  1. Do not use AAMCO. Let the dealer do it with their machine that uses the cooler lines. It gets way more of the old fluid out (at least 95%).
  2. You do not want to do a "flush" where they use chemicals or forced fluid. What you do want is for the dealer to use the cooler lines to recover the old fluid and introduce new fluid. This uses the normal circulation of the fluid with no added pressure or chemicals so it's safe and it changes 95%+ of the old fluid without dropping the pan.
  3. Yes. Ebony black was substituted for a short time.
  4. You don't need to touch the pan or the filter. Ford has a machine that will use the cooler lines to change all of the fluid. It replaces the old dirty fluid with new fresh fluid as the vehicle runs. Because it uses the tranny pump it gets 95% of the fluid out including the torque converter.
  5. What Waldo said, plus - you really shouldn't be using MTE to determine your fuel economy. Use the computer MPG or calculate it manually when you fill up. Too many variables in MTE.
  6. I wouldn't anticipate any issues from Ford if you have 3 body shops saying it's an adhesion issue. The only time I've seen where this becomes an issue is if the dealer tells Ford they think it's not a warrantied problem - regardless of what they tell you or what they say they've told Ford. The dealer's input to Ford is critical but given the body shop diagnosis I don't think you'll have a problem.
  7. Other than the complicated wiring, the bad part is you have to put a key blade into the ignition key slot and turn it to ACC and leave it there.
  8. I think it starts out around 1/2" so if it's down to 1/16" or less I'd go ahead and replace them to be safe.
  9. Run your fingernail across it - if it catches then it's a deep scratch that might need to be fixed. Otherwise it's normal cosmetic stuff. Pull the wheel and check the thickness of the pads inside the calipers.
  10. Un-pair the BB. Turn off bluetooth. Reboot the phone. Re-pair the phone with Sync and try it again.
  11. Wasn't this obvious? Just like the first iDrive customers.
  12. If you get any pushback on warranty I'd take it to a body shop for their opinion on the cause.
  13. Sync without MFT is very solid. It was the MFT issues last year and the Focus transmission problems that brought them down. Both problems have been mostly resolved so next year's ratings should improve a lot.
  14. Because it's a different market. Canada usually gets cloth seats as an option on higher end models also. Ford offers the options that most buyers want in each market. Or what they think they can sell the best.
  15. That depends entirely on your average mpg. Each person's will be different.
  16. It makes sense that a mic problem would affect both. Maybe this points back to an apim problem again.
  17. Change the speakers then see how they sound. If you're happy then stop there. If you still want better sound then start looking at an amp. There are numerous options and it really comes down to how you want it to sound and how much you want to spend.
  18. If you have Nav it only sends the destination then your Nav determines the route. If you don't have Nav it sends turn by turn directions through Sync Services.
  19. I would start with something like these and I'd get them from crutchfield not ebay. You can get a 2nd pair for half price. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1086829CF/Infinity-Kappa-682-9cf.html?tp=93 Crutchfield will give you installation instructions and adapters that make the install a breeze. They're all the same front and rear. Start with these, then add an amp if needed later.
  20. You absolutely need collision - that's what pays to fix your car if you have an accident. Without it, if you total your $35K Edge then you just lost $35K. There are 3 parts to auto insurance: Collision - pays for damage to your vehicle if it's your fault Comprehensive - pays for damage not caused by driving (stolen, hit by a tree, etc.) Liability - pays for damage caused by you to other vehicles, people or property For liability consider what would happen if you crashed into an expensive building or a Ferrari dealer's car lot. You want the most coverage you can stand financially. You always want collision unless you'd be paying more in premiums than the car is actually worth (won't be a problem on your new Edge for a long time). And you need comprehensive. The only big variable is the deductible - get the highest one you can afford or the highest one allowed (if you financed it then the leinholder may have a limit). Mine is $1K. The higher the deductible the lower your premium. And if you have it financed you are required to have full coverage anyway.
  21. If you want a specific route use waypoints.
