?? two isolated issues that may or may not have a related cause ?? Until you have enough observational data and a few tests with those observations, treat them as separate issues. Maybe be something as simple as a harness issue.

Here is the problem you're going to run into - I know because I just went thru this to get mine. You have to have a title to sell a car. To have a title you have to pay it off ... and there be the rub. Unless you've talked to the bank that holds the title and they're willing to do a transfer of ownership and financial responsibility. Now my situation was a ford lease program .. but I'd imagine that you're going to have the same kind of flaming hoops to jump thru.

The reason why you might be having trouble with this one is that they're considered the same company as of July 25, 2008. That being said there are technical differences between the two such as receiver hardware. With the Edge and its Sony premium sound system it's so tied into the radio and or MFT that there would not be a way to switch it. You could however ignore it and get XM in car receiver and listen thru it. But I would put this to you, why? You can virtually the same programming from either. Save the differences like NFL vesus MLB or Stern vesus Opie & Andy or Martha versus Opra. Ok so there are some programming differences ... but still ... in my opinion, less than a dozen of them are worth the subscription. IMO.

70mph and a ~330 miles. Gaud I love that adaptive cruise. Detroit where I picked it up to ~50 miles west of Chicago where it lives. 330 mile trip and basically ran it empty ... pulled into my neighborhood gas station and filled up with 19.4 gallons. It holds 19.7 !

Jet skis shouldn't be any issue at all. However ... you need to find out the total weight of that boat. My dad had a 3 meter hardtop that nothing short of a full sized pickup truck with weight in the bed would work. If you're talking about a ~17' fishing boat, motor, gear and fuel, you're looking at about 2000lbs. (~1000lbs for the hull, ~350 for the trailer, motor, mehh ~300lbs, plus plus plus) There the issue can come in here is traction on the slippery ramp and how steep it is. I've watched full size 2wd trucks back in to retrieve their boat and not have the traction to pull it up .... in which case a tow strap and a 2nd card is the solution. Big thing is before you buy the boat, get the weight and the dealer can also get you the estimated total for the rest of the gear.

I've had mine for a couple of months and only crashed once or twice in that time. Usually when I'm using its "off the beaten path" functions. (i.e. not your everyday functions) So .. google not really an option when already IN your car. And path of least hassle for me is to just do it on my garmin mounted by the "A" pillar. 20 seconds and its done ! Oh well

I think you're referring to the GPS's "Area of Accuracy" circle. There is an actual name for that like AoA or AoE, can't remember. But basically you're vehicle can be anywhere inside that circle. Not actually in the center of it where ever that may be. The US Department of Defense can dial back the accuracy in times of war such that civilian GPS units will suddenly become way less accurate. At least that is the way it was back in the day. Civilian units were only accurate to 90' if I recall. Now most modern, multi-channel units are accurate to ~9 feet. (3 meters) An area smaller than most cars foot print !

I needed to vent ... and this is why I have a secondary nav screen/device in my Edge. People ask me why I have my Garmin 2455 mounted next to the drivers "A" pillar. Doesn't your Edge have navigation ... answer: yes. However, I don't want to be locked to the nav screen when routed. My Garmin is updated far more frequently (4-6 times per year). It routes better and as I learned today... you can't navigate to a address that is a rural fire number with MFT. Example .. try as I may, I was totally unable to speak the address of 5S345 Some St, Any Town (example address - duh) MFT simply doesn't know five south three forty (or four) five Some St. Then I tried to manually input this address and learned that since it doesn't know it you don't have the option to press "S" on the keyboard to enter the South part. Then, somehow I was able to get it to take this by modifying the order in which I was entering the address and ended up at a screen with all the correct address data but with no way to execute the Set as Destination command !! Grrrr ... strike three .. reached up to the Garmin and 20 seconds later was routed and I was on my way !!! Was I doing it wrong ? Has any one else run across this ? And why do some of the simplest functions seem to have escaped the engineers at Ford ... did they not hand it to a "user" and say "play with this and tell me what you think" (rhetorical question)

What he ^ said ! The door sensor not thinking the door is full close is most likely the issue. The computer is thinking, "why unlock the door if its already open, silly human !" Speaking of computer confusion, for those of you who have remote start ... press lock once and then start 3x's. The third time will shut the engine off right away. Now, try to remote start it ... you won't be able to .. and it'll just honk its horn at you in defiance. Waiting a few minutes or getting in and starting it from the seat will return it to normal operation ... weird.

The "cover" is a big thick rubber foam, boot if you will. Its mainly there to deaden the noise created by the fuel injectors and quiet the noise of the engine over all... oh and it also looks nice. I had my concerns about it being a thermal barrier as well. I guess we'll see if it gets cold this winter. So far this summer, no "heat frustrations" noticed.

I just installed a pair (because they finally shipped, BO'd) of the type 1's and love them. Just as bright or maybe a tad more so that the originals (amber) and I love the effect of the snapping back and forth from white to amber. 2011 Limited AWD, 302A. What is the attraction to using the type 2's ?

Not sure what a CPO is ... but I just purchased from a private party via a dealership (due to it being on lease) a 2011 Limited, AWD, with the 302A package on 20's, towing package and 8500 miles on her when I found her and paid 30k. Might serve as a measuring stick of what you can (could) find.

Also I don't think that home link can do the scanning code type garage openers. The kind that change codes between the door opener mounted to the ceiling in the garage and the remote that you have in your hand. I've got the old square box type and they programmed right up. One side for the wife's car and the other is mine. The middle one is programmed to my brother's house even tho he's not lived there for some time ... drives the owners nutz. Every morning for the past month .. their garage door is open when they come out. Muhaha ! :evil2.0:

You're not alone. But I would say that similar keys are not going to effect it. Not really secure it they could, right ? I was showing off mine to some friends and handed them the key fob, told them to stick it in their pocket and walk up to the locked car, open it and sit down. Press the breaks and press the start button on the dash. Easy nuff right. Wrong .. they touched the door knob ... pull it open I exclaimed. NOW GET IN !!.. (gezzzz) "oh this is neat" yeah .. now press the break .. well .. long story short, I had the same experience as you did, right down to opening the rear gate (to show them the back while I think about how the hell I'm going to get out of there) About 3 minutes passed when we said good bye. I walk up to the door like nothing happened and sat down, and it started right up. I passed it off as things getting out of sync (HA ! I cracked a funny). Hasn't happened since ???

I ordered a set like Cellbine about 2-3 weeks ago .... still haven't received mine. I called and kindly had my attention drawn to the "back ordered" on the web link as well as my email. These are the 6k type 1 that are on back order. Oh the wait !

Well ... I guess that as a systems engineer I get spoiled with all the latest and greatest toys ... we've had multi format DVD drives in everything for the last 5 years. Like the disappearance of the floppy drive, I've not seen a CD only drive for some time now. Yes, this was what I was doing and when it kicked it back out .... that was what i was expecting the answer to be. So what if any formats of video can it play from the USB ports that have been witnessed ? I no longer trust the propaganda. My Pandora works as well via BT ... that is to say I can hear music (youtube.com/watch?v=dH7JBQ5cVRA - also look up rude boy) but as you've pointed out, all control is via the phone. I guess I was expecting more. So all they've done is give me BT versus 3.5 mm phone jack ... The crazy thing is that sub $200.00 aftermarket units have been able to do what we're talking about for years. Why is it that when "they" decide to do something that "they" do it half arse'd and when it fails they say, "see, it was never very popular" when it was a flawed implementation that held it back. Sigh .. I must await till "they" wake up. Your last sentence .... amen ! Side note and off my own topic ... check out the you tube linkage. Simply amazing and sounds great on a 1200watt system.

So I have had my 2011 Edge Ltd (Rapid Spec 302A + towing) Sitting in park, engine running: 1) If I insert a plain jane movie DVD in the appropriate slot, nothing. A few seconds later it spits it right back out. What am I missing ? What movie files type should I be able to play from a USB stick ? 2) I had a DroidX and stream via blue tooth Pandora to the system. However, there is no music info or album art. It always just reads, "recording3213746" (random number) and that is all I get. I thought that there was suppose to be much more integration between the two. Title, album art, artist, etc. What am I missing ? 3) Same DroidX, I can answer and make calls w/o problem. I can list and manipulate the phone book. However, the several pictures that I have associated to people in the address are not in the Edge's phone book. A re-download had no effect. What am I missing ? Is there a manual way to download pictures to the phone book in the Edge and assign them to phone book entries ?
