Suspension modifications on gen 2
onyxbfly replied to Gmandude's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
Welcome to the forum! I did not install the shocks and struts yet. From personal experience with other rides, Bilstein products meet, and exceed OEM specifications. I do not foresee any reason for these not to do the same. -
Welcome to the forum! You hit the ground running, and did not waste any time modding! I like the idea of your mods. I can see how having changing every interior bulb to LED would be beneficial in some circumstances. Trying to find your phone, traffic stops etc. I agree with Omar. I have my interior lights switched off because, I do not want everyone to see what's inside when I enter and exit my ride. Nothing illegal about it. Simply comes down to protecting whats yours. You will find us to be a pretty much relaxed group. Just because someone doesn't agree with you, does not mean that they're trolling you.

Suspension modifications on gen 2

I'm glad Shock Warehouse came through for you. Me not so much. I have had a frustrating experience with them. I paid a lil more with Summit but everything arrived within a week or so of placing my order. Despite the website clearly saying that the fronts were out of stock and my order would be delayed etc -
Congrats and welcome to the forum! If you're the original owner you would be best served by changing your oil ASAP. This way you can rid your self of any break in debris. You may also want to consider a doing a drain and fill on the transmission for the very same reason as well.

According to few different Ford Online parts stores the edge sport throttle body is compatible from 2015-2019. In all actuality it may look that way on the surface until you do a lil digging and see that some things have change from 2018.5+ I'd suggest calling your favorite Ford parts supplier and inquiring. 9/10 times they will tell you if its compatible or if something has changed. They may ask for your vin. If it's any point of reference Ford Racing 70mm throttle body is compatible from 2015-2017 suggesting that something may have indeed changed between MY.

LIncoln MKX to Ford Edge Instrument Cluster Swap
onyxbfly replied to onyxbfly's topic in Accessories & Modifications
To be honest with you, I'm not sure. I know that sometimes my mirrors will not dip down in reverse or my remote start will not work. I'll disconnect the negative terminal for ten min or so, and everything will be right as rain.- 110 replies

That's odd. Reach out to Dan, he will sort you out. Try disconnecting the negative battery cable for 10-15 minutes. Usually that helps to reset/ sort out lil issues etc.- 110 replies

LIncoln MKX to Ford Edge Instrument Cluster Swap

I see what you did there. I asked for a custom knife for my birthday. She said absolutely not! I asked why..... she said not only do I have enough but I have a few sets! I said you only have one pair of feet but that didn't stop you from buying two pairs of shoes at the mall...... She looked at me blankly and said if I'm going to ruin cutlery by using it as a tool, she will gladly get me a set of Ginsu knives.... I told her that I never heard of them, let me google them. I told her that they were advertised in the 70's and she must be really have a great memory for being so old..... You can see the outline of body etched into the wall from the heat vision......- 110 replies

Oil filter K&N PS-7037 vs HP-7037 vs Motorcraft FL-2062
onyxbfly replied to 1004ron's topic in 2.7L EcoBoost
You seem me to be meticulous with your maintenance. If you were going to change the oil under/ less than the suggested intervals than I'd say go with the regular filter. If you're going to go with regular intervals then I'd suggest the the performance filter. Another thing to factor in is the type of commute. Is it all highway? Is it a mix? Is it stop and go? All that to say, I would go with the performance filter for a daily commuter. More pleats, better filtration, etc -

I like the Asanti rims! They have been on my radar for while now! Which particular rim did you go with? My favorite wheel has always been the Alpina turbine wheels. That look always speaks to me. Aggressive yet classy! If I did go with 22s I would need a 40 series tire. I need to see what that looks like before going forward. I don't want it to look lifted while being lowered if that makes sense? Currently running 275/40/21 and you can actually feel the difference with the wider tire. I'd love to go 285 but alas the largest you can go on the stock rim is 275. I'm sure there is someone who manged to get 285 on 9" rim but I really do not care for the super stretched look at all! Which BBK did you go with? Thanks for discussing the differences and benefits between tire sizes. You are right the 3.0 can be purchased for a similar price as the custom turbos and FMIC with some judicious shopping/ haggling. If you want to run with the big dogs you can't pee like a puppy!

Thank you for sharing your results. I believe you are the first person to install them. How are the roads where you live? I'm sure my roads are second to Detroit. How is the ride quality on bumpy roads etc.? I ask cause, I have all of the suspension mods except for the Center Cross X Bars, & 2 Small Link Bars. I was fully aware of how the comfort would be sacrificed due to the tighter suspension. I wouldn't mind it being tighter, but I'm sure my lady would have something to say about it. Although she prefers to drive my edge opposed to her edge hahah The mods I have done have definitely eliminated an insane amount of body roll. Yet I would be hesitant to say it feels like an Audi. She's close and I'm sure there is room for improvement. I'll have to do more research on them. Perhaps the center cross x bars are the secret ingredient that I am missing. Did you have any negative experiences with them? How was the install. I haven't been under the edge since the last oil change, but I don't recall seeing mounting points for the them. Did you have to fabricate something in order to mount them? What are the specs on the wheels and BBK? I have the stock 21" wheels. I've been on the fence for a while now between going with 20" or 22" But I definitely want gloss black. I like the spoke design of your wheels. I agree engine mods can add up real quick. I'm really interested in the engine swap.

I can not comprehend why they would say something like you waited to long to tune the vehicle after purchasing it. Unless you made changes to your build after they made their custom one off tune for you. Then I can see how that is applicable. Any change made after the tune and you did not inform them to receive a new tune to compensate for the change is not on them. It took me a week to tune my car after receiving my tuner. I left my laptop at work and we were closed for Christmas break. I could have gotten it, but I was on break and did not want to sacrifice my time with family and friends in order to do so.

To be honest I did have two DTCs prior to being tuned...... 1 DTC was due to calibration/ firmware of my parking control module. 2 DTC was due to brake light attachment for tow bar. None of them had any impact on their tune. Ironically enough they even mentioned that to me when we were discussing my engine failure. When I asked how would these DTC impact their tune they really did not have an answer nor explanation. The reason why LMS can not enable the current gear status is because they use their own tuner and their science methodology with tuning. They may or may not have access to all of the parameters that HPTuners does. Lets say that they do. I find it hard to believe that they do not but I digress. That would require them to rewrite their tune and or make a one off adjustment despite other people requesting that feature in the past. That seems like something they are unwilling to do. Just like not developing a V3 tune for 89. They feel as if they are beyond reproach and that they are the best. They feel that they got all that they could out of the edge and there is no need to continue developing for it. I understand their perspective. You get the best performance/ most HP when using 93 why tune for anything less than whats they best. You're not the first and definitely will not be the last to want a better 89 tune.
