  1. Remember, the Edge uses a computer to control the signal lights, not a relay. Be sure the LED being sold will work with the Edge.
  2. Still a work in progress. I did eliminate the fast blinking by eliminating on of the pair of red segment bulbs for now.
  3. With newly turned or new rotors one needs to transfer a bit of pad material onto the rotor surface. This is usually done by taking few mild and repeated stops and then driving to cool the rotors down without keeping the pads in contact with the rotor until they had a chance to cool down a bit. Try this procedure to see if you can even out the pad material on the rotors. If this does not work you might want to run some appropriate sanding material on the rotor surface and try again.
  4. The USA made Nitto NT850 CUV is specifically designed for a high center of gravity vehicle like the Edge and is superbly priced with free shipping (at tirebuyer.com). I have a set for over 5,000 miles and think they are great. Wait for father's day and they will even offer a discount.
  5. I like the news stations and would love the music stations if they reduced the dynamic compression and bass elimination, etc.
  6. Are there speed limits in Saudi Arabia or just no police?
  7. Why did they tell you that? OEM rotors are fine. I just put a set of zinc coated and slotted rotors (off of ebay) on my 07 and they look good and perform as I wanted. Cost less than OEM rotors.
  8. A good synthetic is great. But can only be economically justified if you go with extended drain schedules or encounter unusual cold running conditions. It is even nice to use if you have a turbo, etc. But most oil change places tend to overcharge for the pleasure of going synthetic. But $120.00; that has got to be a record.
  9. Fun, you want fun? I'm still making the good fight to find out why we are living in the last place on earth without the requirement that our rear signal lights be amber and not red. The latest study shows a significant reduction in rear accidents with such rear signal lamps. But the US and Canada do have a definition of white, and many of the after market HID kits and hid style filament bulbs fall outside of the regulatory definition of white. Too blue a light color has been associated with higher levels of glare complaints. This is the basis for my question. (Yes, I used to be a regulatory attorney for the government, don't tell anyone).
  10. Will these lights meet the DOT and EU regulatory definition of "white", when used in the DRL mode? Will a set be available to work in older Edge models?
  11. I purchased gray zinc coated and slotted rotors off of ebay about 3 months ago and have only good things to say about the purchase; and the price was right. Combined with AutoZone's top of the line pads and Ford's latest power booster for my 07 Edge, it has never stopped better.
  12. Only other significant issue in 07 was a poorly designed power brake booster. Ford redesigned the part several times and it is all good now, but never put into place a recall, or customer satisfaction program.
  13. I installed slotted rotors all around (off of ebay) and the work fine and look good. I have never read one objective posting anywhere, including studies from EPA, the show any performance or economy increase from a change in spark plugs. Dual Plat and Iridium will last longer in some applications. You many have experienced and improvement if your old plugs were under-performing.
  14. Best upgrade it to purchase and install the latest Ford supplied version of the power brake booster. It has gone through several revisions.
  15. Hydrogen is the ticket! Lightens the vehicle and you only have to top it off twice a day.
  16. Start with the recommended pressure. If driving with a full load while pulling a trailer, then add several lbs. If driving over 90 mph for an extended period add a few lbs. But the recommended pressure, around 35 lbs is recommended for normal use. Don't run lower pressure than 35 lbs.
  17. There is no relay. Ford, in its wisdom, decided to tie the flashers into a computer.
  18. I have called KYB and Bilstein several times. They have no current interest in providing mono-tube shocks for the Edge.
  19. Where would you run the wire from? To where would you connect it? What relay would you use? How would you wire it?
  20. But it is the reason why, when you upgrade to the new amber turn segment rear light unit, that the black box you add to seperate out the brake light from the turn light, does not work.
  21. I have learned that my 07 Edge does not use a conventional flasher relay but a logic control unit. Thus you cannnot simply substitute in a different relay if you change out the rear lights housing or install LED bulbs.
