  1. You said you have a used SYNC3. Is it the just the screen, or screen and APIM? At the very minimum your SYNC 3 screen should have powered up. Since you said that the screen is black and will not power on and FORScan indicates that the APIM is not detected, it really looks like you may have a dead screen. My first suggestion would be to hook up your SYNC3 screen, and try resetting it.
  2. Colin and Jim got some goodness coming our way.
  3. Any update with your Bilstein project? IIRC you said it would be a while or ~10k miles. I figure with y'all chasing comets, those miles would be short work. Looking forward to another JnC Performance spa day!
  4. I'm picking up what you're putting down. Hopefully the op chimes in and he can get some help from the forum and he can help guide his dealership in the right direction.
  5. It really should not matter what year the OP's ST is! There are only two years to choose from. Ford has been dealing with the Edge sport oil pan debacle since 2015. 6 years later and they're still having problems. To add insult to injury MY18+ oil pan requires a gasket. Not bashing Ford. I love my edge. Just not a Ford apologist.
  6. Unfortunately Not. I really don't understand why/ how the dealer failed to explain that to you.
  7. You have a SEL. Your light bar will not light up because its not designed too. The only edge with the light bar is the Titanium and the Sport model.
  8. I upgraded my lady's 2013 Edge SEL MFT/ SYNC 2 APIM etc to SYNC 3.4 and everything works, climate control, entertainment, navigation etc works just like it does with SYNC2 .
  9. I thought about that as well, then again I thought to myself that the edge IPC has been the same since 2011. The only difference with the ST IPC is the turbo gauge. Ultimately I agree with you. I do not think the 2015+ MKX/ Explorer Platinum IPC is compatible with the 2011-2014MY.
  10. Everything works as intended with the exception of the AC/ climate controls. For whatever reason that option is simply not available on the Lincoln MKX cluster. As an alternative the explorer platinum IPC will also fit with one of @TXFRDOwner lenses/ mask. I do not know if the explorer platinum IPC will works with AC/ climate controls. You could drop @jmr061 a line and inquire with him. He is the OG when it comes to retrofitting IPC in the edge.
  11. You may have thought there were over seas because of the name Livernois Motor Sport. I have a 17' Edge Sport (2.7 V6) . Shes currently tuned via BCB. I'm not into brand bashing. LMS did not work for me. It worked great when it did. Unfortunately It did not work for me, more times than it did. I do acknowledge that I am the unicorn and LMS works great for damn near 95% of those that use it. After various diagnostic attempts etc, I will say that they did right by me, and gave me a full refund when requested.
  12. In my neck of the woods, Titanium and Sport model are damn near neck and neck in terms of price. Personally I like to get the most bang with my buck and try to think what if i trade her in the future etc. I'd aim for the sport trim.
  13. You brought a vehicle with unknown service record with 135K miles....... What maintenance did you to it in the 5 weeks that you had it prior to dying? Your friend is a mechanic.... Did he pull any codes? I'm far from a mechanic but I carry two different OBD readers with me. I know one shouldn't assume but most mechanics I know carry some form of diagnostic equipment with them. OBD readers fits in your pocket.....Wasn't there some kinda warranty or anything..... You purchased it at your favorite dealership...What makes it your favorite? Assuming you purchased more than one car there they should treat you a lil better....... I guess from your tone and the fact that they want to milk you for a new engine means that you really are their favorite customer.......... Was I happy when the stealership kept my truck 2 weeks for a trunk latch/ motor debacle? Absolutely not. They fixed my edge and I kept it moving.....We've all had our fair share of ups and downs with vehicles etc.......But for the majority of us we're relatively happy with OUR FORDS!! BTW you will not win nor garner any sympathy from this Ford Edge Forum. I suggest you go back to driving an appliance excuse me Toyota. least we forget that Toyota have had their fair share of problems. Good Luck. Hope they sort you out!
  14. The catch can will help prevent build up! A ravioli can not so much......
  15. The F150 does.... the edg sport not so much. TBH I'm not sure if the ST does or does not.
  16. Both engines suffer from the same ailment. But since the pick ups is Ford's bread and butter they rectified the issue...edge not so much. Or rather as they learn from their mistakes they made changes during the MY production cycle. For example the plastic oil pan debacle....Ford rectified it for the F150 and incorporated the oil pan change into the edge 2018+MY.
  17. Ford addressed the issue in their 2018-2019 F150s. Possibly the 2017s. The edge engine has not change from 2015. The difference between the Sport and the ST is the tune.
  18. He installed the USB hub in the factory location. They changed the placement for the hub in the 1'5-'18MY edge. The location you are referring to within the arm rest/ center console is the factory location for the '11-'14MY edge.
  19. That makes total sense. I stand corrected. I always forget that that SYNC is available without navigation. @Snoking Apologies for the confusion.
