  1. I think that's an acceptable tradeoff for the price you pay & the features you get, unless they affect the performance/operation of the car. Want better quality in the areas you don't see? Maybe check a German Luxury car or a Lexus. You can't have the same quality & features at a reduced price without tradeoffs.
  2. Unfortunately that's a tactic used by many dealers, especially in our region. Explain to them that regardless of service, the original PTU does not have any service requirement. So any missed schedule would not have affected the PTU, hence it should still remain covered by the extended warranty. If it fails, try to contact Ford Middle East customer support by phone. If it also fails to get positive results, then complain to the consumer protection agency or whatever it is called in UAE/Dubai.
  3. I remember that on earlier Edges, FWD models had smaller brakes compared to AWD.
  4. The BMS relearn process, if not using a tool, "takes approximately 8 hours for the Body Control Module (BCM) to learn the new battery state of charge. During this 8 hour period, the vehicle must be undisturbed, with no doors opened or keyless entry button presses. If the vehicle is used before the BCM is allowed to learn the new battery state of charge, engine off load shedding can still occur and a message may be displayed."
  5. If the Airbag light is not coming on, I'd suggest checking for trouble codes before attempting a fix.
  6. The TSB does list both 6F55 & 6F50. But it is only for those built between May 4, 2009 and April 15, 2015.
  7. The 13N02 program covers Edge/MKX vehicle built between May 3, 2010 through March 28, 2013. So a 2008 model would not be covered. I'd suggest fixing it ASAP on your cost, for your safety, and keep the receipts so that in case another program pops up that covers you vehicle you'd then be able to claim a refund.
  8. Jason, a member here, has a website that offers a way to disable the double honk, but it involves requesting a dealer to install/update a file using dealer IDS equipment. This might be the better way. An alternative would be to use a free software called ForScan with a compatible OBD2 adapter & you can do it yourself. Now I don't recall reading anyone specifically with a 2015/2016 Edge who tried to disable the double Honk, but I would expect it would be the same as the 2016 Explorer. Edit: Just don't forget the usual disclaimers that making any changes to your vehicle will risk causing damage & voiding your warranty.
  9. Is you Edge's build date within the range included in the extended warranty? Does the owner letter you have specifically mentiones your vehicle VIN? If yes then it should be covered. Checking my MKX's VIN on the Ford ETIS currently shows no outstanding field service action while it usually showed the 13N02, so I'd say there system is not acting correctly now, hopefully they will sort it out soon. You can also try to contact the Ford Service rep on forum, maybe they can help.
  10. I also agree with you Nick. I tried adding HID a couple of time previously, even on projector based headlights, and although the 1st impressions were always like "wow, much brighter" they never gave the same level of "useful" illumination (light on the road I use) as factory HID or even as halogen mods (H9 bulbs in H11 housings, 9005 in 9006 housing or HIR/9011 in 9012/9005/9006 housings), and worst of all, any non-factory HID mods caused considerable glare/blinding to others drivers, which I also suffer from others. The blinding/glare, in my opinion, is so bad that I think there should be more action from authorities regarding vehicles with blinding headlights.
  11. I agree. Also the driver's dead pedal (foot rest) is short on the 2015+. It feels like newer Fords are designed less for big people.
  12. Bumper covers are not the same. 2007-2015 MKX has the license plate on the bumper while the 2007-2014 Edge on the rear hatch.
  13. Would you happen to know which block(s) might be responsible for it from the 2011-2015 Explorer? It might be similar? Thanks for replying.
  14. For the camera, it usually means you need a new camera. Usually ~ $100/- & several members here changed it & posted very helpful how to with pictures. For the Nav, if yo have "Information" on the top right corner of the 8" dash display, then you don't have Nav or something messed up in the screen & most probably only a dealer will be able to fix it. If it tells something that the SD Card is not compatible, it would probably be because the MyFord Touch system was updated to a newer version that is not compatible with an old SD Card. Check what version is written on the card, I believe A7 is the latest & also make sure you update MyFord Touch to the latest verion.
  15. Jason, could you post the info? On my 2011 MKX I already have Global Open, but not close, I know that it might not be the same (2016 vs. 2011), but I would like to try it. Also, may I ask, how does the vista roof close with Global close? All the way? with the shade too?
  16. The "Fixed" guidelines are supposed to be there. If they are not coming, usually means the camera module need calibration/programming. A simple step any dealer should do easily or use the latest ForScan software.
  17. I`d agree it is a dangerous situation, in my case it wasn't a sudden failure. It came slowly. There is an extended warranty for 2010-2013 models. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/13888-13n02-extended-warranty-coverage-on-brake-booster/
  18. Check this post, maybe you could try to clean the camera first.
  19. As Akirby stated go to another dealer, it should also be covered by the extended warranty for the MyFord Touch (APIM).
  20. Yes. GCC Frequency is scanning all, 0.1 & 0.2 FM. Both 2008 & 2011 cars.
  21. This is for my 2011 MKX with GCC Radio frequency: Audio Control Module ACM 727-01-01 92A0 C000 0022 ACM 727-01-02 0031 ACM 727-02-01 6596 ACM 727-03-01 1446 ACM 727-04-01 0103 0239 This is for my old car, 2008 Taurus with GCC frequency, the radio looks similar to 2008 Edge: Audio Control Module ACM 727-01-01 0040 50BB 68E3 ACM 727-01-02 0031 ACM 727-02-01 0132
  22. Although this is tried for 2011+ models, to enable European radio frequencies you need to change the As Built Data using ForScan in the ACM module using in block "727-04-01" in the first box, change the 2nd digit from "0" to "1".
  23. Your Edge most probably stalled & that would explain the Power Steering since it requires the engine to be running to provide steering assist.
  24. I can't help where to find suitable caps, but note that the MKX you pictures also has the plastic skin (chrome cladding).
