  1. A single bulb, 9012 I believe. There's a shield that moves out when you turn on the highs.
  2. I have noticed something strange in my MKX, after turning off the vehicle. When I lock the car using the remote fob (or Intelligent Access button on the door handle), the center screen turns off immediately (after a shut down logo animation) and the Bluetooth connection disconnects from my phone. But, if I lock the car using the Lock Switch inside the car (then close the door while exiting), the screen will turn to a Date/Time display & remain on for a while (not sure, maybe 10-20 minutes), at the same time, the Bluetooth connection remains connected the whole time (if I am near the car). So, as flyinlow007 suggested, try leaving the phone in the car (when leaving the car for a short run), but lock the vehicle using the inside door lock switch.
  3. In 2012, the Edge had the option of side mirror LED turn signals. So the wiring might be their, if so, you don't have to get wiring from all the way back. Just a thought.
  4. I know this is not a solution, but it might help. As per the owners manual, press AUX, then MENU (you will enter the Media Menu), go to "Select Source" and select "Bluetooth Audio". Now this definitely is longer than using voice command, but perhaps it will remember the selection when restarting the vehicle.
  5. This thread might be useful. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/8393-2012-edge-se-stock-head-unit-replacement/
  6. I agree that MFT needs a lot of improvement. But I just can't understand how anyone can adjust the (Fan speed, interior temp, rear defrost & seat heater) without even looking where the buttons are! Apparently some people have super memory & hand position/location coordination! Radio preset & Audio source can be done through the steering wheel controls, so can be done without really taking eyes off the road. By the way, with MFT, YOU CAN adjust fans speed, interior temp, rear defrost, most (if not all) audio controls (including radio presets) using voice commands. which is true "hands free" operation.
  7. I guess some people just don't like MFT. I find the infotainment system in my father's '13 ES350 to be very awkward. MFT (or MLT) to be straight forward. You just tap what you want instead of using a mouse-wannabe joystick that needs a lot of concentration or you'll overshoot what you need to click, and often have to go through several menus to get it. MFT/MLT's problems where the earlier versions in addition to being slow. Otherwise it is simpler than other systems.
  8. The coldest we have ever seen was maybe 9°C.
  9. Ford recommends 10W30 oil in the GCC countries. Ford number "ZO-10W30-QSP". That's from Ford's supplementary maintenance guide provided with my 2011 MKX.
  10. Same issue Explorer owners faced here. It seems it was something new end of 2012 or start of 2013 model years. And this was suggested as might be a reason.
  11. @TheyCallMeBT, The Edge (&MKX) feels like small car compared to a friend's Expedition (2011) that I drove a few times. Some people just prefer the "Truckness" that comes with large body on frame SUVs. I would suggest you try the new Explorer, as it drives somewhere between an Expedition & an Edge. Perhaps even closer to the expedition than the Edge, at least that's what I fealt.
  12. Its an SEL. You can see the "L" in the first picture. Also, SE models in US have 17" wheels.
  13. If it's an early build 2011, you have to go to the dealer for the updates. In any case, the warranty for the APIM (MFT) has been extended by 2 years on all Ford/Lincoln vehicles regardless of mileage, so yours would be covered.
  14. Since your talking about Air Filters, I have noticed that the replacement filters (FA-1884) is different than the one that came in the car from factory. Same part number, but the factory one was orange/yellow with a steel mesh, the replacement is black/white. Wonder what is the difference & which is better (if any is).
  15. The link you have is the latest (3.6.2), for some reason the number on the file's name has v361 which makes you believe its 3.6.1, but it is actually 3.6.2. So it should work. On the other hand, since your still on 3.0.2, I would recommend first installing 3.5.1 because it was a complete flash. The update file was huge (~1.2 GB) unlike other updates that were only ~550 MB. Then update to 3.6.2. I have attached both TSBs for v3.5.1 & v3.6.2. Note: For my brother's 2012 Explorer, it has 3.0.2 which was not confirmed at Syncmyride, hence Syncmyride was indicating the current version as 2.11 & it still made us update directly to 3.6.2 which worked fine without problems. Note 2: If you have navigation, you probably will need an updated SD Card for it to work. TSB 12-11-01 (MFT v3.5.1).pdf TSB13-08-02 (MFT v3.6.2).pdf
  16. Will not work straightforward. They might work with a special adapter (if any exists).
  17. The center hub diameter is different, 63.4mm for 2011+ and 70.5mm for 2010 and below. So the 2009 wheels will have a bigger center hub hole.
  18. Remote start can be activated at any dealer, you just need the IDS (or whatever they call it). One member even bought it & activated remote start himself (Sajid.ali). Navigation, on the other hand, is kind of a one time setup at the factory, once it is set up for "Nav or no-Nav", it cannot be changed.
  19. This is exactly how they work on my car, 2011 MKX with factory HID, no matter how long or short you hold the lever, but that's only during the day (headlights off). If the headlights are on, the highbeams will turn on for as long as you hold (pull) lever, there is no minimum or maximum time.
  20. You can take out the emergency key (that's inside the fob) and keep it with you for emergencies, or you can copy it to a regular key to put it on a key ring along with your other keys.
  21. If you want bright, choose 4300k colour as it gives the most light. Stock HID is also 4300k.
  22. Not the standard Limited. You have to have Equipment Group 301A or 302A to get the Driver Entry Package which includes the "Push button start" & remote start.
  23. Try installing 9011 in place of 9012, there is a slight difference in the base similar to 9006 Vs. 9005. 9011 are 65 watt bulbs with about 2350 lumens.
  24. Disconnect the battery for a few minutes to force a reboot (or pull fuse#29 or ) to see if the system starts.
