  1. I wonder if those battery based PCM memory savers in the "cigarette lighter" will keep the PCM relearn from happening with these modern vehicles ...
  2. That sucks! Didn't expect that from the trans. The PTU is usually the one to explode. Any warranty coverage?
  3. Tooling around the web this AM. Ran across this site that can help locate the A/C low pressure port on your vehicle: http://acprocold.com/ask-the-pro/port-locator/ http://acprocold.com/port/2008-ford-edge/ For the 2008 Edge, they show it to be under the PCM harness, at the firewall like so:
  4. Offtopic: Pretty good price in the 255/55/18 size, which would fit the SEL! I have 421Q's on order, hopefully will get this week
  5. Welcome to the forum! That clicking sounds like either a halfshaft/CV joint or a hub. Is the sound louder in any one particular direction as you turn the steering wheel left or right, or take a left turn or right turn? Do you hear it when the Edge is stopped/idling? When was the last oil/filter change, and do you know what was used as replacement? At least should be Motorcraft synthetic blend 5W20 oil and Motorcraft FL500s oil filter. Could be a driveshaft issue as listed on this website: http://www.procarcare.com/includes/content/resourcecenter/encyclopedia/ch22/22tsdriveshaft.html It is normal for the fuel injectors to tick on a regular basis, just wanted to rule that out right away.
  6. A Ford dealership might have it, or EBAY, or Colgan (manufacturer) website ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/lebra-front-end-mask-cover-bra-ford-edge-2007-thru-2010-/360354286116 One such discussion on the forum: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/5459-car-maskbras-for-2010-ford-edge/
  7. You mean the grille? You can find examples on EBay.
  8. Throw a tune on the '11 and enjoy better power/shifting
  9. Congrats on the '11 Sport! Nice to see another 2-Edge family
  10. Did you check out this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17808-ive-got-a-rattle/
  11. Try electrical parts/MAF sensor cleaner instead of WD40. Don't want residue on the door latch contacts, which WD40 will definitely leave. When you spray the cleaner, don't spare it, go to town. I believe 2011edgese has a couple of pics to assist with the technique he used.
  12. I am currently using this device, the VGate, that plugs into the OBD port under the dash. Once the key is switched to RUN, it is available to your iDevice to hook up to wirelessly (it will be listed as VLINK) and automatically (no configuration). It polls at an average of 55ms, which is way better than the 125ms I was getting with this PWow adapter. Reliability to be determined. You'd then start the Forscan Lite software and hit CONNECT to let the software talk to the OBD adapter. Once connected, click on TABLE, and select the PIDs you are interested in (there's a gear-type icon top right). Scroll down the list till you see the ETCxxx PIDs, select each one. Then click on the checkmark icon in the top right corner to finalize your selections. Click on the checkmark icon again to get back to the TABLE listing. You will see the PIDs with no values. Click on the PLAY icon (bottom left) to start recording. Then the values will be populated on the screen. Hit the STOP icon to stop the recording. Click on the SAVE icon (diskette) to EMail the recording as a CSV to your EMail. Once you connect to a real wireless network, these EMails will be actually sent out. This is all from memory, so I hope I got the sequence 100% right You can scan for error codes and other fun stuff too. If you want to view the streaming data as graph, select the GRAPH option instead of TABLE from the main screen.
  13. Is the vibration through the steering wheel, or floorboards, or ...? I assume the tire/wheel combos were roadforce balanced and an alignment was subsequently done? Were the brake pads/rotors checked while the wheels were off? Same for steering/suspension components like tie rods, control arms, etc.
  14. If you want, you can run Forscan Lite on iPad/iPhone ($5 I believe), and that will allow you to see the throttle commanded vs actual throttle (via datalogging), among many other fun & interesting things. If you have a Windows phone or tablet, you can run the regular Forscan software.
  15. Motorcraft OEM plugs SP411 are all you need, good & cheap.
  16. I hope FordService (Tricia & co) sees this soon, otherwise you can create 4 more posts in a TEST FORUM to get access to PM. Then click on this, http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?app=members&module=messaging&section=send&do=form and address the request to FordService.
  17. Hope they get you the upper manifold gaskets and not the lower ones!
  18. The dealer might even match the online price, worth asking.
  19. The latest update was mid Feb, so they may have been taking a shortcut. Can't say if the TSB works/doesn't work if it is not applied properly.
  20. This is what Ford lists on their lubricants/greases page: http://www.fordparts.com/Products/Chemicals-Greases.aspx And here is the specific product mentioned in the TSB: https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubricants.com/Main/msds/us174336us_supplier.pdf Ford Multipurpose Dry Film Door Latch Lube - Aerosol 5U7Z-19A501-A.pdf LONG LIFE LUBRICATING (XL5) Could be Teflon, Silicone, Graphite ???
  21. Interesting! At least you now have a key that will allow you to drive the way you need to! Glad omar's insight proved fruitful Looks like MyKey was standard equipment on the 2011: http://www.myfordedge.com/specs/2011-ford-edge-technology.php
  22. Welcome to the forum, John, and congrats on finding & nabbing a gem! Many happy motoring miles with your '11 Edge AWD/FWD? Color? Pics to share? Looking to keep it stock?
  23. Is it a metal line or a rubber line and can you get a pic? This is a listing of steering related parts: https://secure.revolutionparts.com/levittown-ford/auto-parts/2007/ford/edge/sel-trim/3-5l-v6-gas-engine/steering-cat/pump-and-hoses-scat Don't see a 3a563 in there.
  24. FordService is another user on here like u or me. Go here: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?app=members&module=messaging&section=send&do=form Then fill in FordService in the To/Recipient field and compose the rest of your message and send.
