  1. SYNC3 version 3.0 is the latest there is for a 16. Version 3.2 and above is only for 19 Edge and up. Ford will never officially release 3.2 or above for any 16-18 Edge. For the OP, if you have an extended warranty take it in and get it checked. They likely will replace the APIM. If you don't have a warranty you are probably going to have to get the APIM replaced on your own.
  2. Do your usb ports function? Try a USB with some music on it. Your media bay could be bad.
  3. Please give us as much detail as to the process you went through starting with downloading the update. While it is tedious to give a blow by blow description of the process, the more info provided will get a better result from people here being able to help.
  4. Liftgate struts don't last forever. That's a fact of life and vehicles. Doesn't matter if its a $100,000 vehicle or how many miles are on it. I don't think you will get any sympathy here but perhaps you feel better having vented.
  5. Your 2018 Edge only goes to a software version of 3.0. By SYNC3.3 I am guessing you mean SYNC3 version 3.0. You using "3.3" is going to confuse people thinking that Ford has an update out for the now "old" version of SYNC3 allowing it use the software that the "new" release of SYNC3 uses. This is not the case. Just an FYI thing. Guessing that might be why @JoeVic was questioning what you started out at.
  6. I am going to relate a little bit of my experience with summer tires in winter. I had a 13 Taurus SHO that I bought new in January of 2013. It had the performance package and came with summer tires with the same warning about temp. It was my first experience with summer tires and I questioned the salesman about it. I am in Wisconsin...snow cold etc in January. The salesman said "oh they will be just fine, we have sold cars with summer tires and no one has ever complained about using them in winter." I could tell from the ride the tires were "hard" in the cold weather, def less traction than I thought they would have. I didn't find out just how unsafe they are in winter until a few days later when it snowed. The SHO was AWD but making a turn in fresh snow was like driving on an ice skating rink. ZERO traction....slip and slide all over. Fortunately I was being careful since I didn't know exactly what to expect. Needless to say, I ordered a winter wheel package on line immediately and swapped the wheels over with a dedicated wheel winter set up. Night and day difference. That car was a beast in the snow then. Of course where you live and your exact weather will dictate what you do but my recommendation is to have a second set of wheels for winter use if you have any chance of getting snow and driving in it. Second to that would be getting the tires swapped out to all season. Don't risk your well being and others on the road by using summer rated tires in weather they are not designed for.
  7. And the heated steering wheel should heat to a temperature of approximately 28-34°C (82-94°F). If it isn't, then there is an issue.
  8. Sorry, but the dealer doesn't have tools to adjust the HSW temperature. His 18 Sport and 19 Titanium even have different HSW systems. The 18 Sport doesn't have a heated steering wheel module. Its all part of the adaptive steering wheel module. Any dealer that uses unauthorized software such as the one you mentioned puts themselves in the position of being in the dog house with Ford. Dealers should only be using licensed Ford software known as IDS and FDRS. The direct options available to be changed are limited and last I checked steering wheel temp is not an option. Ford service centers are having to deal with people making changes they shouldn't be with unauthorized software and when something doesn't work right anymore, getting warranty work done that should have never been warranty work to begin with. Ford even had to put out a special notice to dealers about SYNC3 issues being caused by unauthorized changes. Ford is catching on.
  9. The first year for SYNC Connect on the Ford Edge was 2019. There is currently no official Ford add on for cellular based remote start for your 18 Edge. If you find information pertaining to SmartLink it has been discontinued and is NLA.
  10. Definitely correct for the seats. In fact the 16's had an update that made it do this as well.
  11. The 16-18 Edge max out currently at 3.0, 3.2 and above is for the 19+ Edge only.
  12. One of the first thing the map update instructions should say is that you system has to be running version 3.0 It is a requirement.
  13. If you bought it from a Ford dealer, take it back and have them update it. That should have been done prior to the sale (my opinion and many others I am sure). They should do it as a courtesy.
  14. A 2011 VIN and SYNC3 ESN will be an automatic fail. The map updates are tied to the ESN and the VIN that ESN is registered to in OASIS. Since a 2011 never came with SYNC3 its simply not possible to have that match in OASIS.
  15. I am a little confused...you have a 2011 and are trying to use SYNC3 map updates?
  16. My request only applied to 2019 model years....it appears there may be an issue with it displaying the correct map version even though the upgrade to 18 was successful.
  17. Curious if anyone with a 19 has completed the map update yet and is it reporting 1-18 maps in the "about" page of general settings.
  18. Map updates are out....you can download them or have them sent to you via usb. The site lists the options: https://syncnavigation.com/ford/home Appears 16/17s have to pay but 18s and 19s are free for downloading. Some vehicles may not be available yet.
  19. The same message was up months ago and said July 2019...that came an went...they changed it to Sept. now. I don't have much faith.
  20. Glad to see the redline fixed...the option that you say is in the latest Edge firmware....that Icon is for lane centering isn't it. Had nothing but issues on the interstates with mine when I tried that, 2 lane roads were fine. If that is what it is, the 17 Edge doesn't have that option. What firmware is the cluster running? I finally opted to run 18 MKX to keep it as close to the Edge model as possible. I had it tweaked back to Ford colors along with adding a pic of my Electric Spice Edge in the middle during startup. BTW glad to see someone else doing this with their Edge now. It really is a nice upgrade.
