  1. I was thinking of your Sirius install. oops.
  2. I never considered that issue. My old vehicle had the shifter on the tree. I do not carry drinks very often but I will definitely be careful when I do. That little indicator really held on for awhile! Your theory makes a lot of sense.
  3. I do not know much about it. I researched the same thing last year while shopping for my Edge and I remember a thread on this forum about it. I do know it is not cheap and lots of wires. If it were me, I would buy a cordless bluetooth speakerphone unit that hangs on the visor. You recharge it like a cell phone and you do not have to tear apart your truck to put it in. One push answers the phone. There are tons of brands, you can get a really good one for around $100.00. Consumer reports and reviews on retail sites would be a great way to find the best one. Amazon.com would be a good source. http://www.amazon.com/Jabra-Cruiser-Bluetooth-Car-Speakerphone/dp/B002PY7P2U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1271272441&sr=1-3 Here is an example of a speakerphone. I love Jabra products. I recently got a Jabra Stone ear bluetooth, great sound.
  4. I did not realize that any of the newer Edge's would be built without it. I am surprised. Sync cannot be put in but Ford makes an aftermarket bluetooth system.
  5. I am surprised no one has responded to your post. The question would be whether or not you know that it is something spilled in there, or are we to assume it is something that was spilled before you bought it? There is a thread on here on how to remove the plate around the gear shift to see down there. Maybe a little WD40 would loosen it up?
  6. There are some threads on here about getting leather and denim dyes out of the light colored seats, not sure if anyone found something that works.
  7. Didn't you just put a lot of work into an after market system? That looked really nice.
  8. http://editorial.autos.msn.com/listarticle.aspx?cp-documentid=1127613&topart=passenger Interesting article on MSN.
  9. Usually taller people complain about the headrests. I am 5'6" and the headrest pushed all the way down is perfect for me, my head rests on the flat part just fine. She may have the seat back too upright, you should not sit straight up but at a slight incline. Sitting straight up will definitely cause neck pain. Also, the steering wheel moves in and out and if the seat is at a slight incline she could probobly move the seat forward a bit more to reach the pedals.
  10. Not that dealers are often to blame, but if a car has that many problems the owner should go to the manufacturer before defaming the retailer.
  11. Mine has been good so far, replaced once with the 'new' seal. These are the parts on my receipt and below it is the explanation from k_m on what it means. L65 C FRT AXLE SEAL LEAKING Installed 8T4Z 7275 DC KIT-SEAL DIAG REPLACED INTSHAFT SEAL LEAKING Basically they replaced the seals where the half shaft [axle enters the transmission. the DC Kit-seal is a component of the PTU. So all in all your PTU and its seals were changed.
  12. Seems like stuff like that is always a sensor or something similar and should be picked up by diagnostics one would think. You might try a different dealer? Maybe try to make it happen on a Saturday or whatever day you have off and drop it off and tell them to have at it. I have an 08 also and it seems like this model year has a lot of squirrely things going on.
  13. A safe way to transport dogs is in a hard sided crate. Would protect them and avoid escape in the event of an accident. The dog can run out into traffic or if the dog is loose in the car and becomes a problem for rescue workers they can shoot it, or euthanize an injured animal if you are injured or unconscious and cannot speak for them.
  14. What is it doing in a snowbank and/or mud?
  15. Thought this article was fitting to this thread. GM working on teeny weeny cars. http://editorial.autos.msn.com/landingpagesafety.aspx?cp-documentid=1135907&landing=safety&topart=safety%20&icid=autos_1373&GT1=22017
  16. Not many matches for dump trucks or semis, agreed. Just seems that ever since the cash for clunkers there are a lot of very tiny cars out there. I see quite a few of the smartcars too.
  17. How small are these cars? The original Fiesta was tiny. I find it frustrating that cars are getting so small that they are unsafe against larger vehicles not to mention huge vehicles. Last weekend I was at a light behind an Aveo and thought to myself what would happen to those people if a vehicle like mine hit it? Early Monday morning in my town there was a fatality in an Aveo vs a Blazer accident. Guy in the Blazer is fine. Just doesn't seem worth it.
  18. Has anyone seen this? What a heart stopping video. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/35998317#35998317?from=en-us_msnhp&GT1=43001
  19. Either way would be weird. Like you picked up a new hood at the junkyard and have yet to paint it. Two tone paint is so 80's. And to paint over a beautiful factory finish should be a crime. The Edge is beautiful out of the box.
  20. LOL! OMG this was in a thread last year and it was so funny. I don't think anyone would think it looks like a sunroof with the raised surface on the roof?
  21. I think everyone here has the problem with the phone volume. I find it annoying also. Luckily the volume goes back to what it was for the radio when the call ends. The iPod streaming can be turned off. When it starts to stream, open your iPhone and change the output to speaker.
  22. My understanding is that it is totally different.
