Dual Climate Control Repair
omar302 replied to finzup's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Refer to posts #2 & #3 above. The blend door & actuator are not under the driver's seat, but under the dash on the driver's side. -
Just a possibility that maybe it was not equipped from the factory but the OOEM hitch was added by the previous owner. Do you have a window sticker to check the equipped options? if not, you can check using the VIN on https://www.etis.ford.com/and should show something like "With Class II Trailer Towing" under "Minor Features".

The engine & transmission are held together by 3 mounts. Front one is the Engine mount, rear is the transmission mount, and at the bottom is the torque arm (mount). With such high mileage , did you change the spark plugs? They could also cause some vibrations.

FT4Z78500A67A & FT4Z78500A66A Here is one on eBay with a photo: http://m.ebay.com/itm/122089664516 For that price ~ $100 each, I'd glue the old ones back.

Coolant is missing, MPG is poor. What is wrong?
omar302 replied to accent's topic in 2010 Edge & MKX
18 MPG in the City is good and as per EPA ratings. As for the coolant, did you try to fill it up & see how long it holds? -
Just in case you did not notice, lowering the seat bottom also pushes it back a little. What I mean, the seat up/down movement is not straight, it is tilted. So lowering the seat would give a little more leg room.

Congratulations on the new ride. Hope you enjoy it to the fullest. Regarding the smell at high RPM, check this thread. If your Edge is still under warranty try to get it fixed.
-
May I ask what part number for the rear pads where small & what Part number was correct (2013)?
-
The 2011-2015 MKX has rear LED lights, when I connect FORScan I find options under the body control module for front & rear bulb outage. The fronts are enabled & the rears are disabled. I believe that disabling the fronts also will make LED signals flash normally without the need for resistors. Since the option is available for the MKX, I would expect the same to be for the Edge.

Yes. Forscan cancalibrate the camera so the lines will show.

Dual Climate Control Repair
omar302 replied to finzup's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
An update to my issue, dealer found AC charge was a little low & topped it up. Now AC is back to normal, both sides cold. -
Try to do a self test. Upon exiting the actuators are calibrated, perhaps this might help. http://www.thedieselstop.com/forums/f185/hvac-eatc-self-test-diagnostic-blend-door-cycling-393130/#/topics/393130?_k=z6n9fz&nocache=1473652557709

There is no front camera on models before 2015.

Source We are deploying Aggressive Deceleration Fuel Shut-Off technology to improve fuel efficiency. ADFSO allows fuel supply to the engine to be shut off during vehicle deceleration and then automatically restarted when needed for acceleration or when the vehicles speed approaches zero. This new system builds on the Deceleration Fuel Shut-Off technology available in our existing vehicles by extending the fuel shut-off feature to lower speeds and more types of common driving conditions, without compromising driving performance or emission. This improved fuel shut-off will increase fuel economy by an average of 1 percent. An additional benefit is increased deceleration rates, which should extend brake life and improve speed control on undulating roads. Starting in 2008 this technology was implemented on the Ford Flex, F-150, Expedition and Escape and the Lincoln MKS and Navigator. We are continuing to implement it as we bring out new vehicles. For example, the 2011 Ford Edge, Ford Explorer and Lincoln MKX use ADFSO. The ADFSO technology will be a standard feature in all of our North American vehicles by 2015, and we will continue to expand implementation globally. The Engine without fuel is like a big pump that requires energy to turn, this energy it taken from the cars "coasting" momentum, hence slowing it down.

Ok, I am not finding it in the manual, but recent Fords have 2 newer features that have an affect to what you feel: 1) Aggressive Deceleration Fuel Shut-off (ADFSO), when costing the fuel supply is cut-off completely to save fuel which would feel like engine braking, completely normal. 2) When coasting, even in "D" without cruise control, the transmission (as far as I know) does actually downshift to reduce vehicle over speeding when coasting downhill. I think it detects being on a downgrade & hence shifts differently. I drove a 1999 Mercury Sable for a few years and remember how it used to coast, the car would seem like it doesn't slow down without brakes, a complete opposite to newer Fords.

2016 Edge speedometer light out temporarily ?
omar302 replied to luxpow's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
#1 is normal. The speedometer lights need to be very bright in daylight to be visible, but that would make them too bright for night time, so they dim. This is the same on the 2011-2014, also when they dim, the center stack Audio/HVAC switches light up. #2, if it is really a feature, then it is a very good one in my opinion. New cars with dashboards that automatically light up (like on the Edge) sometimes give impressions to owners that the headlights are on (as in older cars) & would then drive with no exterior lights on. -
Too little info on the info cluster screens
omar302 replied to luxpow's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
If I were to change the screens a bit, I would suggest giving the option to use the right display screen for functions of oon the left screen, for example if I had the full tach displayed on the left, then I could display fuel or trip on the right when I don't need the usual Nav/Compass/Audio display. -
Go to this site: https://www.etis.ford.com/ Click on the "Vehicle" tab, insert your VIN, then search under "Minor Features", you will find either 315 or 433 MHz

The door handle indent (on the outside) will not lock (work) without a fob near it from the outside. If the only fob is inside the car, the outside door handle will not lock/unlock with the intelligent access feature.
