  1. You probably have an option in the cluster for auto engine off or engine auto off... This is not the start/stop technology you are thinking of.
  2. The end user can program the 11-14s via the key on/off method however 15+ changed and IDS is required. To clarify, this pertains the wireless keypad: https://accessories.ford.com/electronics/keyless-entry/actuator-asy.html
  3. The easiest option is the add the wireless keypad however it will need to be programmed by a dealer or someone with dealer software. It may be possible to add the hardwired OEM keypad however the wireless one would be the simpler of the two.
  4. The dealer nor Ford can offer any fix other than putting the fob in the pocket for no signal situations. It should work just fine then. From the 16 F-150 owner manual and all manuals have similar entries (please note this is in the key fob section): GENERAL INFORMATION ON RADIO FREQUENCIES This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and with Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
  5. Ford identifies 75w-140 as rear axle fluid. I wouldn't get excited about that. From the service manual for the PTU... Motorcraft® SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant XY-75W140-QL (US); CXY-75W140-1L (Canada)
  6. I did change the PTU fluid today. Pretty simple with the right tools and plenty of room to use the Amsoil EZ-Pack. The old fluid ran out pretty freely and didn't have the strong offensive odor most seem to say it has. I am guessing it was still in good condition rather than being burned up. While I had it up on the quickjack lift I put on the winter wheels and changed the engine oil/filter. Very pleased with how easy the PTU is to access on the 16 Edge Sport.
  7. I am going to be changing out the PTU fluid on my 16 Sport this coming month. The service manual makes it seem pretty simple and from the above info it sounds like it. Question though....I am getting the Amsoil 75w-140 in the EZ-Pack....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU7_Mrpf9A8 For those that have done it, is there enough room to use it like the video shows or will I still need a pump? Just want to make sure I have everything I need. Thanks Jason
  8. Actually it is possible to do any one of the three: add the line in, add OEM Sirius or convert to SYNC3. All require reprogramming of the vehicle and varying hardware additions or replacements.
  9. That is odd. My DL of it the V3.10 upgrade has 3.08 15128 listed in it.
  10. What is your current version of MFT software. If it is too old it does require the dealer to do it. It would have to be pretty old though.
  11. He is probably talking about trying to lock the fob in the car with it running. Use the keypad on the exterior to lock it.
  12. So the dealer did the CPO inspection on it and missed the leaking PTU? If that is the case I would question their ability to properly certify a vehicle. One would wonder what else the missed or didn't check?
  13. SOS Post-Crash Alert System™ The SOS Post-Crash Alert System™ is controlled by the BCM, but initiated by the RCM. When a deployment or fuel cutoff event occurs, the RCM sends a message on the HS-CAN2 (via the GWM) to the BCM. The BCM flashes the turn signal lamps and sounds the horn (except when 911 Assist™ is active) until it is turned off. The system can be turned off 10 seconds after a crash event by pressing the hazard switch. The BCM also unlocks the doors and illuminates the courtesy lamps after a crash event.
  14. From the owner's manual: Door Lock Switch Inhibitor When you electronically lock your vehicle, the power door lock switch no longer operates after 20 seconds. You must unlock your vehicle with the remote control or keyless keypad, or switch the ignition on, to restore function to these switches. You can switch this feature on or off in the information display. See General Information (page 103).
  15. I doubt they will have it by then. It hasn't even been built yet. In fact when I checked the other day nothing above vin 350 or so had been done.
  16. Sirius is doing there free access once again so I wonder if this has anything to do with issues???
  17. Check your subscription status in the SYNC3/Sirius system. If it says unsubscribed and you were supposed to be under the free 5 year plan contact Sirius and expect a long, polite argument with them. That's what I had to do when they inadvertently killed mine.
  18. As far as automated washes go, I would only ever use a touch-less one. Too many horror stories of damage done by non-touch-less. Perhaps that's what the salesman was getting at. Just to clarify this is just my opinion.
  19. I decided to go in and create an IDS session using a 2018 Edge Titanium. There is no option in IDS to directly change the autolock feature. So I went back to a session with my 16 Edge Sport and the settings are there in IDS. So it seems the dealer has no direct way to change it on an 18.
  20. SSM 45578 - 2015-2016 Edge and 2016 MKX - Procedure To Disable Autolocks Some 2015-2016 Edge and 2016 MKX customers may request to have the autolocks disabled. The autolocks are not a customer configurable feature. If a customer request to have the autolocks disabled, use IDS version 98.04 or higher to disable the autolocks. Enter Module Programming - Programmable Parameters - Power Door Locks - Auto Lock 1-5 - Enable/Disable. To disable the autolocks, Auto Lock 1 through Auto Lock 5 all need to be disabled prior to pressing the tick mark. Disabling the autolocks at the request of the customer cannot be claimed as a warrantable repair. Section 501-14 of the online Workshop Manual is being updated to provide direction on disabling the autolock feature. Not sure if it applies to 17 and 18...but the dealer can easily check when hooked up to a vehicle. BTW...Ford is more concerned with keeping bad people out of your vehicle than allowing authorized or emergency services people in your car. I'd rather not allow a carjacker to jump in the passenger seat when I am stopped at a stop light or when I pull into a gas station or store, etc.
  21. You are talking about Sync Connect which is separate hardware that works in conjunction with the Ford Pass app. This was not available on any Edge until 2019.
  22. They are starting to put them in newer vehicles, just not the Edge yet.
  23. The lower vertical white LEDs are called auxiliary parking lamps and are not OEM DRLs. For vehicles with halogen headlamps, the DRL system operates the low beam headlamps at a reduced intensity. When enabling the DRL using a scan tool, two modes of operation can be selected. The low beam headlamps will illuminate at a reduced intensity (halogen headlamps) or the front turn lamps will illuminate continuously (not flashing) at full intensity. For vehicles with High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps, the DRL system continuously (not flashing) illuminates the front turn lamps at full intensity. When enabling the DRL using a scan tool, only one mode of operation should be selected. The front turn lamps will illuminate continuously (not flashing) at full intensity. Those are the factory choices (programmable, no additional hardware). As mentioned above there are aftermarket kits that can turn the auxiliary parking lamps into pseudo DRL.
