  1. It'd been a few weeks since I'd been up here and had missed the 3.6 update to FMT. I did this yesterday afternoon and will report back my test results under this new FMT software but I'm not holding my breath since it showed up in the middle of updates of either software. (i.e. no updates had been done just before it started)
  2. That is the delay feature that leaves the camera active when shifting to drive until you reach 15 mph. Mine was on, the update turned it off. I had to turn it bak on again. Also .. I lost all my custom wall papers. Which didn't make me happy as due to a HDD crash I no longer had the original works. ~2hrs each to clean them up and format of position and fill. Other than this ... the update took a long time (~30 minutes) and I like the full quadrant selecting of the four systems. BT connection announcement is much more brief which could be the BT connecting speed or that they changed the announcement text (should have been "Searching for BT devices" and leave it at that) It sounds like they also sped up or removed timing spaces between her sentences when she is speaking. Again, chicken or the egg. Is the MFT running faster or did they just speed up the speech. Looking over the update files .. the largest collection of data appeared to be speech / language data.
  3. Do you have the stock universal garage door opener in the visor ?? This could be some implementation for that. I did something like this a long time ago where I disassembled a standard garage door opener ..soldered leads to the contact pins that energize the transmitter and a momentary contact pin switch .. then installed it all in my dash with the switch mounted. Worked great and looked factory not to mention it impressed many.
  4. Wow ... just now seeing this update .. downloading update as I type this .. some things I've noted while reading this thread from start to finish .. DST start and stop dates/times have been an ongoing thing in the US for a while now. That being said .. there are charts that plot the dates and times out years in advance. (wiki it) WiFi in via MFT ... extra charge for tethering. -> there are "apps" that allow you do to this (for free) and if you setup your cell to do tethering .. why even bother with MFT middle man?? WiFi link in MFT - why keep it .. because I'd like to be able to from my house, via WiFi connected MFT in my separated garage send my Ford an address or route from my Google map search that I just did. Now before we all get excited, no, it can't do this, ... yet. Google used to have the ability to do something close to this but they stopped due to some licensing disputes if I remember correctly. But gezz wizz .. the hardware is there .. we know how to do this ... this is NOT rocket science. Ford stop f'in around and listen to "real" users, YOUR customers ! Secondary Navigation Screens. This is becoming a common configuration in $$$ cars that have NAV systems. A separate screen that does NAV. This way you can mess with radio (or other functions) and still see that you have to take a left turn NOW ! This usability, Garmins update frequency, and its ease of use interface was why I retained my garmin Nuvi and mounted it next to the "A" pillar. I can target a location in >60 seconds. With MFT, I'm still arguing with the interface that where I'm looking for actually DOES exist ! opps .. down load done ..... I'll update report success in a bit. (I hope)
  5. Badge on the back lift gate .. I'm pretty sure it'll say FWD or AWD ... and contrary to my first assumption, FWD does NOT mean Four Wheel Drive !! Also - there should be controls on the dash, left MFT screen to monitor the "stabili-trak" doing its thing.
  6. This has been a fairly frustrating trouble shooting phase so I’ll try to be as complete as possible. Symptoms: When listening to Pandora via BT connection from my Motorola/Verizon Razr Maxx v4.1.2. randomly Pandora will skip to the next song at ~10 second intervals until limit is reached or phone is rebooted. Observations/tests: 1. When MFS BT reads "unknown" on main screen, there will be no problem. (until once yesterday) 2. When MFS BT displays a file name of a notification from my droid … Pandora will skip. 3. If I reboot the phone, once connected again via BT, it will work w/o skipping. (until once yesterday) 4. Using a different phone, it works correctly w/o skipping. Wasn't able to test for many days/month tho. 5. Power cycling car has no effect. Once connected back up via BT, if it was skipping before, will still skip. 6. After a non-functioning BT connection episode, resetting (fuse pull) MFS seemed to have been the start of this. 7. Resetting (fuse pull) MFS since has not changed the random frequency of occurrence. 8. Razr had Zelge installed to download notification sounds .. I've stopped, cleared cache, and eventually removed. No change. 9. Changed around notifications on cell – didn’t happen for a few days .. then started up again. 10. Establish BT connection to Razr – then start Pandora … no change, can still happen. 11. Have Pandora running then connect to MFT via BT .. no change, can still happen. 12. Pandora plays normally on Razr when not connected to MFS 100% of the time. 13. No other anomalies on either Razr or MFT (beyond the normal, abnormalities that is) 14. This function has been working since I purchased my Edge a year ago. 15. Razr and MFT are both up to date with respective software/firmwares. I've talked to other owners of various cell phones with various BT connected radios in their cars and most have experienced this phenomenon either once or frequently. Has anyone here experienced this and has anyone found the “blue pill” solution ?
  7. Yea... what RJG said .. the recirculate setting closes the outside air dampers so that you're not constantly trying to dehumidify the hot, humid outside air. The system just constantly recirculates the interior air. (hence the name) I've got to have it nearly refrigerated and a setting of 68`, recirculate, ~70% on the fan... and I'm all good . and at some point have to re-direct the cold air else where in the cabin.
  8. Besure that the safety zones are not turned off in the software. This suddenly happened to me and I was reminded by a few users here that there is a enable/disable setting. Mine decided it suddenly wanted to be disabled. Re-enabled it and that was that. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12029-f29-reset-back-up-cam-has-changed/?do=findComment&comment=92084
  9. now if we could find someone who made larger diameter rotors and extender brackets for factory calipers (or extended calipers) so that everything looked proportional. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder .... good start Cody.
  10. not for nothing .. but that Armada install is a piece of artwork. The design of the cabinet, the fit, the layout. He deserved to win 1st place. And nothing against you, you were just testing the waters .. but you basically set a box in your trunk.
  11. I'm guessing that this is going to be a dealer ship setting. As in they connect their computer to your Edge's and flip the switch there. I know there are a LOT of settings that the user can't see or set that are accessible via the mechanics interface
  12. Not saying this is what happened .. but its what I've come to realize. These systems are not as "fast" and forgiving as most of the electronics gadgets we've become accustomed to. They are a little slower to respond and get confused easily. There is a sequence that you have to do to start the car either remote or sitting in the seat and pushing the button. The two times I've had this happen to me, the 1st was when I was showing it off to a friend and I handed them the fob and told them do A - B - C and it will start. Not being familiar with the process they pressed a button out of sequence and tried a door handle, start button out of sequence and there was going to be NO starting for me for 3-4 minutes. "No Key Found" I think the system has a epileptic seizure and needs a 3-5 minute period where it gathers its senses. In reality its just resetting its timers. The second was I'd placed my fob in my left rear pocket. Moving it to the front right quickly resolved it All this is just my observations and anecdotal evidence, and while I'm not a Ford engineer, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Sometimes I think Ford would do well to have a "everyday person" on the design team. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10788-edge-did-wierd-thing-last-night/?do=findComment&comment=81697
  13. 2011 Limited with 302A package and I to can not say enough cool things about this piece of technological hardware. Its better then freaking lasers. I tend to "rubber neck" on paths that I've taken more that 87 times and the collision detection paid for itself the second week I had my Edge. One thing that I wish the adaptive cruise would display is when your speed is being altered by the system. Example, turn the little car symbol yellow. For aggressive driving I tend to disable the adaptive function and just maneuver around the slow pokes.
  14. 2011 limited ... mine has play in it as well .. nothing measurable.. but when I clean it with my figure, I can feel it move slightly.

    Rain Water

The rain gutters of yesteryear are a victim of sleek, aerodynamic, fuel efficient designs of today. As smooth as possible. I just experienced the hydrophilic properties of my windows yesterday whilst in the rain .. even standing still it pulled rain from 5 feet away and into the window opening ..
  16. 2011 AWD limited ... drive to dash reports zero ... then I know I have 10 miles beyond that ..and I've pushed that to 12. The most I've put in the tank was 19.8 us gallons. This was fill to click and then again rounding to the nearest .25 cents.
  17. Also - I didn't see mentioned that when you get the Ford towing package it includes the 2" tow receiver, Upgraded cooling fan and radiator as well as a towing setting in the intellitrack that is suppose to make towing more stable. With all that ... Ford says up to 3500lbs. Here is the official Ford info on my 2011 Ford Edge Limited with tow package .. http://www.ford.com/resources/ford/general/pdf/towingguides/11FLMRVTT_EdgeNov18.pdfhttp://www.ford.com/resources/ford/general/pdf/towingguides/11FLMRVTT_EdgeNov18.pdf
  18. That is the "See America" by Ford option. You can disable it. (get a garmin :hysterical2: ) did you notice that you Capitalized All Your Words In Your Post ? Just wondering ... :shades: Sry I've got no constructive help for you except to say, get a Garmin .. they're far superior in every way IMO.
  19. OP - Voice recognition is different from the NAV update that was done. The NAV update to the maps ... as in new streets, POI's etc. But tis true enough, MFT has a hearing problem. I had to rename my wife in my phone book .. I kept calling a company.
  20. again ... for what should be a universal function ... they've programmed into a few, but not all, capable vehicles ... I just don't get it. That would be a awesome feature ... I'll not purchase a Fusion over a Edge just because of it. I did however purchase a Edge Limited over a Sport for the adaptive cruise among other cost of ownership reasons. $$
  21. Shipping stores have the bags with the instant expanding foam. I was thinking about trying one of those for my 2011 ltd and a hitch. Activate the foam, place the bag in the pocket and a few seconds later set the hitch down on it and let it sink in .... it will setup in a matter of a minute and you have a perfectly formed pocket for it.
  22. "I have a whining noise of some sorts that gets louder when I accelerate. " I had the same problem. Turned out to be my wife !
  23. Have you seen this ? Might be an easier approach. Kind of, "Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth. There is no spoon."
