Ambient Lighting Available Trim
omar302 replied to OnTheeEdge's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
As per the 2016 Edge Order Guide, the Ambient lights are standard on both the Titanium & Sport models. -
It seems you missed the post just above yours!

For the 1st question, the answer is no. The 20" wheels are a separate option than the 301A or 302A packages which included the push button start. But it seems the majority of optioned up (is that even term?) Edges are also optioned with 20" wheels. For your information, most people never notice the difference in ride/noise between the 18" & 20" wheels on the Edge, some even go as far as recommending the 22" wheels on the Sport. I myself never tried them back to back to make my own judgment. Also, you might want to look at the Lincoln MKX, it is the luxury version of the Edge, but about 99% of mechanical parts are identical, so the parts & service are the same, many body parts are different, obviously, but when shopping used the price different might not be that much. Also the Lincoln has a 4 year /50K mile bumper to bumper & 6 year/70K mile powertrain warranties (1 year & 10-14K miles more than Ford).

My new Edge is "pulling and veering" to the left...ANNOYING!!!
omar302 replied to fredro's topic in Owner Impressions
The TSB (attached) was for 2011 Edge/MKX. If you Edge is still under warranty, then definitely take it to the dealer before doing anything further. Also, like Akirby stated, swap the front tires to make sure it is not the tires & make sure there non of the brakes are dragging. TSB 10-24-8_Drift Pull Right.pdf -
Sport mode in Canadian 13/14 SEL AWD
omar302 replied to normcloutier's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
The difference between 18" & 20" is the weight. The wheel is heavier, obviously because it's bigger, but also the tire. Even though one might think that the wheel should be lighter having the same outer diameter but with a smaller hight (larger inner diameter), but checking tire specs, 20" wheels are either the same weight or slightly heavier than 18" wheels. -
Was not even trying to question your findings, I was surprised how there are gaps between the actual wheel and the chrome cladding. By the way, if you don't like the cladding, you can remove it. Was done by at least a member on this forum. I also tend to agree that balancing would not have differed (much) if P or LT was selected on the machine, but the fact that the selection is there would indicate that it is something the manufacturer of the balance machine considered.

Aren't tire sizes starting with "P" considered "P-Metric"? The Edge specified P245/60R18. If they were LT tires, they would have stated LT248/60R18. Here is info I found ion the "P - LT".

This reminds me, thanks @WWWPerfA_ZN0W & @george3359, I got the head cover replaced, under the standard bumper to bumper warranty since my MKX was still under it, at the time. @Tom Maiello, it is definitely covered under the basic bumper to bumper warranty, but I believe that also the extended drivetrain should cover it since "Valve Covers" is mentioned under the Engine components covered by it.

Mac, noticed in the road force balance, "LT tires" was selected, aren't the Edge's tires passenger "P" tires? Wouldn't that affect the balancing?

Arabski, I just remembered, in 2013 or 2014, the panel was changed to have a physical button for the hazard lights (flashers), earlierm Odell had a capacetive (touch) button. Make sure you get the newer one. Also, before changing the part, I suggest you remove it & see if the circuit at the back might be out of position which is causing it not to work. Maybe it can be fixed.

Please also post pictures from a distance to show how the Edge now looks.

4WD Escape 2017 versus AWD Edge 2016???
omar302 replied to CharPatton's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
The AWD (4WD) system of the 2017 is probably the same as the 2016. Between the Edge & the Escape, the AWD system should not be a factor for choosing 1 over the other, both probably have the same all wheel drive capabilities. The Explorer, on the other hand, even though it doesn't have a true 4WD system, it does have a the terrain management system, which is software based, but will help in certain situation better than a AWD vehicle without it. -
The fans would be the culprit if the A/C blows cold while moving, but cooling reduces when stopped or at low speeds. If the A/C is not cooling at any speed, then it is something else (regardless if the fans are ok or not). Just a reminder as it is often overlooked, did you check/replace the cabin air filter behind the glove box? It will affect the performance of the A/C if it is old or clogged.

Whats the part# for this ...
omar302 replied to CivicSi907's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I think that's the radio/center bezel. #14 in the diagram here. You can find it used on eBay. Just search for "07 Edge radio bezel". -
I wouldn't mess with that area as it is already optimised for proper air flow into the condenser/radiator and aerodynamics. Also some models have active grille shutters in the same area. I remember for the 2011+ MKX already, there are two different parts for the support behind the grille (the black mesh piece with holes in it) for tow & non-tow models, again confirming the airflow dynamics. Edit: the parts can be seen here.

The surge on regular fuel compared to premium could also be explained that on regular the PCM detected engine knock and thus retarded the ignition (I think that's the term) which lead to increased rpm to compensate for reduced engine power. While with premium, engine knocking wasn't present & hence no change in power & rpm.
