  1. I have OASIS access every so often so I was able to determine what software to use and can build the installation file.
  2. Does it successfully remote start? Assuming it has that option.
  3. If you still end up needing it rolled back to 3.3, I have the files and can do a custom installation package.
  4. Honestly since the post originated at the end of July...I hope he has it fixed by now.
  5. The map update installs in segments rebooting automatically during the process. Unless you got the final static pop up saying it was done, you pulled the USB early and a proper install was not completed.
  6. The only "hard" button for climate is max defrost. If the SYNC systems freezes, fails to boot, etc., looks like no back up climate control....that is going to be an issue. That will put a customers vehicle out of service should a "Fatal" sync issue occur.
  7. 35 minutes...you sure it completed the entire update (installation complete message came up and stayed there without a reboot)?
  8. I don't think its dumb. Ford provides the authorized files specific for your vehicle from their own website by VIN. Pulling files from any other site is not authorized by Ford for use in your vehicle and using them is entirely at your own risk and if you render your system useless Ford would have no obligation to correct it warranty. The file names thenselves are different between the 4" and 8". A software version and build date doesn't determine the file name. With some research you can determine what files were likely in your vehicle for version 3.3, then find them and install them. Unauthorized changes can cause issues for dealers and potential future owners. I just dealt with a person that needed a replacement APIM for their 17 F150 that was purchased used. While the APIM was bad (failed BT, lagging nav etc.), programming the replacement resulted in an odd display and it would not function properly. Ends up the previous owner enabled the GT display which isn't supported in version 3.0 19205. The programming data had been "updated" on the Ford build server and was pulling non-supported settings into the APIM via the official programming process. Ford is aware people are doing stuff like this and will not cover these issues under warranty. I was able to correct this but most dealers wouldn't have the knowledge to do this and have to contact Ford who then has to have someone manually go into the vehicle build file and correct the modified programming.
  9. Install it, that is the update meant for your vehicle. Your vehicle has what Ford refers to as SYNC3 Lite.
  10. Use the proper update supplied by Ford through the Ford SYNC update site.
  11. I had tires replaced at Firestone once on a Chrysler. They charged for new valve stems, $2 each. I was like I don't think they had the right valve stems Chrysler TPMS on hand and of course I looked at the wheels and definitely not new ones on there. They removed the $8 charge for them when I pointed it out. Imagine how many customers don't catch this. Nothing like a little extra charge for something not replaced. It should be noted that some TPMS units do have valve stems that can be replaced as part of a service kit and still maintain the original TPMS unit.
  12. @NoeYou can download the latest version here: https://help.ford.com/update-sync/ You won't get the available firmware update that is likely available for the system this however...that would be done in conjunction with the software if the dealer did it. Your dealer is fully capable of updating things. Sounds like they are lazy or just not knowledgeable.
  13. It shouldn't be laggy, perhaps try a master reset and see if that helps.
  14. I had remote access on my 13 Taurus early on it's life and have documentation published by Ford Sept 2013 showing remote access being available.
  15. Are you referring to SYNC Connect? If so SYNC Connect and Remote Access are two completely different systems. Remote Access is defunct as of the end of the year due to the backbone 3G service being shut down. To add the Remote Access RMU has a LISAU200 modem embedded in it and if you look up the specs it only supports up to 3G. I suspect advertising of 3G or 4G area fell back on that 4G areas also provided 3G.
  16. Ford has no solution that would fit your vehicle. It was rumored they were coming out with a replacement for SmartLink (which they quickly discontinued) but no one that I know has seen a replacement. You will have to go aftermarket (Viper, etc)
  17. Well your service manager is a tad wrong there...IT IS A RECALL. Ford just doesn't have parts to remedy it yet. Owner notification won't happen until mid September if I remember correctly (info from Ford OASIS which matches original post).
  18. You can dl updates without an account by using: https://help.ford.com/update-sync/
  19. Likely it will need to be programmed for your vehicle and then you will have to call up Sirius if you have a subscription and talk to someone competent that can change your ESN.
  20. @zog010@yahoo.com Then do a screen shot of the files in the SYNCMYRIDE folder for your map update. You have the correct 19 mapping files. That 18005 is meaningless to the install as far as the end user is concerned.
  21. @zog010@yahoo.com The first thing you need to do is upgrade to latest SYNC update for your vehicle. Get that done first. It should be 3.4 20136 I believe. After that is done let us know. https://help.ford.com/update-sync/usb/
  22. Don't use the cyanlabs!! You have a legit APIM that can be upgraded legitimately. You are just doing something wrong.
  23. My reply was for the OP's information. OP make sure you have the license file in the correct SYNCMYRIDE directory as well.
  24. It is a known issue that Version 3.3 does not reflect the map update after being done. You must first upgrade to version 3.4 and then install the mapping. If you installed the mapping before upgrading to 3.4 you can reinstall the mapping again after upgrading to version 3.4.
