  1. I had 19B04 addressed on my 16 Sport on Thursday. The following day I noticed the steering wheel was slightly off center. Today I pulled the service manual procedure for the replacement and it calls for partial alignment which they obviously didn't do since the steering wheel was off center. I decided I better check all the programming stuff that was supposed to be done so I hooked up IDS and checked and nothing was done. All they did was do the physical steering wheel replacement and sent me on my way. I have a long email into them (polite) with what I discovered along with a print out of the service manual sections pertaining to everything that needs to be done when the steering wheel is replaced and everything highlighted that they forgot. The fun of waiting for a reply.
  2. Could be a ground issue. May want to check the two grounds on the headlamp connector and where they terminate on the frame.
  3. It’s NLA. Ford pulled the plug on selling it. No one seems to know why.
  4. I would be careful with anyone still selling them. Ford has issued a stop sale order to all dealers. This has been confirmed by several individuals working at different dealers that support (were trained on) the unit. No idea what the issue is...being an owner of one of the units it would be nice to know.
  5. Just a heads up I noted all online vendors had the SmartLink device listed as NLA. I contacted Nate at Fairway Ford where I got mine and generally recommend people go to get info and purchase one. He told me Ford has halted the sale of Smartlink and his feeling is they will not be restarting it.
  6. This thread isn’t meant to complain or praise anything. Please do that in another thread and keep on topic...the topic is pretty simple
  7. Thanks...if anyone with a 19 has something different please post it but guessing nothing newer is out.
  8. Just curious if anyone with a newer 19 Edge could let me know what map version is installed. Info would be under the about menu under general settings I believe. Thanks Jason
  9. I have had my pan replaced twice. I think the Edge is a really nice vehicle. Since they followed the new procedure it hasn't leaked. Well over 10000 miles since it has been replaced. I'd have to pull the exact mileage. Not sure what causes it to leak in the first place (it would be nice to know if robots put it on or humans and how long it is allowed to cure before putting oil in etc) but as far as dealer replacements go it brings in the human error factor. One tech could be great at the job and another might suck at it. It involves having to scrape the old sealer, clean it, dry it, run silicone gasket sealer around the mating surface by hand, etc, etc.
  10. I should add that if it does work with music from the SD card then it is likely the APIM is going south. It does say Navigation in the upper right correct?
  11. The next step would be to get an SD card you can put files on and put music on that and see if it plays those.
  12. Does it read music in the USB ports? Your media hub could be bad or the APIM could be bad.
  13. Nate will tell you everything you need to know. Self installation except for fob functions which must be done with IDS.
  14. SYNC Connect is not available until 2019 on the Edges. You need to have Smartlink installed and yes it works on 18s. https://www.fairwayfordparts.net/oem-parts/ford-ford-pass-smartlink-start-from-your-vehicle-from-your-phone-vhl3z14f642a Nate will answer all your questions.
  15. Personally think they may be double dipping on the key programming since that is part of the replacement anyway. Process is basically this: Replace the instrument cluster with new one then: NOTE: If a new IC is installed, download the configuration from the scan tool into the new IC . For additional information, refer to Programmable Module Installation (PMI) in Section 418-01. NOTE: If a new IC is installed, the IC and the PCM require a parameter reset to allow the IC and the PCM to recognize each other. Failure to carry out the parameter reset to the IC and the PCM may result in a no start condition. NOTE: The vehicle's integrated keys (or standardPassive Anti-Theft System (PATS) keys) must be programmed to the new IC . Carry out the parameter reset and key programming procedure. For additional information, refer to Section 419-01B. Clear all IC and PCM DTCs. Also they likely have to order the cluster with the correct mileage as well.
  16. In some of the affected vehicles, wire terminal plating in a steering wheel connector may wear away and cause a poor connection between the steering wheel and the steering column control module. This condition may cause the adaptive steering feature to become disabled and a message to display in the instrument cluster that indicates “Adaptive Steering Fault – Service Required.” In some cases, the steering wheel may not appear straight while the vehicle is driving straight. If the adaptive steering becomes disabled, the steering system, including the power assist, remains fully functional.
  17. Ford doesn't publish a change log for calibration updates which is unfortunate. An update doesn't mean something was corrupted though. It could mean they identified a minor issue (since no TSB out), or they added or deleted something from the programming, etc. Maybe a bad thing, but I make the assumption if a change was made, it was made for the better and should be updated.
  18. I just pulled an October build ST vin that is still sitting on a dealer lot. Only two TSBs: TSB 18-2378 - Effective Dec 17 2018 2015-2019 Edge/2016-2018 MKX/2019 Nautilus - Fuel Slosh Noise - All Wheel Drive (AWD) TSB 18-2361 - Effective Dec 4 2018 2013-2019 Various Vehicles - Seat Pan Looseness, Lateral Movement, Or Clunk/Thump Noise on Turns My guess is the dealer just decided to see if there was a calibration update for the PCM which there probably was and they said try this.
  19. The dealer updated the PCM software. Not a surprise. Transmission learning is also reset when this happens. I would ask for the specific TSB #. I don't see one for updating the PCM. Ford may have told them just to update the PCM calibration/software or they figured they would try it on there own.
  20. Is the TSB # referenced? I see nothing that would relate to the 19 Edge ST.
  21. If your warranty is expired, warranty won't cover it. But there may be good news. Just today Ford released a recall for certain 16 Edge steering wheels. Service action 19B04. To see if your vehicle falls under that go to https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/maintenance/recalls.html If 19B04 comes up they will replace your steering wheel at no charge.
  22. Thanks but I am looking for the actual Ford service bulletin which would detail what the corrective repair is.
  23. It would be nice to see a pic of the actual condensation in the OPs lights. Any chance of that?
  24. I may have misunderstood your post. The pic is not your vehicle?
