  1. Might be a 2013 thing? My 2011 does not show anything except when the fogs are on.
  2. Search for HIR (with an R) bulbs. They are much brighter & illuminate better. They are some times reffered to as 9011 & 9012.
  3. Is there a source were I can get one for the 2011 MKX?
  4. ^^ What Dingo said. When headlights are set to auto, they will turn on when the wiper are activated.
  5. Yes. Only the front portion opens, the back is fixed.
  6. Timing chains should last the life of the vehicle. Never heard or read about timing chains needing regular replacements.
  7. Simple solution? Colors! Each tire stem can have a colored ring & thus the vehicle can indicate tire pressures by color which would be programmed only once! But there is aleady a solution in variuos other cars, a simple re-learn procedure that can be repeated each time tires are rotated, that starts with the Front Left tire, then Front Right, Rear Right & last Rear Left. Hech even Fords have that re-learn procedure, and with the same tire order, but Ford just doesn't make use of the added info of knowing which tire is which! I geuss they left out the added info to avoid extra complaints, customers would start complaining why is the pressure not accurate? Why don't I get reading while the vehicle is stationary, why is the pressure reading different compared my X-brand tire pressure gauge & so on!.
  8. So called "Direct" TPMS have Sensors in each tire that would wirelessly send data to the vehicle with information. Some vehicle have "Receivers" at each wheel well to collect the data, in which it is simple for the vehicle's PCM to know which wheel it is. Other vehicles (Fords included) receive the wireless Data from all four (4) sensors through one receiver (usually the same receiver of the Keyless remote), hence the vehicle needs to learn which sensor is for which tire & in case of tire rotations, it should be re-learned. Apparently, Ford chose the easy way by just complying to minimum law requirement of providing just a "Warning Light", which is better than nothing, but could have easily been turned to a much more useful feature by means of clever engineering without added equipment cost!
  9. I also remeber that there were several zoom levels. Furthermore, earlier, there was also a cancel button when you shifted to Drive (if you had the Rear Camera Delay feature on), now they removed it.
  10. Someone who didn't receive the update e-mailed support and got a reply: As for your case, having Navigation, you can go to your dealer to perform the update & get your SD card from them.
  11. Have you ever changed the Cabin Air Filter? Its behind the Golve box, it might cause the fan to work harder if it is blocked. Just a thaught.
  12. I previuosly updated to V3.5.1 using the TSB, now on www.SyncMyRide.com, the update history shows new text undert he Description of the update, whats new is that it now shows what kind of improvements came with the 3.5.1 update: Return of the outside air temperature to the 8-inch display Updated phone pairing process Enhanced voice and screen destination entry for SD Card Navigation (if equipped) Simplified voice commands for music Enhancements to voice recognition Updated SYNC/device compatibility information SyncMyRide is planning a shutdown in the coming 2 hours, maybe the update is planned for thoses who did not update through the TSB yet.
  13. ^^^ What he said, in addition, the Perimeter Alarm will sound your horns & flash the lights if any door, liftgate or hood is opened without unlocking the vehicle using the IA (Intelligent Access) fob or the keypad.
  14. This shows where the new "Off" setting is located:
  15. In my 2011 MKX, I remember the screens would be on, but they would have some kind a white "Flow" image, kind of like the screens are white near the speedometer and get gradualy darker on the oppisite sides.
  16. The center screen only. Console buttons remain on.
  17. To keep the camera on when shifting back to drive is a feature that can be turned on in the vehicle settings of the MFT screen. The camera will remain on until you reach a speed of about 5-10 mph. Before the 3.5.1 update, there used to be a cancel button to cancel the feature when you shifted to drive (a one time cancel), but with 3.5.1, there is no cancel button.
  18. In the V3.5.1 update they added an "Off" option for the Display so you can have it completely off. It comes back on by touching the display of the Sync voice button on the steering wheel.
  19. Found a new feature in the V3.5.1 update! You can turn off the MFT display under Display Settings. To turn it back on, simply touch the screen or right side steering wheel 5-button controls. And found a missing feature! If you have the rear Camer reverse delay (that keeps the camera on on drive until you speed), the button for "cancel" is gone. Now you HAVE to speed to dismiss the Camera!
  20. Good news, I hoped, but unfortunantly since the article states "Version 3.5", it means its the same update already available at dealers since early November (Version 3.5.1)! So don't get your hopes high, its a little improvement above version 3.2.2! There are already several threads discussing the upgrade. As for warranty, in March 2012 a TSB (CSP-12M01) already extended the warranty to 4 years for Fords & 5 years for Lincolns, so does this extend it a further a one year?
  21. Name the files in Alphabatical order and put them in one folder, then using the browse button in Radio screen, browse to the folder and select the first choice, its "play" or "play all". This way usually plays them in alphabatical order in my MKX.
