I thought newer Fords have a 45 minute idle timer that turn off the engine if left idle that long.

Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) Restraint System. It indicates that an anchor is present there.

For sure the wheels also have an impact on ride harshness.
-
Yours is a Sport, right? Sport models have a stiffer suspension that will definitely make the ride harsher.

The Edge shows 2016 model info. It even states that clearly as "2016".

Make sure you get the SoundScreen window. Base & SEL have a regular window while Limited & Sport got the dual panel version for sound isolation.

I don't have a 2015/2016, but I'd say this disables the "Lock/Unlock" button from being operational when vehicle is locked. I think this would be useful to prevent the doors from being opened if a window is left open or was broken. To prevent an intruder from opening the door by pressing the unlock button from inside the car while it is locked.

Thanks MAC for the reply, you stated earlier that there was difference between both Edges you got, that's what caught my attention & thought you might have resolved it. So after cleaning do they both now act the same way?
-
Sorry for bringing this up, somehow accidently, your post came up & it is interesting as I think I feel the same with MKX as you describe (very sensitive throttle). Having only my car as a reference, never thought it was an issue. Did you eventually sort it out or find why do you have this difference?
-
Might be a good idea to indicate what Edge you have. Year & trim level, new/used? if used what's the mileage? Generally speaking, the brakes are good on the Edge.
-
I am not really audiophile person. They all sound good. But I also didn't try the 2016 MKX. It's just too expensive! Both the MKX as a car & the Revel audio option.

Here is an article about the system on the 2008 MKX.

The 3.5 V6 can tow 3500 pounds when properly equipped from the factory. The towing package includes upgraded cooling fans & an upgraded radiator.

I remember reading that for best snow wheels, the smallest stock wheel size is always better, in case of the Edge, that would be 17" or 18". Just a thought.

I was surprised that the part requires the complete rear glass to be changed. But it does seem to be an assembly! Though its not for $700!
-
Blind spot definitely wont work as it also needs sensors at the rear for detection. As for the signal lights, I don't believe anyone tried it before, best way to check is disconnect the mirror wiring in your Edge & see how many wires are used & if there are any unused connectors on the vehicle side. If all wires/connectors are used, then you'll need to run your own wires for them.

It is mentioned briefly on page 377. Maybe since 2011 was its first year it was implemented correctly or on earlier builds, though mine is a May 2011 build.
-
Both options have pro/con, the best option is for the vehicle to offer both. I have seen it in a Chrysler minivan & a older 200. One has a battery logo on the 12 volt cover & the other has a key (if I remember correctly).
-
As per the manual & the source book, the 2011 has the IOLM. Maybe setting it to any thing other than 100% would remove the intelligent part & switch to mileage based monitoring.
-
From the owners manual: With my 2011 MKX, I always reset it to 50% and consistently get the reminder at 5000 miles. For me it is so consistent that I don't believe it takes any thing into consideration except for distance. Also note that were I live we get extremely high weather, easily 120+ for most of the summer. Also our driving is an extreme city cycle.
-
As you mentioned & found out, the MKX uses a module with a theromelectric element & a fan. It actually uses the Peltier effect. There are no heating pads. I do not recall there being a timer for it, nor do I remember it ever cutting off. I'd guess you have something wrong with the seat climate module which controls both seats and it's the reason it is cutting off.

How To Replace Side Mirror?
omar302 replied to Osiris1975's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
EBay is usually a very good source for good used parts. But, looking at your photos, that broken plastic piece doesn't seem to be present in other mirrors! Are sure that is something original? You had your car since new? maybe a previous owner changed it? There are 2 types of mirrors for 2011, early builds had the larger mirror (similar to 2007-2010) while the newer builds got the smaller mirror. Both don't show that extra plastic trim! Ventilated/cooled seats in the 2016 fixed?
omar302 replied to mjonis's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
There is supposed to be a new TSB to fix it for the 2015/16 Edge & 2016 Explorer. Check this thread. -
Off topic, but somehow related, the courtesy wipe on the 2007 Avalon was speed dependent, the faster you drove, the earlier the courtesy wipe activated until you reached a certain speed when then the courtesy wipe would not activate. Talk about details. On topic, on the 2011 & newer Edge/MKX, the feature can be disable in the instrument cluster & is also available in the body control module. Maybe a dealer can disable it through IDS. Note: After using the washer the wiper would wipe 3 times, pause, then courtesy wipe, if I manually make a wipe immediately after the 3 wipes then I wouldn't get the courtesy wipe after the pause. If you dislike the courtesy wipe due to its timing, may this would help.
