  1. Ask the dealer to get you a paintable grill for it, maybe they'll change it out for you? That price for an SEL doesn't seem all too much discounted for 25K miles. Show the dealer some comparable trucks from ebay, autotrader, cars, gargurus, and see where you stand. the more informed you show up the more the dealer is forced to work with you or tell you straight out that he cant. And, you'll get the best value for you dollar. look heres a Sport for $28K http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?sourceContext=carGurusHomePage_false_0&newSearchFromOverviewPage=true&cgLocale=en&embedType=NONE&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=c22190&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity2=c22190&uncached=false&showInactive=false&newCarsOnly=false&useInventoryService=true&name=entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity&includeAllModelsOption=false&carsWithRegressionOnly=false&ign-makerId-entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=m2&heading=All+Years&ign-modelId-entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=d923&includeUnknownTrimOption=false&carsWithRegressionOnly=false&ign-carId-entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=c22190&ign-car2Id-entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=c22190&zip=07676&distance=NATIONWIDE&filtersModified=true&modelChanged=false&searchChanged=true&sortType=DEAL_RANK&sortDirection=ASC#listing=43741011
  2. You just stated the compelling reason to go to an Explorer. We had an Edge...but with two kids, and a double stroller how do you go grocery shopping? Or the better question, after you go grocery shopping where do you put the groceries? a double stroller takes up the rear of the Edge. Want to bring inlaws with you somewhere? want to bring anyone with you somewhere? They certainly cant squeeze between two of today's toddler car seats in the second row.... So, you left considering options that have third rows. What good is a Toyota Highlander if there's no room behind the third row when the seats are up? You already own an Edge and you like it and the way its set up? Then the next logical step is to look at the Explorer and its room with the third row up and down. And that's what compels you to buy an Explorer.
  3. Im a noob when it comes to detailing, but id say do it right. I stripped my Edge, polished and then waxed. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11359-getting-the-sport-ready-for-winter/
  4. Id have to search, but theres some guy selling some on ebay who offered me a $99/pair price if 10 people bought in. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DRL-LED-Light-Daylight-Running-Integrate-Turn-Signal-For-Ford-Edge-2010-2013-/111029237982?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2011%7CMake%3AFord%7CModel%3AEdge&hash=item19d9dbb8de&vxp=mtr
  5. Welcome to the club, while the DI Blue is not as fast as the Platinum White Edges, it is my second favorite. Dont forget to check in to the Tri-state area thread.
  6. I would simply call them and ask which one fits your specific vehicle, easier than having to return one.
  7. Hey Richy, We've been driving a 2012 Lincoln MKT for 3 months while the Wife's Explorer has been in back and forth for a stubborn roof leak. She complained about the collision warning and the dealer told her it cannot be turned off. Im sure he doesn't know (very probable he's only the service guy). I've only driven it once and I can imagine what a pain in the ass it would be to have on a daily basis. I guess this is stating what you already know: Activating/deactivating collision warning system To turn the warning system and/or chime on or off and set the warning sensitivity <– –>, refer to Message center in the Instrument Cluster chapter. Note: If the system cannot be turned off in a MyKey equipped vehicle, refer to MyKey in the Locks and Security chapter for more information. Note: If collision warnings are perceived as being too frequent or disturbing then the warning sensitivity can be reduced, though the manufacturer recommends using the highest sensitivity setting where possible. Setting lower sensitivity would lead to fewer and later system warnings. Refer to the Message center in the Instrument Cluster chapter for instructions on reducing the sensitivity.
  8. Bob, I was hoping to hear about your Englishtown experience with your intake, exhaust, throttle body and computer tunes. Keep us posted, you know you can't resist running it.
  9. The dealer will not apply the coupon retroactively, but if you walk in with it on the day you're signing they will. Overall it seems like a fair deal.
  10. Might be fun, especially down the shore when the weather warms up.
  11. Theres a guy not far from me that has one, looks great and hes always driving around. We must go to the same places because I see him quite regularly now that I recognize his bumper sticker
  12. I have the weather tech rain guards. I got the lighter tinted ones since my windows are already tinted. If you want mor pictures let me know.
  13. ^ Never saw those before, they're sharp. GLWS, Im sure they'll go quick. Any shots on your Edge?
  14. Boy JETZ, We're all glad that you added something worthwhile to this thread too. How about starting your own thread instead of hijacking Nates?
  15. Spring break thread started by a user named Wannabang? Who's passing this one by???? I liked the old guy in his trike scooter at the gas station. That's classic. If I knew civics came as 4x4's then maybe I wouldn't own an Edge..... Great shots thanks for sharing Yay! 1000 POSTS!
  16. My dealer paid the last 4 months of my 2008 lease to get me into my 2011 Sport, which added an additional $1720 in savings. I think most of the dealers have the latitude to do pretty much whatever they want to move a new vehicle. Tell them you'll check other dealers, let your money talk. Cars are not flying off showroom floors as my sales guy said to me a few weeks ago.
  17. Yea I remember, I used to live in Pasadena. But it's reassuring to know that most of us on the east coast never change out wheels/ tires and do great. I mentioned earlier this winter that while in Upstate NY at my farm we got snowed in to the tune of 12"+ of new snow. Our driveway to the main road is super steep, and I wasn't real sure we were going to get out... Nice steady slow speed and the Edge climbed the hill without a hesitation. Our AWD system is derived from the Volvo AWD and it really seems like a high quality unit. It's never let me down at least. As far as chains go, I always liked these: http://www.etrailer.com/Tire-Chains/Thule/TH02230K23.html?feed=npn&gclid=CPXViOWuhrYCFQSg4AodlwMAwA
  18. The first thing to check with HID lighting problems is always grounding. Do you have your wires grounded, is it a quality ground, is it tight? Glad you will sleep soundly now.
  19. My 22's with the stock pirellis have done fine for me I got my Sport in 11/10! Quite impressed with them really.
  20. We are in the midst of a lemon lawsuit with our 11' Explorer. It has a roof leak that gets worse every time Ford attempts to repair it. Its been in over 9 times and has spent over 100days at the dealer. Anyway, since the 13's are having the same problem, I was interested in looking at the Santa Fe's with third row seating as an alternative. They certainly look great and ive driven in older models and was quite impressed. I plan on taking one out for an extended drive when they hit the dealers around here to really shake one out and compare them. Keep us updated on your thoughts.
  21. You chose the fastest color available, I'm sure you'll love it. Congrats and welcome.
  22. New wheels, huge difference, great look.
