  1. Welcome to the site. The Edge did not offer cooled seats until the 2015 model.
  2. Today I was at the dealer checking the 2016 Edge, finally they arrived, unfortunately too expensive $54K! Anyway, I noticed that the seat backs, just above the rear map pockets, are perforated. Thought this might be a new change to allow the seat back to ventilate the heat. Maybe those facing the problem can chime in if this is indeed a new design change to fix the issue.
  3. Few members faced the same issue. Solution was to replace the wiper switch. Easy DIY and costs around $35.
  4. Bob, when the A/C is blowing hot, check what is the indicated outside temperature. I have noticed in my car (though older generation), after a better disconnect, the outside reading would not work for a while & during that time the A/C would not work correctly. Try also to use the Max A/C, or manually select the coldest temp to see if it makes a difference (system would not rely on outside temperature).
  5. The newer style also had an option of LED turn signal indicators, might want to consider them also, though you'll have to figure out the wiring for them. There was a member who wanted to do the opposite (install the older larger mirrors on his 2013 MKX), they bolted on fine but he got BLIS error, which I think is irrelevant in your case since you don't have BLIS nor do the replacement mirrors you need. 6. Jason (jmr061) is a member on this forum, and was able to make a mod to disable the double honk feature on some other Ford vehicles, including the MKX. Maybe he also do it for the Edge. This is a link to specific mod on his website: http://www.fordpimods.com/double-horn-honk.html
  7. The key fob only sends out signals (2011-2014 models), so no matter where you keep the fob, its battery drainage is the same. Since your Edge is a 2012, it is was probably a coincidence that the fob's battery reached its end while the car was with them.
  8. Or make it selectable in the settings menu! I never faced a problem that honking would at me would solve with my 2011 MKX that doesn't honk on me when closing the door without a key inside.
  9. Did you buy the car used? Might be some aftermarket alarm. If not, maybe a video/sound clip will help others understand what it is.
  10. Any updated TSB for this? The smells seems to have come back, or become more apparent recently.
  11. Since my turn signal stalk has been sticking lately, today I replaced it with a new one. I used the part number for a 2013/2014 Edge/MKX instead of the 2011/2012 part number. I checked beforehand and all other part numbers behind the steering wheel were the same, so I thought it must work, and it worked. The reason for different part numbers, I believe, is that 2011/2012 models have both the flash to pass & high beam on/off functions by pulling the stalk. 2013/2014, have pull for flash to pass and push for high beam on/off. Also the 2013/2014 part is cheaper & is now smooth to operate with a clear second detent for the turn signals. This is the part I bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111552985755 Edit: I just realized that the signals don't work properly, it only blinks 3 times either way, left or right. The turn signal is not going into the full turn signal mode. Need to investigate it a little.
  12. In the Explorer forums, many members found out that if a car charger is left plugged in the center console, it would adversely affect the remote's operation. Maybe it is something similar?
  13. Thanks, I did the same as you did, used this switch & used 3m double sided tape to stick the switch to the windshield at the top, just below the headliner. Does 90% of what I need as the rear dome light & cargo lights don't bother me at all.
  14. Though I have a MKX, but the MyTemp button does NOT illuminate. Only the button on the touchscreen is highlighted if MyTemp is selected. I'd guess it is the same with the Edge.
  15. I thought newer Fords have a 45 minute idle timer that turn off the engine if left idle that long.
  16. Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) Restraint System. It indicates that an anchor is present there.
  17. For sure the wheels also have an impact on ride harshness.
  18. Yours is a Sport, right? Sport models have a stiffer suspension that will definitely make the ride harsher.
  19. The Edge shows 2016 model info. It even states that clearly as "2016".
  20. Make sure you get the SoundScreen window. Base & SEL have a regular window while Limited & Sport got the dual panel version for sound isolation.
  21. I don't have a 2015/2016, but I'd say this disables the "Lock/Unlock" button from being operational when vehicle is locked. I think this would be useful to prevent the doors from being opened if a window is left open or was broken. To prevent an intruder from opening the door by pressing the unlock button from inside the car while it is locked.
  22. Thanks MAC for the reply, you stated earlier that there was difference between both Edges you got, that's what caught my attention & thought you might have resolved it. So after cleaning do they both now act the same way?
  23. Sorry for bringing this up, somehow accidently, your post came up & it is interesting as I think I feel the same with MKX as you describe (very sensitive throttle). Having only my car as a reference, never thought it was an issue. Did you eventually sort it out or find why do you have this difference?
  24. Might be a good idea to indicate what Edge you have. Year & trim level, new/used? if used what's the mileage? Generally speaking, the brakes are good on the Edge.
