  1. Yes, that is the frequency your car uses for the TPMS sensors. I have a 2013 Edge and mine use the same 315 MHZ. I think that started being used with the 2011 models. I had not seen any with the 433 MHZ unless they just added that to the 2014 models, or are going to add it to the 2015 model. You will be fine buying the 315 MHZ since that is what is listed for your VIN by the ETIS site.
  2. One of the best ways to compare differences between models is to do a Google search. Just search for 2011 Ford Edge Brochure and you will find it online. You can then compare standard and optional equipment between the different models. You just put in what ever year you are interested in looking at. I just used 2011 as an example. There is also a site that you can put the VIN number in to see just about everything there is to know about that particular car. http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do;jsessionid=C797D6CAE4731D79F15DFB2E45F23DBB.eccvas506 You may also be able to see and print a facsimile of the original window sticker by putting the VIN into this site http://researchmaniacs.com/VIN-Number-Lookup/WindowSticker/Ford.html
  3. This is why the United States will never adopt the metric system. Heck, even a car built in Canada is confused by Celsius degrees!
  4. I wonder if the wheels will have the same bolt pattern and offset as the 2011-2014 Edges. I like some of the new wheels for the 2015 and wouldn't mind putting a set of them on my 2013.
  5. I don't see a link in Omar's post, but think this is what he wanted to link to. http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do;jsessionid=4A9972EB338A00B7C68BD3F30392AF88.eccvas509
  6. I switched rims and transferred the factory TPMS into the new wheels. They did not have to be programmed by the dealer, they reset shortly after driving on the freeway. I don't know how aftermarket sensors would work, but should be the same. I looked up your part number, and those sensors are about $40.00 each? You can buy NEW Ford factory sets of 4 on eBay for under $80.00 which include shipping. There are even better deals at times but even these are half what you will pay with NAPA, and these are factory OEM parts. EDIT- Just saw you are in Canada, so don't know what shipping or other costs would be from the US sellers. You can check the Canadian eBay for the sensors. A quick check shows there are the same type deals in Canada, and even US sellers shipping to Canada. One example http://www.ebay.ca/itm/NEW-TPMS-Tire-Air-Pressure-Monitor-System-Sensor-9L3Z1A189A-DE8T-1A180-AA-/141434803524?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AFord|Model%3AEdge&hash=item20ee2bd544&vxp=mtr
  7. How many miles on the car, and when was the original in service date? The bumper to bumper is 36 months or 36000 miles, which ever comes first. Do you have an extended warranty on the car? Sounds like you don't have any idea about what warranty you purchased if she said you have the best they sell. Door latch would be covered under the original B2B or the extended warranty if it's the Ford ESP Premium care. No cost at all for diagnostic tests other than a deductible on your warranty if you have a deductible. Figure out what coverage you may have, then we can go from there, warranty or not.
  8. Here is a post about installing the headrest DVD into a 2007 Edge. Should be very similar to removing one from your 2011. I think the hardest part will be getting the headrests out of the seats, and even that isn't hard at all. This write up with pictures should help you a lot. You might even have aftermarket ones in your 2011 unless you know the complete history of the vehicle. If I 'm not mistaken, the DVD headrests were always installed by the dealer and not at the factory. Since the dealer really doesn't want to reduce the price if he takes them out, I would buy the vehicle with them. I would then remove them myself or go to Best Buy, Frys, or just about any car audio shop and have them remove them. I would be surpirsed if they charge over $100.00 to do so. I would them place a classified here and on Craigslist and sell them for $400.00 or more. Owner's are always wanting to add these and I think you would have no problem selling them. Just make sure everything works before you remove them. You could have the person who buys them exchange their headrest with you or you would have to pick up some from a salvage yard or other source. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/3162-diy-dvd-headrest-install-with-pics/ Link to the 2011 brochure showing the DVD as being by Invision on page 22. Do yours look like these? http://www.ford.com/services/assets/Brochure?make=Ford&model=Edge&year=2011&postalCode=55401
  9. Thanks for clarifying that. The Fleet only option must mean you can order the running lights, otherwise you don't get them? Not unusual for fleet vehicles to omit some items in order to keep costs down. Many GM buyers who purchased used rental cars found out they didn't come with OnStar or Bluetooth because those were two items the rental car companies could omit to keep their fleet prices down.
  10. Thank you for taking the time to follow up and happy to hear things are going well for you. Sounds like you also have a good dealership. Good luck in the future.
  11. When I clicked your link earlier today, it said I didn't have permission to access the info. Had to join the forum if I wanted to see it. Something must have changed because now I just went back and clicked your link and it opens the file this time.
  12. So it looks like Daytime Running Lights are only available on fleet orders. The SYNC Services subscription also has changed, going to only 1 year of free service, whereas it was 3 years of free service on my new 2013 Edge.
  13. Fingers crossed for them!
  14. If they are only giving owner's until January 5 of 2015 to submit for reimbursement, I think a lot of owner's are going to miss out. We read about maybe two dozen or so on this forum that have paid for repairs themselves. I bet there are many times more that don't know about this program or ever will. Yes, notice is being issued to registered owner's, but what about those who sold the car after doing the repairs themselves? How many owner's of a 6 or 7 year old Edge will take it to a dealer if they have a gas leak? Most will seek other repair facilities because of cost differences between a dealership and an independent garage or repair shop. I mentioned that I think it is great that Ford has issued this action. I don't think such a stringent deadline for claims to be made will benefit a large number of owner's who would be entitled to reimbursement only because they didn't find out until too late. I hope it works out for those owner's that have had the problem, but we will see.
  15. Will this be you personal vehicle once you are done with it, or are you going to resell it once it is done?
  16. The light may come on because of the wheel speed sensor which also may be making the noise, or the bearing. I'd get the front end checked out to rule out either item and check both sides.
  17. Someone posted a schematic showing the location of the part on your other post asking the same question. Check your post on the TEST forum where you also posted, that is where the answer is given.
  18. THE ENDING DATE FOR REIMBURSEMENT ELIGIBILITY FOR THE COST OF REMEDIES PAID FOR BY VEHICLE OWNERS PER FORD GENERAL REIMBURSEMENT PLAN IS JANUARY 5, 2015. So owner's who have had the tank fixed on their dime in the past can submit for reimbursement from Ford according to that notice. What exactly does the statement mean about a deadline of January 5, 2015? Does it mean owner's only have until then to submit for the cost if they paid for it? Or does it mean any owner repairs after January 5, 2015 will not be reimbursed? Hopefully it is not a deadline to file for reimbursement. Even then, how many owner's will even hear about this program unless they experience the problem before that date, and IF they take it to a Ford dealer? Glad to see something is being done to help those who have had this costly repair done in the past, but I hope a lot aren't shut out of the program because they never heard about it.
  19. Wow, I see you are still trying to sell your Edge. Your first post was five months ago. Just wondering if you also have it advertised anywhere else such as Craigslist, Cars.com, local papers, for sale sign in the window, etc? Have you tried taking it to CarMax to see what they would give on it? I sold them a 2012 Acura MDX back in January and was VERY pleasantly surprised with what they gave for it. They were literally $3000.00 more than any other dealer or car buying service, including several Acura dealers. It was within $500.00 of what I would have tried selling it for. Good luck, hope you find a buyer at a price you can live with.
  20. If purchased in Sept of 2011, it's out of the bumper to bumper 36 months and he didn't mention how many miles or kms. I don't believe the tank is covered by the power train warranty. Hopefully it is something to do with the filler tube or neck since it only leaks when full. Wonder if his dealer can get Ford to goodwill any repairs, depending on exactly what the problem is.
  21. What exactly is wrong with the engine? Head gasket? Internal failure? Kind of a coincidence that the oil had just been changed, wonder if oil had leaked out or wasn't full? You did have a warning of the overheating before the car died, just wonder how far the 1/2 mile you drove after the warning really was. Strange that an engine would fail that quickly unless the distance was longer. Really need more information before I can jump on your bandwagon of hating Ford.
  22. That (APIM) is covered under the Ford extended warranty coverage they sent to all owners. Ford extended the coverage to 5 years, regardless of mileage. It is Ford Customer Satisfaction Program 12M02 according to the notice I received in January of 2013.
  23. Take into consideration you may have to use hub centric rings depending on the hub opening of the new wheel versus the hub size on your vehicle. If you have a 2010 or older, I believe your opening is about 2.77 inches.
