  1. Just make sure you don't melt the fog housings with HIDs... Are they glass?
  2. I was hoping he was going for this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCI6he-kBN8
  3. Maybe they are installing a train horn? Needs to be driven with compressed air.
  4. Ford service can activate the drl function using their IDS (Integrated Diagnostic System) software.. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12612-just-got-my-drl-activated-at-the-dealership/?do=findComment&comment=97537
  5. You can go to your dealership and have the orange corner lights activated as DRLs (only 2013 edges can have the vertical pipes activated as DRLs) in their IDS software. If you want lower/vertical DRL lights that come on from the time you turn the key, here's the best option: http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/Daytime_running_lights.html. These will give you exactly what you are looking for (and then some).
  6. I had to thin/shave my tabs a little on my TRS in order to full twist them into the socket. Once I did that my bulbs were fully seated and all light patters were correct and even.
  7. Looking forward to it! You modding the verticals or the headlight housings? Or something entirely different?
  8. I know... Just saying, if you decided too. It won't happen considering your setup. But one can hope. Besides, I'd need another 40 relays or so to rock your full car lighting.
  9. Sorry all... I knew we use 921's but for some reason I had 3157 on the brain (those are the front turns). I corrected my links and found the bulbs I have installed from VLED. Damn, I screwed the pooch on that one.
  10. If only I could replicate your lighting. My wiring skills are only as good as the poster who includes photos! Having said that, it does seem as though there are some decent led options that are quite bright: Here's what I'm using: http://www.vleds.com/bulb/921-led/5k-white-19-led-8w-high-power-bulbs-917-918-920-921-922-923-579-1-pair.html And another option: http://store.ijdmtoy.com/25W-CREE-High-Power-921-912-Reverse-LED-bulbs-p/led-sku319.htm But, if the dxhid kit installs easily (http://www.dxhid.com/15wreverselighthid.htm) and is only a 2 second warmup, that may be the way to go... Ultimately, if I was smart, I'd just drive over to your place my next trip to Suwannee (I stay near the mall in Buford). Which I take a few times per year.
  11. That does seem bright... But wouldn't the hid install be easier? I don't see how you would completely hid the wires on the LPF kit... Having said that, I assume the dxhid kit is plug and play?
  12. No one yet (Dan excluded). He doesn't start shipping for another week or so.
  13. I guess VLED doesn't offer the reverse led's I am using any longer. They have switched over to SMDs... http://www.vleds.com/5k-white-15-led-back-up-reverse-light-bulbs-3157-1-pair.html I wish I still had a link to my VLED reverse bulbs, never so much as a hiccup and work great.
  14. OP could just be really excited about the possibility of activation and wanted to share the wealth http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/53886-daytime-running-lights-activated/ http://www.fordfusionforum.com/topic/10054-daytime-running-lights-activated/ Agreed that 3 forums & 3 handles are a bit much, but I too have different names on different forums (well, only 2 different names spread over many forums). I'd give the benefit of the doubt...
  15. Dan (kc300c on here) is the owner and has confirmed that his first 100 orders will start shipping next week, while the second 100 sets will start shipping the week of June 17th (of which he has availability). You won't have to wait long (and will be worth it). His lights work with or without the stock harness. For the 2011 & 2012 SE Edge's, I believe the consensus is that the OEM harness is NOT there. For 2013, one forum member (sajid.ali) DID confirm that the OEM harness was, in fact, available behind the plastic covers of the SE (http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11178-turn-signal-mirrors/?p=96651). You're best bet is to take a peek behind the bumper and confirm yourself. Again, you're better off with the DTBL given the compatibility with ANY trim level edge and the additional benefits and features vs OEM.
  16. You're better off with these. They'll work perfectly with your SE. http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/Daytime_running_lights.html They work as DRL (as designed) and dim (to 70% of DRL/daylight mode brightness) when your headlights come on.
  17. You ever notice some cars have lights on during the day (or when it's not dark)? Those are DRL's (Daytime Running Lights). Most Fords do NOT have them activated by default (i.e. Canadian versions, do). The OP had his activated.
  18. Would that spoiler help to avoid this? No? Then don't do it...
  19. How's the stubby working for you guys? I remember getting one for my escape two years ago and the radio reception was horrible (probably just related to the escape). I've got the mini (the car) antenna on my edge now and have prefect reception. The stubby is a quality product, however.
  20. Dan had indicated in the main thread that he would receive the first shipment the week of June 3rd and start shipping them out soon thereafter (about 2 - 3 days transit to the end user). Cellbine had mentioned they would match up nicely with 5K's. Not trying to be a pr!ck (I did bother to respond ), but both questions were answered in the main thread (http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12451-new-photos-movie-trailer-edge-2-next-gen-daytime-running-lights/), which should be read.
  21. You could simply use the cabin air filter and place it in the seat. Or, wait until someone from Filtrete R&D reads this forum.
  22. It worked just fine. Ford seats can detect when someone crop dusts and immediately allows one window to be released from windows lock I would have opened the door, no matter the speed.
