  1. There is no separate fuse just for the door sensors. Have you tried spraying it heavily with WD-40?

Have you tried charging or jumping it? How do you know the new battery is good? Check the battery cables (both ends).
  3. If you don't see anything blocking the sensors then you could try disconnecting the negative battery cable for a few minutes. Otherwise you'll have to take it to the dealer. They can't diagnose it over the phone. And please don't post multiple times for the same problem.
  4. They're usually shipped not installed and sometimes the dealership loses them (or steals them for another vehicle). If your dealer doesn't agree then check others on the lot. Also check in the glovebox or inside the console.
  5. I thought the single bulb/shield setup was only used on HIDs?
  6. I have never had a battery (factory or aftermarket) last more than 3 years or so.
  7. Is it the same bulb? If so then make sure you have the right bulb with 2 filaments (I'd verify the part number and replace it just to be safe). Otherwise check both wires for power at the socket.
  8. There is no direct connection to the fans. The PCM talks to the controller that's built into the fan module and the module turns on the fans as needed.
  9. Cruise control is fine on flat roads. But in hilly terrain the cruise tries to maintain speed uphill wasting fuel. Without cruise you can let the speed drop a little saving fuel.
  10. You will never get the same mileage out of a brick like the Edge vs. a sleek sedan. It's just aerodynamics. Cancel is handy and it still exists on other vehicles. Ford has not done a good job of standardizing those things across vehicle lines. They are moving that way though. I haven't seen adjustable pedals on any new vehicles so I guess they've given up on that. With adjustable steering columns it's not as important for short drivers. On the oil changes - just figure out how many miles she drives per month and then change the oil every 6 months (or 4 months or 8 months or 12 months - whatever matches the recommendation). 6 months is easy to remember.
  11. You have to understand that the Five Hundred and Edge are 2 different platforms so they will have different features. I don't believe the 07-10 Edges had an oil life monitor, but if it did it would have just been a mileage counter. Just go by the odometer and change it when the OM says to change it. You can cancel the cruise control by tapping the brakes. Or hit off, then on again. Don't go by what anyone tells you - read the owner's manual. You can get an online version at www.motorcraftservice.com.
  12. The tranny and the rest of the drivetrain and front clip can't handle that much torque. Get a CAI and a tuner and call it a day.
  13. I would go back and make sure you're getting power to the socket - if not it's a fuse or wiring or module issue. If you are getting power then it's a bulb/socket/connector.
  14. I've done computer troubleshooting for 30 years. NEVER assume, always ask.
  15. You said you switched the light sockets and connectors, but you didn't say anything about replacing the bulb.
  16. Yes, it's just caliper covers. The big giveaway was the big letters on the top of the website and the name of the website - calipercovers.com . :) Looks only. Don't bother.
  17. That was a bug that might still exist in older vehicles where the A/C could not be turned off that way. It should work but didn't. Do a search - there was at least one or two threads on it a couple of years ago.
  18. The reason is they haven't developed a way to allow dealers to sell it and add it to a vehicle without leaving it wide open for dealers and others to rip it off for free. If it was just an option in the dealer laptop to turn it on then you can see how that might be abused by unscrupulous dealers or techs. Also - at a cost of $700 I'm not sure a lot of folks would pay that aftermarket compared to using their phone or tom tom etc. So the business opportunity isn't big enough to make it worth developing a solution.
  19. But that is the way you take it out of Auto mode - you manually select something. I think that's how it's designed to work.
  20. That is NOT the factory nav. It's an add-on that splices into the display. None of the built-in commands or displays or integration will work with it. You'd be better off just buying a Tom Tom.
  21. But whether or not the A/C compressor is on or off has nothing to do with the temperature not working correctly. Put it in full auto mode and set it on the normal desired temperature. If it's 16 outside and you have it set on 24 inside and it's not giving you hot air (AFTER THE ENGINE WARMS UP for a few minutes) then you have a blend door or controller or temp sensor problem.
  22. The A/C compressor has nothing to do with temperature - it should be warm air either way. Could be the blend door stuck or the controller or the temp sensor. Keep on the dealer to fix it or find another dealer.
