I'd say it's most probably the switch itself. It's not hard to change. http://m.ebay.com/itm/281559535475 You can also remove fuse number 39 from the driver side kick panel fuse box

Vista Roof Broken!! Please Help!
omar302 replied to bahtx's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Unfortunately the same happened to my MKX!! The guides only come with the complete rail, ~ $345 for each side. Searching around online, I found some Escape owners that bought repair kits from a company called TG Automotive. I just e-mailed to ask if they plan to offer a similar kit for the Edge. Maybe if they get enough requests they'd consider it. Also, anyone can help in the procedure for changing them? They are called "Lift Channels", parts numbers 7T4Z78502C07B & 7T4Z78502C06B. My dealer quoted me $2,200/- for the whole job, they'd probably go down to ~ $1500, but that's still too much.- 3 replies

What do you mean by it goes too fast? you're supposed to be controlling the brake & accelerator pedals. I think you didn't read manual nor the instructions on the screen!

I bought thesame item as this, from the same seller, works fine for HS & MS Can with Forscan. The Camera programme function can also be done. http://m.ebay.com/itm/281861294247

E-Bay is also a good source. Here is one & you can make them an offer. Note: Make sure the mirror looks like yours, early 2011 models had larger mirrors like the 2007-2010 models while later builds had smaller mirrors used in 2012-2014 models. @MikeKiloXrayOhNiner replaced his older mirrors to the newer style, you can see the before/after photos to see the difference at the end of this thread

MACT once made a video about Low Frequency Dampers on the rear brakes, could also be an issue. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/18253-low-frequency-damper-removal-and-installation-with-pin-kits/ -
I would try to check if the part number they used the first time matches the part number in the TSB/extended warranty. Maybe they used an old part.

2013 Ford Edge key programming not working
omar302 replied to idunno's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Once you reach 4 keys you cant program anymore. Also you can't delete any key yourself. A dealer only can do it or someone with the right programmer. I assume your talking about the intelligent access keys, not sure if the is also a maximum limit for the regular keys or if the maximum number of keys is the same. -
Just trying to figure why would the Explorer have had better stock HID, did you see what model or part number are the stock bulbs on your Edge? A 2013 Explorer Limited a friend owns has Osram 66340HBI (D3S) stock from the factory, does you Edge have the same bulbs? The HBI are supposed to be a bit brighter than non-HBI (4650K vs. 4300K).

Latest update BT4T-14D544-BE. Experiences?
omar302 replied to Neil McLaughlin's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
This is an official export version, it is for North American vehicles exported to the Middle East and has no navigation, no 911 assist and no Sirius, as far as I know from our cars. It is version 3.8. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwHhsurV_XCoT1M2eXFZWWY2WVU/view?usp=drivesdk -
The 2 stage unlock is supposed to be with key fob unlock button, 1 press unlocks the driver's door & the 2nd press opens the balance doors. Same goes for the keypad. It is the first time I heard of it working as you described, but it would have been very convenient if my car worked the same way. Hope you you figure it out, Sometimes a battery disconnect, resetting the electronics helps sort them out, might want to try it.

Some members reported that simply disconnecting the actuator then reconnecting it solved the issue for some time. Might want to give it a try first before replacing it.

Replaced Rear Vision Camera - 2012 Edge Sport
omar302 replied to Kissel's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Anyone notice the camera prices increasing a lot lately?? It is now over $300. Same part number. https://www.levittownfordparts.com/oemparts/BT4Z19G490B http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-ford/bt4z19g490b I posted here because OP mentioned his purchase price, $ 106, which was in the same range as most places online before. -
Thanks, it seems strange how they would be 2012 models when manufacturing is through November 2010!

Refer to this post, Middle East 2007-2012 Edge & MKX have an extended warranty on the PTU for 10 years or 190,000 km. For 2013+ they added a drain plug to allow for periodical PTU oil changes. Also, the extended powertrain warranty is a Ford standard policy, it is 5 years / 100,000 km for Ford vehicles & 6 years / 110,000 km for Lincoln.

This article is about a company that dissembles cars for reverse engineering, the point is, the BMW example they had has 54,000 individual parts. If non fail, it would be a miracle! Then again, Ford's problem here, as stated earlier, that the part is still failing after several years in production, though truth be told, there have been at least 7 revisions to the PTU, and even though my MKX, being in the very HOT GCC, still has the original PTU with ~ 60K miles.

Did you check this video? Might be worth trying to clean the clad wheels. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/20032-video-on-why-fords-chrome-clad-wheels-are-costing-you-money-and-damaging-your-tires/
