  1. I don't think sunroofs/moonroofs were standard on any trim.
  2. That is standard practice at most large dealers provided you are ordering something they would have stocked anyway.
  3. I've also said time and time again that Best Buy makes more on a high end $4K HDTV than the dealer makes on a $40K vehicle.
  4. Whoa there Sparky! Calm down. You misinterpreted my comment. I'm the first one to support dealers making money. I use X plan which gives them holdback plus a couple hundred bucks plus the spiff check from Ford. I don't try to haggle dealers below invoice. In fact I want them to make money so they stay in business. I was merely correcting you when you said they were only making $1400 on the holdback. You have to also include the doc fee in the calculation. The only thing I don't like about large doc fees is that they are somewhat dishonest because they aren't included in the advertised prices and are usually only added at the end to take advantage of unsuspecting buyers. Instead of advertising $300 below invoice I would prefer to see them advertise it as $400 above invoice (assuming a $700 doc fee) because that's reality. It's not the profit - it's the deception. And if you're throwing out numbers or comparing prices you need to take that into account. A dealer that advertises $300 under invoice but has a $700 doc fee is more expensive than another dealer who sells for $200 over invoice with no doc fee.
  5. It's really simple. Before the OK to Buy has been given, only dealer stock orders can be built. Retail orders do not get built until after OK to Buy has been given so they can ship directly from the assembly line without being held and inspected (which you have experienced). After that, all orders are built according to priority among the dealer's orders. If the dealer is allocated 3 units this week then the 3 orders from that dealer with the lowest priority are built and the rest wait for the next allocation. If your dealer has no allocation they don't get any vehicles that week. Retail orders (sold customer orders) are supposed to have a priority of 10-19 with dealer stock being 20-99. So the dealer can prioritize one vehicle over another within each group (e.g. if yours is a 12 and mine is a 13 yours will get built first). So yes - Ford does prioritize retail orders over stock but it's all within the dealer's allocation.
  6. It happens. When the Lincoln LS debuted in June 1999 it arrived with Cordovan Red. In October I tried to order one and they had replaced the Cordovan with Autumn Red. It was a similar color and the change was done to all Ford and Lincoln vehicles to coincide with new models for the 2001 model year. Plus the doc fee. That's pure profit and could be as high as $700. Still a pretty good no haggle price.
  7. First - make sure she remembers the code - you can set your own code to make it easier to remember. That's the biggest benefit of the keypad is to make sure you don't lock your keys in the vehicle. The most likely explanation is she accidentally hit the lock button either on the keyfob or the door. I don't think it lets you do that with the driver's door but since she was using the passenger door that wouldn't apply.
  8. My guess is it means nothing and it's just a scheduled media event.
  9. That would mean they've given the ok to buy unless that order was put in as a dealer stock order and not a retail order.
  10. First, moderators do not have to be impartial. We just make sure there are no personal attacks, spammers or off topic posts. Second - it's immature of you to ignore all of the scientific explanations about how your engine works including actual scientific tests in addition to the complete lack of similar test results by the filter manufacturers and retailers which they could have easily produced. Since your vehicle apparently operates in some parallel dimension where our laws of physics don't apply, I thought it would be helpful to point out other devices that would yield similar results. You can thank me later.
  11. My guess is it was originally planned but later deleted for whatever reason. Might come back later.
  12. The only good ones are the Ford ESPs. The rest are iffy at best. Just take whatever you would have spent on that warranty and put it aside. You'll come out better in the long run anyway.
  13. The Edge sport had the same engine as the MKX so they were most likely using the lack of HIDs to get people to upgrade to the MKX with adaptive HIDs.
  14. Website still says heated wheel is only optional on Titaniums and not available on SELs or Sports. I think the photo is wrong unfortunately.
  15. Read all of the previous posts and you'll understand why nobody (not even Ford) can give you a specific ETA. Could start shipping tomorrow or a month from now. You don't want one that's built before the ok to buy is given.
  16. The 2012 should have IOLM. The 2008 does not - it's just a mileage counter. Sorry for any confusion.
  17. They should have both paint and seat samples on a board at some point, but if they don't have 2015 brochures then maybe they don't have those yet either.
  18. The dealer should have some actual samples to look at. It's not Ford being wishy-washy - it's the pictures/videos and your monitor - it's difficult to get an accurate color representation online.
  19. There is a separate Set button - press that, release, then press 1 or 2 to set that position.
  20. How are you setting the memory positions? Get the seats and mirrors where you want them, then hold the memory position button down until it beeps. The vehicle has to be in park in order for the buttons to actually engage the memorized seating position.
  21. The factory 20s ride almost as good as the 18s because they're tuned that way from the factory. If the springs are the same and the replacement wheels are about the same weight as the factory 20s I'd expect them to ride just as well.
  22. 1. No. That only works on skin. 2. Take a long trip or two......
  23. There is a TSB for the gear shift selector switch causing a battery drain. Have the dealership check that after you jump it.
  24. I can only suggest a few other items that should net you even better mpg. They've all been proven not to work but maybe they'll work for you since your car is different. water4gas.com tornadoair.com http://www.kjmagnetics.com/fuelmagnet.asp
