You're pretty handy. You can do the 4" to 8" SYNC3 conversion if you decide to go that route! Reach out to @TXFRDOwner and see what he can do for you for a kit. I purchased 3 SYNC 3 conversion kits from him and they work as if they were originally installed in the factory! Just for reference you can take a look at the link below and see whats involved. https://www.4dtech.com/15-18-ford-mustang-4-to-8-touchscreen-conversion-w-sync-3/

Is it a mistake to purchase OEM size tires (22)?
onyxbfly replied to Cedarburger's topic in Wheels & Tires
Nope not at all. Some people like to keep their vehicles stock and others like to mod them. 22" tires have come down in price tremendously since their inception. I would throw some Toyos Proxes III on her and keep it moving! Playing devils advocate. If you want to maximize the sport in your sport going down to 20s will reduce unsprung wheels weight and she will handle better. All in all she's yours! She's in beautiful shape! The decision to go with OEM 22 or aftermarket 20's is entirely yours. There is no right or wrong answer. IMHO you are doing right by her! -
Ford Edge 2nd Front Upper Strut Tower Bar Brace
onyxbfly replied to HockeyShot39's topic in Classifieds
The easiest way to voice your displeasure with a company is to vote with your wallet and not patronize them. We both know in the grand scheme of things Ford doesn't care if you or me or everyone on this forum were to get out of their edges due to whatever problem they may have. After all its the number one selling CUV in the country. Regardless if one buys it new, or they buy it used. But the key point is that they will not get any more of your money. I salute you. May your next vehicle provide you the comfort, safety, and reliability that you expected, and many of us receive from our edges. -
If its a want and not a need, you may want to wait for the true EV Mustang (true as in coupe not Mach E) to become available. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/12/02/ford-mustang-electric-ev-powertrain/

Ford Edge 2nd Front Upper Strut Tower Bar Brace
onyxbfly replied to HockeyShot39's topic in Classifieds
The upper strut tower brace for 2011-2018 Ford Edge can be purchased from Carfield Enterprise. You can reach them via FB @: Carfield Enterprise Or one can buy it directly from them via eBay. 2011-2019 Upper Front Tower Brace eBay Carfield Enterprise -
Your welcome! Full fluid flush is a great start to ensuring a future of longevity and reliability. Unfortunately I am not aware of PTU cooler for any Edge apart from the 19' MY. I wont broach the topic of whether or not its actually a design flaw. According to Ford they say the fluid is lifetime use. I'd suggest Changing it every year or every two years based on driving style and how many miles. People generally change it every 15-25k. Search the forum to research adding a drain hole as your MY does not have one. Adding a drain hole makes changing the fluid relatively painless.

Congrats and welcome to the forum. May your Edge last you as long if not longer than your Taurus!

If you call and simply ask if they will give you the price as a courtesy, they will gladly extend the sale price for you.

Ford Edge 2nd Front Upper Strut Tower Bar Brace
onyxbfly replied to HockeyShot39's topic in Classifieds
I have the same strut tower bar. It is manufactured by Carfield Enterprise and can be purchased from eBay. I have a about 4-5K on my bar. It tightens up the front end. It greatly reduces the flex in turns. There is a night and day difference in handling. @Xtra @Special_K @snmjim Have the same bar. Maybe they will chime in. -
Congrats and welcome to the forum! She's super clean with low miles. Change the PTU and coolant fluid post haste! She will provide you years of service!

I see how the machined lips blends in better. I can certainly see your desire to go in that direction. I'm totally digging the red now!

Great pics, thanks for sharing them with us! The red trim on the wheels gives it a subtle yet noticeable pop!

75W-140 is for your PTU. Redline offers 75W-90 for your differential. 75W-90 is a suitable alternative for 80W-90. https://www.redlineoil.com/75w90-gl-5-gear-oil

2011 Edge Sync 2 to 3 upgrade. Comments?
onyxbfly replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Did my brothers and my lady's, and they're quite pleased with it! -
There are some things I take tons of pics of and some I take none. Unfortunately I do not have any before and after pics. that being said I can say that you can easily see the difference. They are easily better than OEM bulbs! Where they really shine is when I use the high beams on the back roads etc.

Welcome to the forum! Provided you do your own labor, the replacement APIM will cost anywhere between $50-$200. Prices seemed to be based o model year. The higher the price the later the model year. I've seen some 2015 APIM go for $95-+ As the focus is on saving monies you might be tempted to get one from an 2011 etc. The only downside to that is that you may potentially find yourself in the same spot. Mind you some 2015s are failing as well. In theory a 2015 should last longer than say a 2011. Here is an excellent video that you can follow to use as a guide on how to swap out the APIM: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=aFCyPGK1cMU&feature=emb_logo For FORscan you need an adapter and a windows laptop. One of the highest recommended ones available is OBDLink-Bluetooth-Professional-Grade-Diagnostic-Performance There are cheaper options available. I linked the one that I personally use and many other members as well. You can do you research and purchase the one you feel comfortable with. Working with FORscan can seem challenging, but if you search the forum you will find a post or two and spreadsheet or three that will have all the info you need. OR....... If you just want to be done with and focus your energies elsewhere you can go to https://www.flvpmods.com/ or https://sync3programming.com/Sync-3-APIM-Programming-for-FORScan-via-Email-by-DanMc85-p112322808 They can program your new APIM and email you a file to install via FORscan and then you're done. HTH Happy Holidays!

Update Your Gen2 Edge To The Latest Sync Version
onyxbfly replied to Gadgetjq's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Correct! Members who have a 2019+ will eventually have access to 3.4 via conventional upgrades etc. SYNC3 is 2016 + in NA, Can't speak for the rest of the planet. 2015 is MFT2, or as some like to say SYNC2.- 43 replies
