  1. I think you meant Diverter Valve. Most stock turbo applications use a diverter valve. OP is simply asking for the location so that he can swap it out for a larger atmospheric blow off valve. You can definitely get the signature psssht.. sound, it will just require some additional mods, aside from swapping out the diverter valve with a blow off valve.
  2. The transmissions in these cars are junk. What a waste it was to develop such a great engine (the 2.7T Ecoboost) and then cheap out the build by mating it with the 6F55. Ford seriously needs to update the transmission ECM for smoother shifting, at lower rpm's, especially in third and fourth gears. I absolutely hate how the transmission constantly downshifts from 6th and 5th at certain speeds. It kills fuel economy and destroys the feel of the car. The engine has plenty of low end torque to pull in lower gears, yet this transmission is constantly hunting for higher gear. Very annoying, and I would expect much more in terms of refinement from a car in this pricing segment.
  3. I've never been able to break 22mpg per tank using 93 octane. This is doing the speed limit, with gentle acceleration, and cruise control at 65mph.
  4. I think you misunderstood. What is happening in my vehicle is the ECM engine brakes by downshifting the transmission. I am not touching the brakes physically.
  5. It's the powershift transmission. I have the same issue. Driving with cruise control at 65 mph, it frequently jumps from 4th to 5th to 6th gear. Also kills your fuel economy. Is it a safety feature where the vehicle engine brakes to slow you down? I just chalk it up to being a poorly engineered subpar Ford product. I've had numerous vehicles in the past 4 years (Audi, Volvo, Nissan) all with 6 speed automatic transmissions, and none of them had this issue while using cruise control at 65mph. They would all stay in 6th gear and use the low end torque of the engine, rather than upshifting at the slightest incline or decline in the tarmac surface.
  6. what a shame. this is that last Ford product i'll be owning.
  7. they saw an opportunity to charge you more and they did. get them to put it on the lift and show you the frozen bolts and supposed camber kit.
  8. this. i would have never purchased this vehicle had I known about this beforehand. it's beyond terrible.
  9. I had condensation in the tail lights the day I picked the car up new from the dealer. Haven't seen it happen again since, and I've been in numerous rain storms and washed the car about 10 times. Hasn't come back. I know the front headlights are apparently vented for some reason, no so sure about the tails though.
  10. As was stated earlier, your husband has no idea what he is talking about. Fuel efficient turbocharged engines are the norm in 2016, and are very rapidly replacing naturally aspirated larger displacement engines. The added bonus, aside from better gas milage on the 4 cylinder Ecoboost (the engine in question here) is that it produces more torque (more useable power) than the optional and outdated V6.
  11. It wouldn't be quite so obnoxious if instead of using the actual horn for the alert, ford had instead used a higher pitched chirp, like what is on my 2006 Audi. Sometimes I arrive home late at night or early in the morning from work and I really don't think my neighbors appreciate being woken up by the sound of my Edge's horn. I find it hard to believe that in 2016 some auto manufacturers are still using the horn as their alert sound for securing the vehicle, or telling the driver that the engine is still running.
  12. 210 6'3 here and they are too short for my legs. The lower bolstering is strange and I usually have to turn my body 10 degrees to the left to feel like the bolsters aren't squeezing up against my lower back.
  13. Mine has always rattled since day one. Poor design and craftsmanship. I never use it. What a waste.
  14. thanks for the write up. ordered one. ill let you know how it goes.
  15. I was just thinking about making this same thread. Presently I have mine mounted under the rear view mirror, wire running down into the 12V port in the passenger footwell. Wondering if there is an ignition power source in the rear view mirror/dome lights cluster. Or if anyone with the service manual has the wiring diagram for it. Having the wire hanging down looks bad, and is obstructing windshield vision. Certainly something that could get me pulled over and ticketed.
  16. Xenon HID's are pretty much always an upgrade option on cars in the US, whereas they are pretty much standard equipment on base models in europe. I honestly think that the DOT should pass a rule that states HID or LED lighting has to be standard. I think it would prevent many more driving fatalities. In my area North Eastern PA, there have been 9 driving related fatalities in the past two weeks. And I think many could have been prevented had some of these vehicles been equipped with HID beams. Ford forces you to buy the stupid panoramic roof and the 401A option package in order to get the HID's on the Edge Sport. Kind of ridiculous, since I didn't want to spend the extra 1500 for a sunroof that I will never even use. The one time I did open it, it rattled like crazy, and I've heard some people mention that it adds a lot of weight to the vehicle and that they are susceptible to cracking or getting stuck in the open position. Ford really needs to make it more fair to the consumer who just wants enhanced safety features such as HID lighting, instead of treating it like a luxury that has to be purchased in unison with the clunky, poorly designed pano roof.

  18. A second vote for Hunter Roadforce Balancing. I had a set of 18" Ronal's on my S4 that I had balanced twice at two different shops and they still vibrated at 60mph. both of these shops were using cheap weights that they would affix with cheap double sided tape. not even 3M quality. Finally found a shop with a Hunter Roadforce high speed balancing machine and I advised the tech to please glue the weights on. The car rides almost perfect now. plug your address in this link and it will direct you to a shop with the high speed balancing machine. http://www.hunter.com/gsp9700
  19. congrats. i agree, the pearlescent white really offsets the trim and the wheels the best. beautiful car.
  20. they are known to crack, and i'm just not a sunroof person. my old 92 VW Corrado SLC that did not have a sunroof, was worth two thousand dollars more than a sunroof equipped cars. i had no problem selling it when the time came. everyone in the enthusiast community wanted a no sunroof car.
  21. yup. i had the same issue. i didn't want a sunroof at all, let alone a gigantic panoramic roof. but i did want HID's, cooled seats, Nav etc.. It nearly impossible to find a Sport with HID's without the roof.
  22. My seat back stopped cooling today. the car only has 80 miles on it. The day I brought it home from the dealer the seat back did cool. Now it doesn't. Not a good look for Ford. Perhaps they should have never offered this option if their engineers can't figure out how to make it work properly. I remember my 2004 Saab 9-5 Aero had cooled seats and they worked great for the life of the car.
  23. No, I paid the taxes as a lumpsome up front for NY state. And it's 12,000 a year.
