. I see our temps rise at least 70 degrees on a good run through 2-3 gears at full throttle. The upgraded Depo unit kept charge air temps within 5-7 degrees of change. Even with 23psi of boost. Anyway. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Even though it is a lease I am considering the LMS tune. Seems safe enough numbers wise to not pop the engine.
  21. He could go the Mountune router or the FRPP tune if he wants warranty. FRPP is not really expensive but Mountune is pricey but they both have a 3/36 warranty on them.
  22. For a Focus ST he could go with someone like Stratified and get an OTS+ tunes and Cobb AP3 for $500. Gains of round ~25hp and ~80ft/lbs of torque depending on what fuel you select. Heck even to get a more specific tune you send logs and it is like $50 more bucks to tweak it.

    SYNC 3 issues

I honestly have never gotten an update to work over WiFi. I tried mom's MKC and it failed, my previous FoSt and it failed and my dad's Escape. All Sync 3 and none have ever updated over WiFi. I did 2 updates on the FoST manually and even they took some work witrh several downloads and USB drives until they worked. The Edge I have not even attempted to check for updates since it has the latest already.
  24. I have and they basically said they have not heard anything and that mine is the only one they have sold so far. Which I knew already since neither dealer seems to have sold one yet, other than mine which they dealer traded for. I constantly make 15-17psi just fine, I have hit 19 here and there when the weather was warmer and the conditions right. In all honestly this thing would be even more of a beast if they did not limit boost in 1st and 2nd which they seem to do. But power delivery seems spot on and I even clocked it doing 0-60 in 5.81 seconds according to the Car Scanner App on my iPhone. I mean the lets floor it all dayness has worn off and I am driving it more like a normal person who likes to get up to speed as fast as possible so I do expect lower numbers. But boost seems fine to me. Having never driven a Sport or any other 2.7 TT it seems great, even quicker than the FoST was tuned. Not as fun of course letting it shift on its own and all. I am going to try the closer dealer though to see what they say. I only took it to the place I bought it from since my dad works there, I got D plan pricing on it. I am normally happy with my vehicle purchases and this one has my frustrated since it is not quite what I expected. I really love to drive and even though it is not the money that bothers me it is the fact that the tank just does not last what I thought it would or even as long as the FoST tank did, and that was only 11 gallons. I just finally started driving it and trying to not let it bother me so I could finally enjoy the car, which I do love every other aspect of it. Anyway if I get to the other dealer soon and they say something I will post. I am not sure my dealer even checked in the Ford system to see if there was any information about them. They just shrugged and said it is a V-6 thing.
  25. And I took your suggestion. The app calculated the change for me, or should I say displayed the numbers. They were 2mpg over the cars computer measurement, so they went up 3.4mpg from the other setting. And for what it is worth that is part of the point of the thread, one why is the computer off in the + side and is anyone else getting crap mileage. Last fill up was today and the app said I got 14.9. The reason I mentioned the information in the post you quoted was because this is still an unaccepible level, I believe it should be a few mpg's higher at least. Yeah I know I floor it a bit but the majority is cruising speed so it should outweigh the negative impact of getting to speed quickly. It seems to me that by other posts people are getting considerably better mileage than I am. My dealer seems to not care and my next step would be to actually have to call Ford to complain since I can't seem to find an actual online form to just fill out. So my only option is to go online and post in a forum to see what other get so here we are. I merely update my mileage and may comment that I can not believe it is so crappy, because I keep hoping it will improve for some strange reason. The vehicle now has 4500 miles on it so I keep hoping it will improve. So today I got gas from a totally different station, Sunoco this time. I will see if by chance it is the darn gas. If it still is bad I will switch back to 87 octane since I seemed to get better numbers with that for whatever reason. Today my trans was shifting crappy again, after the TSB was performed, like it was shifting two gears at once(trying to skip one but still hitting it). It did it three times under about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. Another reason I ask about the mileage, maybe there is something wrong with this one like something dragging or hung up. You have to admit that the mileage is low compared to others in this thread.
