  1. Would this kit work on a 3.5L EcoBoost engine (2015 SHO)? Coils specifically. I'm sure the plugs are the wrong temp, and no intake removal gasket is needed on those.
  2. Just FYI, there are companies that repair the ABS modules too. Eventually there are no new ones left, so you have to get them rebuilt if you drive something that's relatively older.
  3. No, Ford won't help. It's an 11 year old used car, why would they? You can treat it with a rust converter, then spray it with rust inhibitors. You could also replace the door with one from a junkyard (although I think you won't find a nice one in that color- no way), or if you want to do it right, cut out the rust and weld in new and re-paint. I gotta think only the spray can treatments are worth it at this point in it's life. Now, 10 years ago, it'd have been nice if someone dumped a can of Amsoil HDMP or some Boeshield down in the doors, but it's too late for that now.
  4. You guys with 19s or late 18s, still have the plastic pan? Ford went back to an aluminum pan on the late 2018 and 2019 3.5L Ecoboost engines after a bunch of leakage issues.
  5. It was a pointless feature anyways. If there's anything wrong that needs to be addressed, the check engine light comes on. It's not like it says "your brake pads are now at 1.6 mm thickness and your air filter has a 2 in-hg restriction". That would be a useful vehicle health report. Since the car can't determine any of that or anything remotely close- again, total worthless feature.
  6. So far so good with ours. They did replace the tank, but no issues or MILs after a decent amount of driving it yesterday. Need to clean the inside of the windshield now, it's all nasty form them working on the passenger airbag. Had a bad rear wheel bearing too (under 60K miles on it). The wanted $477 to replace it. I said no thanks, and just paid the $100 to diagnose it. Two SKF bearings off Ebay were only $140 shipped. Should be pretty easy install given it's a 2WD and I have plenty of tools.
  7. I saw a 2.5 MPG increase in my Taurus SHO when one faulty wheel bearing was replaced. I drive a easy, constant speed highway commute everyday, and it was 20.5 MPG before and 23 MPG after. Many tanks of fuel confirm both the before and after MPG change. So a bearing on the way out could eat a MPG or so before you start hearing it. Have a couple doing it (or more) and you could lose a few MPG without hearing a bad bearing yet. Just to show how bad it can get with the bearings- prior to purchasing the Taurus I made the seller take it to the dealer to address road noise I heard on the test drive. They put four new tires and two front wheel bearings in. Once I got it, it still made a little noise and Ford replaced the right rear bearing as I described above (so yes, 3 of 4 bearings replaced at less than 40K miles- pathetic). Anyways, when I got the car from the previous owner, the trip OD and associated avg fuel economy had not been reset for the last 6K miles. They had averaged less than 16 MPG with three bad wheel bearings (with who knows what commute, but they lived out in a rural area so it was probably mostly highway speeds). I now average over 23 MPG.
  8. I'd throw a new booster in here while you are at it. Ford part is only $100.
  9. Our 2010 is in for the tank and airbag inflator recalls today. Asked them to check for a noisy wheel bearing too.
  10. Both correct. I would not run hubcentric wheels without the correct adapter though, even though you can.
  11. It's a war people. The end goal is not tariffs. The end goal is for the US to have fair trade with it's trading partners. We'v been taken advantage of by everyone for decades and that shit is over. Everyone else in the world has been doing everything in their power to protect their country's economies and their industries- but now it's a big problem when the US finally says enough of this BS and does the same? It's going to take some short term pain for long term gains. The only real negotiating tactic is tariffs. Asking nicely WILL NOT get it done. Did you know China ALREADY had a 25% tariff on Lincoln vehicles prior to any new tariffs? Didn't seem to bother anyone then, well, except for Trump who thinks that's unfair since we don't charge anyone 25% to bring in a car. Quit drinking in the kool-aid the MSM is feeding you on a daily basis. The new tariffs are small battles in a larger war. Some people will lose out in particular battles, it's how it goes when you are fighting a war. In the end- trade IS everything. Nobody can threaten the US militarily, the only thing that can bring us down is to destroy the US economy. The largest, most productive and innovative economy anywhere in the world, by far. We are the 800 lb gorilla in the room, but we've been acting like a damn scared bunny rabbit for the last 50 years. Trump is flexing the muscles, and everyone else is scared. They are smart to be scared too- he is there to win for the American people not push a sleezy globalist agenda like our past 5 presidents. Trump is fighting for you, your kids, and their future- whether you accept it or not. Wizard: Obama committed crimes throughout his 8 years. He illegally spied on a political opponent using lies to FISA judges and the full spying capabilities of 4 of our allies. Even with all that, they still couldn't push the crooked side of beef over the finish line. It's all going to come out- the FBI, DOJ, DNC, etc were all in on the fix. Don't even get me going on his slush fund- the one that pays for all the paid protesters. Lastly, you talk a lot of shit about him, but Trump is clearly way smarter than you. He's richer, more successful, and more famous. He also was elected President of the United States- the most powerful person in the world. You think a stupid person can do that? Hillary couldn't do it- even with a rigged election. Why don't you give him a chance? The US economy is better than it's ever been in my 40+ years on this planet- and it's not a continuation of a trend line.
  12. It does't matter where he bought it from- a Ford dealer at one point sold it as a CPO car and charged additional money because it was sold as a CPO car. Therefore he is entitled to all of the coverage that comes with a CPO car.
  13. Fight them on the light. Ford will not replace a light unless the water runs as droplets inside, which yours has all over. Unless lights are specifically excluded from a CPO "Bumper to Bumper" they should replace it. Lights are excluded from the Ford ESP warranties unless you buy that coverage, but bumper to bumper means everything that's not a wear item.
  14. Everything here has ethanol in it, and it's a $0.35 jump from 87 to 89, and another $0.35 jump from 89 to 92. Shell stations ae even higher- typically $0.45 per jump or more, even when gas is close to $2. I run 87 in my SHO, since I don't really beat on it.
  15. I did some research years back and went with Redline in my 03 Cobra's engine. Been in there forever too. When you only go thru two tanks of gas in a year... Everything else I own that is four stroke gets Walmart's Supertech house brand full synthetic 5W30.
  16. Do you guys have to run premium gas in the 2.0 EBs?
  17. Says, it's got an extended certified warranty- Ford CPO? Bumper to bumper is 12mo /12k on those- get it done if your are still in that time period.
  18. Why not just buy the correct parts form Ford and install the roof rack? It's the best solution by far. Probably cheaper than any of the aftermarket setups too.
  19. Did you bench bleed the master cylinder? You have to get all the air out of the MC, then work on the lines. If so, then you either have a kinked metal line, a bad rubber hose, or a caliper that is somehow blocked internally (I doubt that).
  20. I'm sure Ford did some research and found 99% of drivers never exceed 4000 RPMs, so lets's just run a tiny turbo to make it all bottom end. People buy em like mad so....
  21. Clay bar the whole vehicle and then wax it. Will look better than new. I've pulled dirt out of factory paint jobs with clay bar, it'll definable get that stuff off. Don;t be afraid of the clay, it's easy to use and you will not hurt your paint unless you drop it on the ground and keep using it with grit stuck in it.
